CDT Day 91 - Yellowstone, Old Faithful - into Idaho
what was your start date? great vlog btw
Did you ever send yourself food via mail? Or did you buy everything on trail?
Have you experienced the all weather version of the primus? Wondering if the quality is similar to the vivo tracker - how the synthetic material compares to the leather
hey waldo is your ultra adventure hat a small or large?!
Great review. Thank you!
Hi Waldo! I don't know if you're still around on TH-cam but I wanted to thank you for your videos. I'm a hiker at heart but I'm disabled and I can't travel or hike the beautiful places I want to see, and your videos make me feel like I'm there. Thank you so much for bringing me along on your CDT hike. Full compliment: you're a beast with no fear and I loved watching your journey.
Does FG stand for firm ground ????
Missed the info on your camera and mic. Impressive gear.
Hey.. just starting watching.. what date did you get started?
Could you do a video explaining how to navigate/stay on trail
Great video. Considering buying the Primus Trail FG III all-weather but not sure what the differences are between the Primus Trail FG II. Any recommendation?
Thank you for sharing your journey
Had to show this to a friend. I still can't believe they never told us about this in school.
Waldo why was a bull tied to a tree? Was it stuck in some vile trap? I would have tried to free it.
I've never had any of these issues with my yNero backpack, its DCF as well.
how did you do with that thinlight pad?
What is the make/model of your microphone? Great videos. I am watching them in prep for my upcoming CDT thru-hike.
Took me almost a year, but I just finished watching every one of your vids. Thanks for taking me along on your journey, I really enjoyed it. Scenery the last few days so gorgeous
So cool, that you documented your CDT thruhike. We just found your channel and know, what we will do the next few days. Bingewatching all your videos 😀
What a wonderful adventure. I cant get your instagram to work. Has it changed?
I will not be paying 250+ euros for shoes with bad grip and waterproof that weakens in couple years.
Yep. Grants to Chama, no matter the route is pretty neat. On the trail its my favorite of the CDT in NM. Hope you got ahold of some sun screen.
My favorite and the most beautiful in NM on the CDT is the stretch from Grants on. Too bad you had to road walk it.
Toaster house is a house with restroom and shower. You have washer for clothes. bunk beds, kitchen, etc. The town is small with restaurants. Down the road a couple of miles is a good grocery store.
If you were walking with your gps on you could know how many miles you had traveled.
Man, what's bad about this? Easy smeasy. Wonder why people had to be "rescued"? Good choice for you. It's fun to explore and find your own way. Enjoyed your video as always. Thanks. PS-I've read of others dropping down into that valley and do the same thing. Great minds think alike, ha, ha.
2つの良いとこどりのザックが出て欲しいなぁ。デザインはZが個人的には良いし防水もZ。パランテはなんといってもランニングザックのような使い勝手の良さ、フィッティング丿良さ工夫。
Love that Dread Pirate has an ominous sounding name but seems like a friendly guy. Glad he decided to tell a couple stories on camera.
Absolutely stunning last few days along the Gila. Will be watching your adventure all the way to Canada.
Thank you. What time of year did you hike this? How were the bugs?
🍁 Great vidwo presentation - thanks for doing that with the feedback included. Love the UL approach! 🍁
If you follow down stony pass you’ll see the rio grande reservoir. Just above the lake, their are 5-10 BLM permitted cabins built 1950s. Lucky enough to have spent a lot of time at one of those cabins since the early 70s.
Had mine for 3 weeks and the sole started to come away from the upper a shame because after 2 weeks I found them very comfortable.
did you find an alternative?
@@hurpaderpp yes I got a refund and got the Tracker Forest Esc
@@andrewmusselwhite9458 and those have been fine? I dont know if I would want to buy from the same company selling 300$ shoes that come unglued
Thank you for sharing this. Did you hike north or south? When?
Has anyone outside of the UK had any experience repairing these boots (or Vivo in general)? I read on their website that you can’t send them in to get a new sole put on if you live outside of the UK. I wrote to the company asking if they sell the sole separately but I’m waiting for a response.
I do not care for Z-Craps anything. So far never worth the money. Excellent - had to subscribe. BTW, I wish I had bought any Pa' Lante pack instead of my Nero -- that was money flushed down the crapper.
Hoping you set to hiking again.....the adventure awaits.....best and God Bless.
Thank you! This is what a review should be. All the relevant information is provided - no filler, no touting of the product or brand. Just honesty.
So my critiquing would be far too much commentary and camera focused on vlogger rather than trail ahead but glad there's no music
Bro is reppin 5.5 pounds and says this metal knife is really nothing. haha
As a trail runner, I think I’m confused about is why are they so heavy and I noticed a lot of the minimal two barefoot trail shoes are heavy than a regular shoe. It’s interesting they can lighten anything up that would be the greatest trail shoe ever but for me, it’s a minimal to short distance I want to go really long and real fast. I’m gonna go in something lighter usually that’s when I go with sandals.
Waldo no post cdt gear review!?
Do you wear socks with these shoes? If so, what kind?
I am still looking for that perfect boot. Have been wearing crispi boots while in the mountains the last years and I love them, but I like the idea of getting more ground-feel, and I suppose I can use these in the city during winter in Norway. The prize is a bit off-putting though. In my last 350 km hike in the mountains I used new Altra Olympus 5 MID and they pinched my heel a lot and created blisters and tendon problems. In addition, they got totally wrecked from that one 350 km trip and the laces didnt hold up either.
Hello, a very good review. I have been looking for information about this brand. I think I'll take a few more reviews. Then go and try them on. Take care.
These are my go to boots. I live rural and all of my walks are trail mud tracks long grass etc. mine are also 2+ years old and the tread is wearing as one would expect. But the uppers on mine still look good and not scuffed - I do regularly treat them with boot polish. I brush dirt off after every walk and let the boots air dry (removing insoles if it’s been wet) then I polish them using a standard wax boot polish. The result is mine are still looking good and 100% waterproof. They do come up a bit small compared to other Vivobarefoot boots and as they don’t do half sizes some might want to go up one size if wearing thick socks. My feet don’t sweat in them in warmer temperatures but I wear Injinji toe socks. Agree about the eye watering price - I bought an additional pair in the sale for £90 when my current ones wear out, but I’ll get them re-soled before then.
Imagine if you were into running lol
finally lmao ive been looking for a review about these shoes and whether or not they dry quick or not. thank you!
It’s been over a year since you’ve posted this and I just watched your journey. Awesome job! What is next for you?
Have you tried the newer number 3 version yet? If so what which one would you recommend?
