Star Trek The Next Generation Collectible Dice Game - watch a turn played
A video of a full turn using the two starter sets- Enterprise E and Borg Sphere. Video starts at the tail end of turn 4 of our game and shows all of turn 5. The rules included in the starter sets are a bit hard to follow if you've never played a game like this before. Hopefully this video helps you wrap your head around the rules and game mechanics.
No editing on this one, I'd suggest fast forwarding through my minutes long agonizing over my power output phase - funny you don't realize how long you take to make decisions until you actually record yourself doing it.
... Yes, a math mistake is to be found if you pay attention, oops.

Well, things have changed. Drastically. I used to think this was a good way to buy a used car. Not anymore. Hertz, Avis and Enterprise have partnered with Uber and other delivery companies and now allow delivery drivers to rent their cars -- even for up to 6 months without having to bring the car back in for inspection and maintenance. I was considering Hertz and Avis for a used car, but no more. What's you opinion, Mr. Butler? No longer a good option for buying in my opinion.

I can actually speak to this as I'm retired now and do some Ubering as a way to get out of the house and make some pocket money. To be cost effective to use a rental for driving rideshare you would need to be renting an EV - Tesla or perhaps a Chevy Bolt or doing a hybrid-electric mini van. Anything else, the gas prices on top of rental fees would kill you. So outside of those vehicles you are likely fine.

@@ebutler5202 Hi Mr. Butler, thanks for responding. My car was totaled by a reckless driver a few months ago, so I have had to rent cars and also make use of a ride share service offered by my health insurance provider that contracts with Uber/Lyft drivers. I have learned a lot from talking to the Uber drivers that have given me rides. Without exception, every one of them was driving a rental car, and every one was driving full time, not just a few rides on the side to earn some extra money. Also, the major car rental companies are actively trying to recruit Uber/Lyft drivers with big ad campaigns on their websites promoting special rate packages for Uber/Lyft/Instacart etc. drivers -- rental plans that are WEEKLY at minimum, and can be renewed for up to 4-6 weeks without bringing the car back in for maintenance. Clearly, they are marketing to FULL-TIME drivers who don't have cars and will be using the rental for both work and personal use -- not retirees who such weekly/monthly plans would not be cost effective for. Every Uber/Lyft driver I have ridden with I have asked them about the car they're driving, and every one was a rental. For me personally, given this new car rental market landscape, I'm no longer considering buying a rental. Buying a used car is already risky enough without adding the high likelihood of getting an Uber/Lyft/Instacart car to the mix of negatives. And there is no way of knowing, the rental companies don't give details about who they've rented to, for what purposes, when you buy a car from them. Thanks for your valuable insights.

Rent to buy, make it sound like you just rent the car as part as of the payment every month. Very misleading, I would not call that a rent to buy! If you would go down to most rental places, you you pay 2 months in advance. Take your tv home and make payments on it on till the 28 months are what ever the contract says. They need to rename their rent to buy program . Because that not really rent to buy!

I flew from Seattle to Salt Lake City for a Rent2Buy offer from Hertz for a 2018 Mazda 3. The program advertised a warranty, but the contract stated the car was sold “as is”, which seemed misleading to me. They insisted on financing the car, even though I had the full amount ready to transfer within 1-3 days. The financing terms were not favorable, with a high interest rate and a long term. I was concerned about potential defects in the car that might surface later, and the “as is” clause could prevent me from making a claim. They tried to rush me into signing the no warranty paper and the financing agreement. I walked out without any regrets other than what I paid for the rental I didn’t need and the time wasted with them.

Wow. Thanks so much for telling us this. I was about to do a Rent To Buy but reconsidering now. I don't want to finance, I want to write a check and pay in full on the spot. Do they not accept that? Also, they advertise on their website a 7-Day Return/Refund guarantee "You can return your Hertz Certified or Rent2Buy vehicle within 7 days/250 miles after purchase, whichever comes first. Bring it back and pay the difference for another, higher-priced vehicle or we'll refund you." Without this option I would never buy from Hertz. I want to take the car to a mechanic right after purchasing and return it for refund if any major problems.

@@sl2608 In the contract they have a section specifically for renouncing to all warranty, they said it was standard. It might be something on that particular location but be aware if you sign that you don't get any form of warranty. They didn't accept cash, nor check, and while I can rent the car while it clears, if for any reason there's any delay they'll charge the credit, which was at a 10% rate. They don't accept credit. I assumed it was going to be credited before the rental expired, but the renouncing the warranty was a showstopper. I'll consider buying in the future, but not with those conditions. Maybe it was just that Salt Lake City location but be alert.

@@ilannknochen All the cars that I've looked at in their Rent To Buy have come with the standard, very limited Hertz 12mo/12000 miles warranty, which I consider pretty worthless once you read the fine print. The tricky words in the "warranty" being: "LIMITED" powertrain warranty and "COVERED" parts to repair or replace." A lot of slick-talk mumbo jumbo. Had the car you wanted, 2018 Mazda, already exceeded the manufacturer's warranty, typically 3yr/36,000? And if so, then Hertz didn't offer any extended warranty? Thus leaving only their 12mo/12000?

When going through the rental process is there a deposit? Cause wether you use credit or debit there is always a deposit the regular way to rent a car. But with the rent2buy program is it the same with the deposit or your just paying for the 3 days

    • @ebutler5202
      @ebutler5202 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

I don't believe so, but it's been a long time since I last rented a car. The 'rent' part of Rent2Buy is renting the car in the normal Hertz rental process, same as if you were just renting a car for the weekend. The '2Buy' part is handing them a check for the price listed on the website + state fees + tax - coupon (I assume there are still coupons) - the rental fee. Hertz went bankrupt during covid so things might have changed since I last bought a car from them, but that's how it worked back then. If you do a loan your bank may require you to put money down. I would call your bank or the finance people at Hertz and ask.

1996 Star Trek The Next Generation Collectible Dice Game was released in conjunction with the movie, Star Trek First Contact. There were two starter sets - Enterprise E (not the next Gen Enterprise D, because by the time of First Contact movie the D had been destroyed) and the other set was Borg Sphere (escape pod) . BOTH starters are needed to play the game. The game was released by the company, Legends of the 5 Rings which was bought out by Wizards of the Coast in 1997. Wizards quickly killed the game and as a result there were only a very small number of booster packs and extra ships released for the game before it ended.

Don't know but once you've decided on the car you are interested in take the car info and VIN # to your bank and ask them if you would qualify for a loan. You could also call the 1-800 number for Hertz and find out where you would be doing the sales paperwork and call that location to speak to Finance Department. Be sure you get your credit score before hand and have your income info so you can get an accurate quote. You can get your score for free - you are entitled to a free credit report (once?) a year from each of the credit reporting agencies or you can get it for free through some credit cards or services like creditkarma. Remember the total cost will be price + document fees + taxes. I think that Hertz can give you the final total beforehand to share with your bank.

Just got at the day before yesterday sent an email to the company requesting a refund waiting to hear from them. If I get stuck with it I'm just going to get an underlayment and then I'm going to get a rain fly for about an additional $25 and call it a day. There's no way I'm going to waste my time seem sailing it and all of that nonsense when a rain fly will solve that problem.

Not sure if things are back to normal yet or what impact Hertz's bankruptcy during the Pandemic has had on the program long term. Still think it's a great way to buy but don't just assume it's the best deal - shop around first.

I had about two ounces of water inside. I did put more tape and sealer on the seams and also spayed it wit h silicone water repellent. The tent would be even better if the flysheet came down a few inches lower to stop the rain blowing under it. I dont know where you can by this tent as most Sears and Walmarts are closing.

A heads up, it probably used the same frame mechanism as the 4 person tent. I'd suggest setting up the tent once before you actually go camping - the pole locking mechanism isn't intuitive. Once you do it once it will make sense, but the first time you set it up it's a bit confusing .
