James Flores is an organist and pianist based in Albury, NSW, Australia.
James has attained Licentiate and Associate diplomas in organ performance and piano performance from the Trinity College of London and the Australian Music Examinations Board. In 2020, he received the Governor-General of Australia Medal for his contribution to music and was a finalist for Albury Citizen of the Year in 2017 and 2018.

This was sang in the Novus Ordo not the old rite.
@@JF.MusicStudio It is sad you cut one third of it, breaking the logic, rythm and integrity. There is plenty of Nuovo Ordo Kyrie with the three stanzes....

The music is by Handel but the lyrics were actually written by Arthur Somervell in 1928. He also arranged the music to accompany the song.

Thanks for sharing, James: bravo! Did you know that this very popular Welsh hymn tunes was composed by Rowland Hugh Prichard in 1830 when he was only nineteen? Rowland was an amateur musician - he worked as a loom operator in a textile factory.

Is it me, or is this newer version very difficult to sing along with because of the complicated melody? I grew up with the version much like this: (search TH-cam “Keech Trece Glory to God in the Highest”). Which version do you prefer?
I prefer this to the Shalom Gloria but it’s getting quite repetitive now. I’d like to go to one of the Latin Gregorian settings but I need a good cantor / schola.
You are right, the older mass settings were probably easier to sing with simpler melodies, but the newer versions such as Mass of St. Francis played exceptionally well here by James, are an amazing experience for the congregation, in the big cathedrals with the pipe organ.
