In Tongue
"In Tongue" is a new music video collaboration uplifting the vibrancy of Indigenous cultures and the resilience of the human spirit.
One afternoon, in the homelands of the Kaw and Osage nations, contemporary choreographer Maura García (non-enrolled Cherokee/Mattamuskeet) danced to the music of Navajo-fronted hip hop/jazz/funk fusion band, DDAT, in front of a mural featuring Osage design and language, created by visual artist Mona Cliff (A'aniih/Nakota). The result? A multilayered music video uniting Indigenous artists across genres and miles.

Backing your beaded Medallions 😉
มุมมอง 34K6 ปีที่แล้ว
A quick video on backing your beadwork. This is what I do and there may be other fun ways , I'm just sharing what I've come to rely on. For this project I used chipboard(cereal box), Aileen's tacky glue, waxed artificial sinew, and a light leather to back the beadwork. Follow me @ Spottedcloud on Instagram for more examples of my beadwork😉

Nary a mention of the center bead . What size is it and where can I find a pointed bead with holes to sew it onto the felt.

Thanks so much for this in depth video!! Right from the materials you need to getting started! So many videos don’t show right from the beginning and it’s a really important step. I forgot everything about beading and times are changing, so I’m starting from scratch and sadly there’s not a lot of videos that aren’t giving the information that you are giving. I’m so happy that I came across from your video!!

i like tacking the front of the thread that’s holding the beads, because then i don’t have to hold it the whole time, and then i can just bead forward and make adjustments as i’m going (if my design has a curve), and it makes the process go by faster. plus every other pair of beads you do, you can give your beading thread a tug to keep the tension tight

Very informative, Mona. I have made a Sioux style pipe bag, similar to your design using white buckskin. Took me 6 months to make when i was 16. Still have it. I've been beading a long time, and I still am learning. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. One thing I've struggled with when beading was keeping the beads laying flat, tight, and rigid. Your video really helped me with that.

Thank you so much for your fantastic tutorial. Two needles and waxing the thread is really awesome idea! I wanted to learn beading work for a long time. I have watched more then 50 videos, but failed to learn. You showed every steps so clearly that all my confusion has gone. Thank you so much for teaching me. Could you please make a tutorial about fabric beads (like 12-16 mm size) with katha stiches and seed beads? I look forward to hearing from you.

I am not sure if this is live, or I am watching a replay. I wanted to comment that I have used tule (the netting on ballerina dresses) as a paper. It to has grids, but they stretch. I like it better than the crinkling of paper.
