Guineafowl were called “turkeys” because Western Europeans thought they came from Turkey (they didn’t, they just travelled through Turkey on trade routes). So the name was applied to the North American bird, like the words “Robin” “sparrow” “buzzard” and “warbler”, even though there was no relation. Then the name for guineafowl shifted away from Turkey while it stuck with the “gobble gobble” bird 😊
Agreed, much of this is covered in the video this short came from th-cam.com/video/5SQWEw7TSs4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fOeGM49J3BknPbfV

So pleased that Disney branched out into cruising, makes getting a Disney fix and hour drive to port instead of a flight to WDW or Disneyland.
And they do an excellent job of it!
Isn't THAT a Taylor Swift family get together to honorary sell themselves to Satan's world Tour...just an opinion..that's all...😮😢

Russia!
Certainly it would be fun to experience its food, culture, and architecture!
What was the name of the show that played at the then still unenclosed Fantasyland Theatre? The one where they presented all the different lands? That one was great as well! Still have the CD with soundtrack. I was reminded to it when I heard an early opening spiel of Epcot on Sorcerer Radio. One part contained some the same music. Most of the text was the same as well, I kept expecting to hear „Euro Disneyland“ as part of the lyrics. 😂
@@marcb.877 I don’t remember that one. Maybe that didn’t open until the park was open to the public. All my visits that year were during cast previews. You’ve peeked my interest
@@PalmSpringsLinguist It was called "C'est Magique", the CD was also availble with english lyrics, calles "Feel the Magic". Not sure if the show was also in english at certain times. th-cam.com/video/C7IHLhNCoMQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CcNVCAgoCvn8Q_lX Apparently, they presented the show again at the 30th anniversary, but it seems it was just a special show for annual passholders. Still nice they went back to the roots: th-cam.com/video/rwiOc7IBf90/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Wr-9uJHYalOPA8PP And this is where the first song apparently originally came from, the opening ceremony of Epcot, at 19:25 th-cam.com/video/wPRag-YygRE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=csRUG5RbPytA5wtD I always felt that the score felt really 80's and somehow was too modern for that show, and now I know why :-) Still love it though! I really think they should add Russia. The largest country in the world with a unique culture, it should stop being used as a bogeyman.
@@TheAchillesShield Certainly people would be interested to learn about its food, culture, etc.
I noticed that The Queen's music number is almost the same one as Tokyo Disneyland's One Man's Dream (1988 - 1995). Personally, the version from One Man's Dream sounds better.
Interesting insight!
Another good job 😀
Thank you! Is there a specific country you'd like to see added to World Showcase?
@@PalmSpringsLinguist New Zealand or Australia
@@mattryan3297 I traveled to both these countries this year. Great choice!
In your opinion, which country should Disney add to EPCOT's World Showcase? What did you think of my top two choices discussed in the video?
The Spanish version has some bad staging in key scenes, one of which is the concert hall. Melford has Dracula and company conversing in the dark during the performance. Browning has this important dialogue exchange happen appropriately during intermission. In another scene, Renfield's crucifix is hanging out in plain sight of Dracula, yet the latter doesn't even flinch. As for the dolly in on Dracula on the stairs, the shot is spoiled by a bumpy camera. Then there are those mismatched outtakes of a very recognizable Lugosi standing in for Villarias. The Spanish also has too many proscenium scenes of the actors standing lined up on the set. Browning intercuts wide shots with closer angles thus achieving better visual rhythm within scenes.
Interesting details!
Another good video like always back to the future is my favorite movie :)
Thank you! This was a fun afternoon. All three of these films are some of my favorites. Thanks for watching!

No man. Don't ruin it like this. I'm an OG. I rode the trams at nine years old on the construction tour.
Is the review by Donald Berrigan publicly available/accessible? I am trying to read a copy
It has circulated on social media in years past. I just did a quick search and can't locate it. Know that in the video, I read the review verbatim. The whole purpose of the video was that I thought it would be fun to try to match video clips to his review to try to prove him right. Of course, in reality I'm a huge Rocky Horror fan and think his overreaction to the film simply makes me laugh. In the description of the video, you can press the "transcript" button if you want to read along as you watch the video.

Inflation is definitely part of the picture. Disney spent 20 million on Black Hole only two years later, almost twice the budget.
