The accuracy of words very much matters: it was not just Poland 1941, it was Nazi-German occupied Poland. Holocaust would have never happened if the Polish state had not been invaded and destroyed by German III Reich.

Medical afflictions have made me an invalid, and I have been lazy , too lazy for far too long, about the practice of my Faith and prayer life. A few days ago, I watched this film, and it convicted me: because I am partly paralyzed, I have limited mobility, and because of family disapproval, I have no one to transport me to Mass; yet, in the starvation bunker, facing death in a most horrific way, Father Kolbe was still able to recite the Rosary prayers. And what does that tell me seated in my easy chair? I have already let my parish priest know that I need confession, and my one daughter who does not disapprove will transport me.

Well done! Left me wanting more. I especially liked the opening of the dangling rosaries, followed by the prayer. You have a vision. Good luck in pursuing your dreams.

God Bless you St Maximillian. I learned of you in my Primary School , St Patrick's, Greenock , Scotland aged 9. I worshipped in your Church in Mississauga, Ontario , Canada in my 20's. Where I had sampled Polish Christmas with good Polish Pals of mine. Hopefully I'll pray for you one day where you perished. RIP St Maximillian Kolbe

The time of World War II was also a time of genocide on the Polish nation. Poland, which was attacked by three attackers (Germany, Slovakia, the Soviet Union), defended against them for a month (September 1, 1939 - October 6, 1939). During World War II, 12 million Polish citizens (35% of the population of the Polish republic) died or disappear, including 3 million Jews [living in Poland]. (The time of World War II was the time of the Russian-German occupation of Poland in 1939-1941 / then (later) of the German occupation of Poland in 1941-1945). On June 14, 1940, Germans transported 728 people of Polish nationality from the Polish city of Tarnów to the Auschwitz concentration camp. In addition to the small group of German criminal prisoners who served as Kapos, Poles were the first prisoners of the Auschwitz concentration camp. Forced to hard, exhausting work, they often died after a few weeks. Over the next two years, more people of Polish nationality (men, women and children, including Maximilian Kolbe and Czesław Kwoka) were transported to the Auschwitz concentration camp. Moreover, since the beginning of World War II, mass shootings of Poles by German soldiers were carried out to exterminate people of Polish origin. During the massacre in Wola (a district of the Polish capital Warsaw) German soldiers murdered from 30,000 to 65,000 Poles (Polish nationality - men, women and children) within three days (August 5-7, 1944). The murders took place at the beginning of the Warsaw Uprising (August 1, 1944 - October 2, 1944). [The Warsaw Uprising was not a Warsaw ghetto uprising]. Mass robberies (plunders) of Polish state and private property was also carried out. Up till now, many valuable collections of books, sculptures and paintings have not returned to Poland. (As a result of plundering Polish cultural resources during World War II, the National Museum in Warsaw lost a large part of its collections, including: 99% numismatic items, 100% clocks, 80% gold articles and jewelry (Jublier's products), 63% fabrics, 60% furniture, 70% books and royal bookplate (royal ex-librīs). Less than three years after the start of World War II (January 20, 1942), the Germans decided on the genocide the Jewish population at the Wannsee conference in Germany.
