Sorry, but this is a really lazy demo... No set at the start, wrong type of step (just walking actually, not real proper step at all) and incomplete chain + turn at the end. Not quite the right demo to take as an example for learning this dance unfortunately....
As commented earlier this looks better if the active couples 1 and 4 start with a set out and set in before casting out for the half figure eight, thanks for posting!
That tune is the Irish Washerwoman but it is not the traditional tune for Postie's Jig although it is the correct length. They are standing around because they omitted a setting step at the beginning (4 beats) and a full turn for the actives at the end (4 beats). They are also walking when traditionally it is a two-step with a small skip.
Hi. I'm an English Country Dancer from the East Coast, and I was wondering where you guys got the music you use for these videos Would you mind sharing that info?
As far as I know, in English country dances the name of the dance and the tune are always the same since dance and tune belong together. So, the name of the music is "Comical Fellow."

Great! I had tremendous fun playing along with this one. I almost forgot I was in lockdown seeing the dancers!
Omg I have to do this at school
Hello! Could you please tell me what music was used for this dance/video?

Great teaching, admirable clarity!
This song is really addictive.
Thanks for posting. I am also wondering what piece of music this is? It is such a nice change in style from the traditional sottish band sound.
Where did you get the music? I've been trying to buy this song on iTunes and other places, but I have yet to find a version as beautiful as this!
It's sad the dancer with the pink skirt and the purple shirt doesn't look her partners, it renders the dance so wooden and mechanical.

It's even more fun if you add a little hop/skip to it!
What piece of music is used for this dance?
What piece of music do you use for this dance?
A Trip to Paris
Wonderfully clear demonstration.
