TO LAST A THOUSAND YEARS
มุมมอง 60K2 ปีที่แล้ว
The Nuns are building a monastery to last a thousand years. Inspired by their Carmelite roots in Spain and the colonial architectural style of their local surroundings in Gettysburg, PA, the Nuns have chosen to use only the most traditional methods of stone laying and timber framing. Their goal is to provide a warm and loving home for our Beloved Lord, a place to honor and serve Him all the day...

Spiritual Reflection - A Medal of Honor
มุมมอง 2.9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Today, Sister acknowledges the ugliness of sin and just how complicit we all are in making Our Lord's compassionate Heart suffer. But she also acknowledges that the less we can do, the more He can do for us! Despite our fallen natures, God is here to carry us, we only need to accept His Love and His Mercy.
Spiritual Reflection Week 8 - Why do we need Carmelite Nuns?
มุมมอง 11K3 ปีที่แล้ว
People often ask why contemplative orders are important: in today's reflection, Sister tells us why. Carmelite Nuns spend almost their entire day (over 8 hours) in prayer, and they pray and pray for the Church, her priests, and for poor sinners. Most of us have many (important) things to do on a daily basis, from raising children to working in our communities, but we don't always have time for ...

Lenten Weekly Reflection No. 5 - Heaven is for Lovers
มุมมอง 1.6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
What does it mean to be a follower of Christ? It is to be a Lover. A lover of souls, a lover of all that is good. To die for love is to gain, however. A Carmelites' vocation is to love and to die daily: their daily life is true gain - gain for priests, for families, for benefactors, for the whole world. There is no soul on earth that escapes their love and their solicitude.

So beautiful! What are the bells names?
The Greatest Gift. Thank you for sharing this Sisters!
Thank you Sisters. Viva Cristo Rey ❤
There's something about the sound of real church/Monastery bell ringing, that are being rung by hand that is so beautiful. The mechanical bells so many churches are using now is not the same.
I agree
How Nice!
New Year Blessings to you Dear Sisters of Carmel. What a beautiful sound coming from these bells. More beautiful is the completed chapel!
A beautiful sound.
Merry Christmas and happy New Year!!
This brings tears to my eyes. Beyond earthly... truly supernatural beauty! Thank you, God, for these Sisters who are interceding for us!!!
Glory be to God!
DEO GRATIAS!
Very beautiful❣️🙏 Are the pews facing toward the center aisle? And if so, why?
To pray the liturgy of the hours together.
@@inspiers69 thank you for answering my question. God bless you🙏😌
These bells were from the former St. Stanislaus Church in Ambridge. So glad to them again !!
What a beautiful sound!!
Let a joyful noise ring out that Christ is born this day! ALLELUIA!!!!!
Oh how beautiful! The sound of these bells brought tears to my eyes.
What a beautiful and wonderful Carmelite monastery. We are blessed..

God bless you all! How joyful you all must be in hearing the bells for the first time!
May the Little King continually bless you, dear Sisters!
Beautiful. God bless all the Sisters of Mt. Carmel of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
How beautiful. Praise God!!
I love this! 💗 May God bless your ‘determined determination’ in the spirit of our holy mother St Teresa 🙏 May our glorious St Joseph guard your project 🙏

In the name of Jesus yours Ann Pia Victoria , Maria Santopietro . Marriage name Roaix.
❤❤
song? 👀
Beautiful
Wish I could join you. Do you have a farm? Dairy animals?
Very interesting
This video expresses well the universal relationship between architecture and the quality of life of the humans who occupy it. Unfortunately, that genius then seems to turn immediately into a Pennsylvania Dutch/Amish way of life. Nice enough, for sure, but does not speak to most of us today. (But I'll bet those Pennsylvania Dutch/Amish nuns have exchanged horses and buggies for modern vehicles.)
Beautiful
So, at this moment in history, we have artificial intelligence, quantum computers, CRISPER Gene-Editing, the James Webb Space Telescope, etc...; but we can no longer construct a Monastery building from stone?! 😂 Thank you, blessed Sistets, firstly, for having sacrificed your lives for Christ and His Mystical Body; and secondly, for your steadfast dedication to constructing a true Monastery, made only of stone and wood - to serve as both a sign of, and inspiration toward, that spiritual stability that comes from a life of prayer and work, in the silent, hidden life of the cloister. God Bless You!!!❤
God bless you sisters. Wow
This is a lovely reflection. As a single person in the world following God and the way of holiness I aspire to things greater than I am able to carry out. O wretched man that I am.
❤
Nice to see the horses. I am a lapsed catholic convert, need to get things set right. I live alone in a tiny home and farm and log with draft horses, my Gentle Giants. I do a lot of thinking about things, and this video also gives me much to ponder. If I lived close by I would volunteer my horses and my time to help them with the farming side. If the sisters could say a little prayer for me I would appreciate it.
may i ask - does anyone know who made this film? gorgeous work
Yes, we worked with Spirit Juice out of Chicago. They're an amazing Catholic film company and we are so grateful for their help.
@1:30 “there job is to be silent in a world that doesn’t stop talking”
I have made donations to the Carmelite sister’s project, and plan to continue sending funds to assist with their effort. I had the opportunity to visit in Sept 2023, and I can assure you that what they have set out to do, and what they have accomplished is impressive indeed.
Bless you oh my precious Sisters!! So remarkable! Building this great Convent is a symbol of your wonderful gift to the world. Bless you a million times over!
Very sad. Once they have less than 7 sisters... The CATHOLIC CHURCH FAILED THE FAITHFUL IN COVID AND THEY LOST THEM
❤
Can anyone point me to a tutorial showing how to build this way, so others may follow?
what wood is used to create the windows and doors so they last many years as well?
Praise God for these wonderful people and this beautiful ministry! Such a heartwarming story and so beautifully told by the videographer. Well done!
Eminenza reverendissima Grazie per quello che fa per la Santa Chiesa.
God bless the clear minded, king hearted trustworthy Cardinal Burke.
Who has control over the property? If it's the coopted Vatican and you don't comply with their takkun olam compliance segue, do they just boot you out like they have with nuns all over the world?
His testimony at 5:00 brought me to tears
Thank you all.
