This truck beats me. I dont know exactly what it was running, but it had a built motor and was running nitrous. I ran a 15.6 on this run. Im taking off in second gear, so the launches arnt the best. My 97 wrangler with an LS2 motor, at the drag strip. Making 400HP and 400Ft/lb of torque. Ended up running a 15.4 1/4 mile.

How much worse is the gas mileage?
Jackson Robinson it actually gets better gas mileage. It had a 4 cylinder on 33s with stock gears when I got it. With the LS2 It gets about 18mpg if I drive nicely. It spins 2500 rpm at 75mph on the highway.

did you convert to a cable driven throttle body or stayed with electric?
IFELLONYOURMOM converted to cable driven throttle with a holly throttle body and a TPS from a GTO.

Flick Nuggetz it doesn't take much to make the lines adapt to what you need, the V8 compressor to stock condenser and the stock dryer to V8 compressor, basically you can just take the 2 lines down to a hose shop and tell them what length you need and show them what ends you need where, they can make it up and in an afternoon you can install everything and have AC again

do the dana 60 affect the rubicon lift kit or do you have to make it fit
I had them built with the brackets and the pinion angle set from dynatrac. They are also cut down to just wider than stock jeep axles.

What's the engine you have in it?
My first trip to the strip to run my slowstang there was a CJ running a carbed sbc into flowmasters, lifted on swampers. My ass was handed to me he ran 14.1 at only 89 mph trap. I was impressed! Somehow those big tires hooked up like crazy and his 60' was 1.7
badass, I just cant imagine dropping 12k on axles though. That's more than I payed for my jeep.

I am a jeep guy through and through but wtf are doing on a drag strip in that death trap. At least wear a helmet, Jesus. It seems stable but I would be terrified to have that thing over 70 mph. Do you have any brake upgrades? I've been saving up to do almost the same build, -the ls2, but I need good brakes

raginroadrunner I've been maintaining a fleet of trucks for a long time and ultimately we end up scrapping the gas powered Fords because we have some many engine problems. broken timing chains, failed timing tensioners, blown head gaskets, ejected spark plugs, the list goes on and on. Fords modular v8s are unreliable, inefficient and they take up as much space as an old 460. GMs LS engines absolutely make mod motors look stupid. we have several with over 300k that have needed nothing but water pumps and spark plugs their entire lives. you must be living under a rock bud
lol. people like you are too stupid to insult. pushrod design may be dated, but it's simple, effective, and powerful. it keeps the weight of the engine down low, rather than top heavy wide dohc set ups. Saying the car is junk is your own opinion. regardless, to go back to your original statement, GM isn't going to kill an american icon just because the economy's tough...
