    Thanks for this basic summary video. Example was quite helpful. Would have loved to see the following: - A live demo of setting up the experiments on Amplitude along with their trackers - More real life insights about how many experiments does an average PM conduct concurrently, what's the average user segment size and whether they always complete their decided time limit

      @ProductManagerAnthony หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much! Glad you found value. As for your requests: 1. This is something I can look into adding in a future lesson! 2. Teams are usually running a small number of A/B tests at a given time. The reason is so that they can quickly finish one and then move onto the next. If you have multiple running at once, you need to make sure they're all mutually exclusive from one another, which cuts down the number of users who are eligible for the test. If you have an enormous product (like TH-cam) you are able to more easily do this, especially if you are testing completely unrelated parts of the product. In terms of average user segment size, it's very dependent on the product & their current metrics. I would rely on the a/b test sample size calculators online to calculate. Usually teams do leave a test running for the recommended time so they can be very confident that the results are actually statistically significant and not due to random noise. If the results are overwhelming positive or negative though, teams usually see that quickly and can turn off the test and move on to another one.

    Would you recommend getting a bachelors degree? If so in what sector? Also can you break through in this industry without one?

    • @ProductManagerAnthony
      @ProductManagerAnthony 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would strongly recommend getting a bachelors degree. A degree such as computer science would be ideal to gain a technical skill set. I think it would be quite challenging if not impossible to break into product without a bachelors degree at the minimum.

    I’m 36. In project management for a tech based distribution company. I most design warehouses with cad professionals and engineers, manage jobs and contractors. I like tech stuff and drawn to it but this hit me after college ( I didn’t have a good compass of what I wanted in college like most people). I find the product manager position. Very interesting. my question is does my prior skill set fit in any way to markets that use product managers and if I go get a certificate as well as learn some things based off of this video would make a good transition to this type of job?

    I'll be interning as a PM this summer and have been watching many videos on YT, but this was the most helpful & easiest to understand! Thank you so much. I love that you broke down the process into 4 steps. One quick question. How do you lead teams without having much authority? How do you balance what the engineers are interested in vs business teams' goals?

    • @ProductManagerAnthony
      @ProductManagerAnthony 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the best way is by establishing relationships through 1:1s, being very thorough with your work and research which builds trust, and constant communication. In terms of engineering initiatives vs business initiatives, teams will usually agree to some type of breakdown like 20% engineering initiatives and 80% business initiatives. Hopefully this helps! Best of luck as a product management intern this summer!
