Why install Tailscale in the Proxomox host and not in an LXC? Doens't this defaet the purpose of Proxmox? I use this setup (with a Headscale server) where I have Headscale in one LXC and the Tailscale client in another LXC. Running on a high availablility cluster. If the node running eighther of them goes down they simply spin up on another node.
You continuously surprise
where did you find this?
Thanks nico
thanks nico
my pleasure thanks for you comment

Thank you, Nico. This is a very interesting comparison, which I liked!
Glad you liked it!
That was a nifty video, Nico. Many thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video :)
Thanks! 😀
I've found the Turnkey File Server to lag a lot in releasing security updates over debian, which is a bit concerning.
Thanks for the comment Did you look at adding letsencrypt ?
TurnKey Linux servers are available directly in Proxmox! And as containers! That is convenient! Thank you, I was not aware of this
Great to hear! thanks very much
Thanks for the video! Found it interesting
Hey nico where did you dig this out ? hmm .... interesting
looks like a compact server
Nice video
How is this more valuable to me than Portainer? This looks like significantly more work for a fraction of the features I get with portainer - especially Portainer Edge features. Second - Portainer CE is OSS, why didn’t the developer just fork and develop the features they say Portainer is missing? I’ll give this a test drive and provide feedback - but I am struggling to see how you can just drop Portainer for this. 🙏
Hi there Thanks for you comment. Do you install docker containers by using the Docker run command? this generated docker compose files which you can backup on your server so in 6 months time when you want to install the container again you have a backup of that I am also using this all the time to test and fix my docker compose files and have a central place for backing up my compose files Have a look at my Github repository link below video That how I backup all my working Docker containers
Excellent
Thank you for you comment much appreciated
What about Docker networks?
Hi Mike Thanks for your comment Networking is done at the Docker compose level There are two tools : 1. to create compose files from docker run commands 2. to edit docker compose files You can manage networking in a Docker Compose file by defining custom networks like this: and extract of the docker compose file: version: '3' services: web: image: nginx networks: - mynetwork ports: - "8080:80" networks: mynetwork: <<<<<<<<<<<<<< here is how you specify the network
@@dvp7388 Right. My question was more about, can you see and manage docker networks from the UI like you can in portainer.
All this just to replace portainer ? Lol
Thank you for your comment much appreciated ! It gives you features that I used chatGPT to get: 1. convert docker run command to a compose file 2. Edit and validate compose files I work with a lot of different docker containers this side
Great video
Thanks!
Hey Nico where did you find this?
Yes where did you find this
It took a lot of research
Great tool wow
you dont say ?
I trust you found this usefull
Please let us know what you would like to see next
if your next video is like this it will be great
is this going to provide internet access to the clients as well?
Hi there thank you for your comment most appreciated! All my VM can access the Internet but cant be accessed externally This give me access to them even giving them new ip addresses using Twingate
Noob question, learning fast tho lol, does this work on debian based distros also?
Hi there thanks for your comment much appreciated the short answer is Yes The better answer is Use Proxmox it is Debian with KVM and does all the effort to get this working for you
Thank you nico
You're welcome
Great idea i need something like this
Go for it!
Excelent thanks Nico
My pleasure! Thank you

Wow i thought Gitlab was easy to install but Gitea is definitely easier thanks Nico
thanks for your comment
Watching this video the second time has helped me pick up some of the nuances I missed (forgot?) from the first watching.
thanks Ed
Very interesting approach!
Glad you think so!
Extremely interesting, Nico. I enjoyed watching and also learned some neat shortcuts. Excellent!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nico I see that you got new IP addresses explain?
Yes that is correct We create a new Network where you can specify who and what machine can connect to your servers
I like the ide of managing the Wireguard network
Yes you are right it creates networking with rules not available in Proxmox to connect ann servers as well as VMs
Good idea I like wireguard this is a nice idea a frontend to wireguards
The Frontend is in the cloud however some corporates nay want to host their own front-end
Thank you nico
Its a pleasure I am glad you liked this video
