DANGEROUS GRASS SEEDS

It’s that time of the year (which we love more than any other) where we can once again enjoy walking our dogs in the fields and meadows. WHEN TO WALK YOUR DOG DURING THE HOT SUMMER

When it comes to summer walks, we have to adjust our walking routine. Sometimes it can be difficult “to explain” to your dog… most of the year, I walk my dogs around 4-5 pm. 😮 absolutely ridiculous. You do not bathe your dog's hair the same way you wash your own hair. Dry your dog the best that you can. Then take it outside and let them shake the rest off. When they come back inside give them one more rub down with a fresh dry towel. Then a very good brushing.

And then how often did you groom her doing the rolling strip instead? Is there a video of when she next came in and what you did on her /how her coat was looking? Thankyou!

    I don't understand - handstripping and rolling are described as the same thing, so why do you roll every week yet handstrip only a couple of times per year? there must be differences? Also, would you card before every handstrip? This topic is very confusing to me!

    • @maskenby5126
      @maskenby5126 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Handstripping is the practice, while rolling is a coat type. If you only handstrip every 3-4 months, the dog will have a longer, less structured, fluffier coat (they often use this schedule for puppies who are getting used to grooming). If you handstrip every 1-4 weeks, this will give the dog a not too long or short, varied coat that reveals depth in their coloring, this is called a rolling coat. Hope this helps 👍

    Should all terriers be carded? I have an Irish Terrier, who is a pet, and I do my own hand stripping. Should I be removing her undercoat by carding her. I was under the impression that the darker undercoat is what is seen once the longer dead hairs are stripped out and should not be removed, but I may have misunderstood. I think his main issue is pollen allergy which he spreads all over his face and body with his paws. It's working out great. No more paw licking and scratching.

    Thank You very, very much. I have 11 months old Airedale Terrier, and I have no groomer in my city, who will want to trimm my dog. I have to learn how to do it myself and this video is the best.
