I just bought a 2023 xl.. You don't need power seats or a bigger TV screen. The xl is very loaded for a "basic truck" especially for a $15k-$30k price difference!!

They need to make an X edition as in manual windows, AM radio, bench seat, etc. Of course, with a much lower price than these two models.

At 75 years old I have owned all 3 of the major American trucks... If you want a truck that rides like your wife's car and will leave you stranded on the side of the road... Get a Ford. A truck should ride like as truck!!! If you want one working SOB then get a Dodge! If you want a powerhouse then get a Chevy. My neighbor is a ford nut, but for some reason when he needs something towed he always comes to me to do it for him. The only truck that has EVER left me stranded on the side of the road was the damn piece of junk Ford I owned... Drive down the interstate and what do you see? BRAND NEW Ford trucks with dealer tags on the side of the road!!!!! So, keep your Ford trucks and be sure to put a box of Kotek in the glove compartment for emergency's

I bought a 2018 f150 in august of 2022. It was at around 70k, i believe just under 70k. The transmission blew a yr later, and IRA ford technicians kept lying to me telling me its not blown and its fine. Now the truck is as good as scrap because of them. Never buying ford again. So much for 2018 being the best yr of f150.

Totally not an explanation lol AWD basically has LSD’s front and back along with computer assistance to distribute power accordingly. 4x4 is “yes selectable” but acts like having a locked differential making not ideal for turning. Turning on 4x4 would be like driving a spooled diff around a corner. Chattery and dangerous af! 🧐

Personally i think xlt is the perfect truck. In todays standard its not luxury, but to old dogs such as myself it still is luxury like it once was. The cloth interiors on these f150s are so cozy, i love mine (2018) and dont ever wanna go back to leather. You get all the tech you could ever need. And depending on the yr you can still get a bench up front with column shifter which is a must for me. Also the exterior appearance i love the xlt the most generally regardless of yr. Not too much chrome, just enough if you dont mind chrome. I hate lariats because of the chrome but on xlt it looks great. Aside from the fact that my transmission blew 1 yr later(it is 110k miles got it in 22), i love my 2018 xlt and wouldnt trade it for anything.

As long as it's 4 wheel drive, I'll take the XL.

A very good explanation, for the newbie, about how to think about both systems. This is helpful if you’re an average motorist, just wondering which system will get you to work, especially in snowy states. If I’m traveling cross country in the winter, I’m probably gonna take my AWD, since I’ll be on interstates and highways that get plowed in the winter. If I’m getting groceries while it’s snowing 18 inches, I’m probably gonna take the 4WD instead. They each have their valid purposes, but neither one can do it all. And that’s ok.

Theres this, people wanting your $100 item for 3 bucks, and then one I have gotten a lot that goes something like "is this still available" I reply yes, then they say"hello this is available please yes i am location ready buy please text me text sir i buy". I try to decipher this the best I can, telling them the location, confirming the price, asking them to lets set up a good time for the transaction, etc. And then they don't reply for a week. When they do reply its just "hi". I usually block these now. If I get anything in broken English like that I just block it.
