I grew up in Auburn in the 60s. Syracuse may as well have been New York City. I went there for the airport and to Fairmount Fair about once or twice a year. It seemed too far for some reason. Or maybe Auburn had everything we needed. YEt when people ask where I'm from I always say I'm from Syracuse.

Nicely done! For me Syracuse is long ago and far away--but I enjoyed these memories!

Syracuse was a GREAT place to grow up, and an even better place to move from . I will show this video to friends who can't believe the ghost town Downtown Syracuse has become was once a thriving metropolis . Woolworths pizza , Little China Restaurant, hot doughnuts at Downeyflake , I miss the food the most!

Let's hope Syracuse welcomes more Jewish immigrants in the new year. I'm talking to you, lomertamahon1.

No. I'm not legally blind. The finest people I've met are from Syracuse, the best architecture is in Syracuse, the most interesting history is from Syracuse, the most talented people I've met are from Syracuse, and there's no jews, or atleast, not too many.

As a boy, I rode the trolleys. As an early teen I operated a lab for Dr. Hoffmman o Warren St. As a college student I was a train announce at NYCRR. And the shot of Memorial Hospital was special . . . where I met my wife when I worked in the laboratory.
