Excellent video! I want to encourage everyone to grow more tropical greens (year round) or seasonally depending on where you live, they tend to be more "wild" than more selected comment veggies/cultivated foods of today. Of course grow more fruit too! I love how veggies give you food 365 days a year where as fruit trees produce 1x (or a few times a year). This should be a hint on how often we should be eating these foods as well!

@@FruitForest.CostaRica I love collard greens and kale, and I also find that many Asian vegetables grow well in our subtropical climate, at least in the cooler months. I buy the seeds at the Asian grocery. For perennials I grow longevity spinach, Okinawan spinach, Cuban oregano, katuk, African potato mint, cranberry hibiscus, moringa, chaya, and betel. What a lovely selection! I assume you have been eating those fruits and then collecting their seed while travelling in different countries around the world ? These fruits are available at local markets in South America (f.e. brazil) and in South East Asia rather than in Costa Rica. It seems that expats bring more and more tropical fruit varieties from Asia into Costa Rica and start planting them in their fruit forests, and that way, introduce more variety into the grounds of Costa Rica. We like Dabai more, it has more flesh, and it’s more fulfilling.

Wow what amazing fruit, I have never even heard of most of them, mangosteen and banana's but not the rest, might have to try to source some of these trees in Brisbane, Australia if I can. They might grow alright here in Brisbane's subtropical climate. Thanks for sharing😀

Thanks for your feedback👍🏼 In Australia we would ask around in “Oz Rare Fruit” Facebook group for rare fruit trees👍🏼

Durian is the king of all fruits! Love it! Have you tried Puyad Durian from the Philippines?

We find the smell of a tree ripen fresh Durian is pungent but pleasant. It definitely smells worse after a day. Most people experience not fresh durian (more than 3 days after harvesting). That has bad smell indeed.
