Work in Progress - Expect the Unexpected
SYDNEY'S GREATEST VIEW - a Poet's Paradise II
similar days meld in myriad ways
I work rushed hours to own slow minutes
where I sit and write
child-like, a loosened kite
where the night alights
words strike, lines ignite
then I sleep.
to rise and work hours
for minutes
of unhurried thoughtfulness
for even a second of this
despite the price
is
a Poet’s Paradise
Music Used (in order of appearance, Artist - Song):
A Tribe Called Quest - Jazz (We've Got)
XXXTENTACION ft. Joey Bada$$ - infinity (888)

Superb Production. Answered the real Why with intelligence and Stoicism: it was the path that led to change, and not the destination. In life we all have our "IronMans". Now im more than inspired to comeback to my training after a knee injury. Thank you, Nelson. A lot of success to you!
Wow, at first i thought this would be another vídeo of many about your experience training and becoming an Ironman. I also thought:” maybe its too long, maybe its not worth my time”. But man, its one of the best videos Ive ever seen on this topic. I cant Imagine what it might be to get the venue cancelled twice and still be willing to put in the work and sacrifice to make a dream come true. I’ve got my first olympic triathlon in three weeks. I know this will be one of many milestones until I become an Ironman. You’ve inspired me and you made question many things and the importance of patience. Thank you for sharing your story. Congrats on your journey, sure it’s not the end of it. Big hug from Barcelona !
Thank you, Nelson.
I'm French, twice i look this video. Great job. You keeped perseverance but this was not the luckiest year for this challenge.
Dude. What the fuck? That was such a dope and inspiring video. You’re a stud! Keep pursing

Great work, Iconic view
Sdoen, this is hectic 🙌

What a journey mate! I am taking the same journey too very soon! My little brother has done it well.. I believe i can do it too 💪💪
Thanks for sharing your journey!
This film is priceless
Man what a film, what a message. ⬆️ Way to keep fighting and overcoming “self” come on to “Texas” bro we stay open during crisis.
Great motivational story Nelson. You've inspired me to get back out there.
Really nice job kiddo.
Has the strength you cultivated training for an Ironman helped you cope with the trajectory of Daniel Ricciardo's racing career?
🤣nope, but I still have faith in Danny Ric!
very inspiring story man. You can be proud of what you achieved! Not many people are willing to change their lives and even if "they" do, only a few will be willing to actually go for it! Keep going mate
Wow!! Thanks for sharing. Love the reflections!
You went to a couple of clubs or EDM gigs, and proceeded to film yourself with a hangover the next day? Hahah this was really weird man. This whole thing was fake. You don’t need to fake a story about having a tough life or going through stuff, just do an Ironman…we’ve all seen and loved Lionel Sanders, but you are not him. You’re imitating him in this video, and it’s extremely obvious
Hey man, great video, incredible discipline and well done, however, as someone who also has an extreme and obsessive mindset. I think you went wrong by limiting your time frame before the competition. Initially, you only gave yourself 6 months to train for a full Iron Man (with no endurance background). This is an impressive feat, but if you had given yourself more time to train and build a solid baseline (working on form, allowing tendons and ligaments to adapt etc.) you would have had a much higher probability of remaining injury-free. Regardless we live and learn well done! I have previously made the same mistake, look into “acute workload ratio” 👍
You're completely right, and I am giving myself more time now. Something I want people to take away is that it takes (lots and lots of) TIME for your body to become strong enough to complete an extreme event like an IRONMAN.
@@nelsonbpoetry agreed! I hate the new trend of “running a marathon/Ironman with no training”. People are literally removing the discipline aspect (repeated daily training)to stroke their egos. * I’m not saying you did this, you trained. I just hate the trend.
Thanks for a great film, and well done on having the courage to share your journey with all of its ups and downs
Wondering who your physio is? I'm in Sydney and also looking to correct some postural imbalances
This is one of the best videos and reflections I have ever seen. Great job!!!🎉❤
Hi nelson, congratulations for your whole process and for showing your story of overcoming. It has helped and motivated me a lot as I am currently recovering from a calf injury similar to yours. I am a patient of your mother and she showed me your channel. Thank you very much for your content, I hope to meet you someday as we have a very similar mentality of overcoming and sportsmanship. Best regards bro.
Thanks for sharing, legend! Much appreciated
You sounded like Arnold “I will be back” 😂
Great movie mate you just go for it
Dude awesome video I watched the whole thing honestly solid effort, did you ever do the Ironman event and if so which one did you end up doing. Again gotta say solid effort mate
Thank you for Sharing your story
Amazing video. I hope you complete the Ironman one day, but even if you never do, you're so much stronger and better now! Fantastic job.
Fucking right man!!! You’ve inspired me to another level. Thank you!
Alright bro I’m going to subscribe when I see that Ironman complete! -2022 Ironman Finisher
I'll earn your subscription, one day...
Thank you for sharing brother. Really inspiring & motivating video. The best I’ve seen in a long time. The fact you didn’t get to complete the iron man as the grand finale of the video, somehow gave the story more depth. That the commitment to change & overcoming challenges is the real mission. I look forward to hearing more of your journey.
@nelsonbPoetry after searching for an ironman journey i came to your video i can honestly say im glad i seen your content. I hope you can keep going and produce more. Me and my friend will be doing ironman 2025 and i will certainly use your video as reference. Keep at it man and i hope to see you with a medal. Good luck
So needed this right now. Thank you for sharing this.
Mate that was an awesome watch 👍 Well done for having the courage to put it on TH-cam and be vulnerable. The setbacks you had to overcome are not small and even the final straw of event cancellation, you managed to take the journey to be the positive. I don't doubt for one minute you won't complete your ironman real soon. And I bet you smash the 12hrs. I've done a few halves, heaps of Olympics and sprints in WA but I'm still waiting for the full ironman calling. 2024 is the 20th anniversary in Busselton, maybe this coming year is the year for us both. Keep the strong mindset and positive lifestyle choices up. Much better early mornings feeling fresh and feeling fit than 8 hours of drinking, smoking, spewing, regretting and recovering hey. Took me 25 years to realize that and find the start of healthier choices and less destructive activities. 😂 Well done bud.... Mark
Thank you for that value it was great!
Unbelievable that you went so positiv out of the whole thing
What an amazing video, and what an amazing experience. This goes straight into my “race motivation” playlist, as I am preparing my first endurance event and having the same revelations as I go through the preparation. That is the juice, the race itself is merely the cherry on top. Congrats!
Just found this video and honestly so absolutley inspring! Im just training for my first triathlon and ironman and this has been so incredibly inspiring and motivating to watch! You are amazing!
Fantastic perspective. After completing 4 half Ironmans the last 2 years, I signed up last month to do my first full Ironman (Wisconsin) in 2024. I will 65 years old. This journey serves as a reminder of what is important. Progress, Not Perfection! Love it.
Great story 🎯❤️ I did my first ironman at 45 …… you have the future in front of you🎯
Hey Nelson at 46:56, did u still have pain going through those exercises or did the wait from injury to exercises take all the pain? Eager to hear something from you, having the same issue at the moment
How often did you hit strength sessions during this time??
Please tell me that You have now done your Ironman? It must happen!
Self torture. Balanced happy human, never self torture himself.
This is the best video on TH-cam.
Great Job man, would you be open to sharing your training schedule? Im about to do my first 70.3
