We all realized that Hollow Knight was never really HOLLOW in the first place, or else why would he look back? It's a really subtle hint. Pale King genuinely believed in his plan, and it actually could have worked, he had it in the bag. But at the same time it was his own downfall. Without realizing it he started to grow an attachment to Hollow Knight, as well as Hollow Knight to Pale King. Making them both mutually at fault. And when you think about it, Hollow Knight PRETENDED to be hollow essentially lying about this important fact, basically making it his fault the plan didn't work and the infection got to where it is now. Just 1 little white lie screwed it all up. Not that I blame him for lying😅 I also would've lied if I found out I would've been thrown into the baby bin.

this scene would have really hurt if i had even the slightest clue what the fuck was going on when i got here. did everyone just understand what it meant and am i just stupid, or is the games lore really cryptic and you're not supposed to get it by this point? honestly even after beating radiance i still didn't get half of the major plot points.

How’d u make it into that thing

Something I realized while listening to the song. It only plays 3 times, in chronological order This, Path of pain, THK boss phase 3,4. This is when the hollow knight ascends and looks back to see the knight behind him before following the king and sealing the knight in the void. The knight never got the kings hand in this he was left empty. The next was path of pain, the hollow knight shares a moment with the king after what I presume to be completely his trials (path of pain seems to be made to test the skills of the hollow knight at least that’s what I think). This goes on to cause the radiance to seep into its mind. The knight doesn’t get any affection after beating path of pain, he simply watches the hollow knight at the end. The last is when THK has been broken down he starts killing itself trying to get rid of the infection, spreading it everywhere. In phase 4 he can’t even swing his nail without falling, he’s fallen so far from grace. He was not truely hollow, but the knight was. The knight absorbs the radiance no problem, he hasn’t become attached to anything in the ending where he absorbs the radiance. The knight is the true hollow knight but was selected not to by a matter of moments. All the ruin could have been prevented so easily.

If only the actual King can open the Abyss so who opened it for Ghost? I know he can seal the Radiance forever since he is really hollow, but no one knows, just Hornet, i dont find a answer for this but what do you think?

Why not just start the video at the start of the game? Bloody skipped half the video and it's STILL not at the cutscenes. This is false advertising if nothing else.

I know that I'm like years late, but just pointing this out. Before the lnight obtains voidheart, the white lady said that we are free of blemishes. She doesn't say that after obtaining voidheart though. So I think the knight is canonically pure (pre-voidheart).

The radience flew in defiance. The god of light would not fall to a puny mortal. Yet the knight was far,far from mortal. "You can not destroy the light! You are a fool and will serve me just as it would!" The knight rose. His husk gone,this new necrotic form bearing the dream nail. The souls of those broken things rose. "No. But We can destroy You." Chains of darkness clutched and wraped itself upon the radience. The knight,or whatever was speaking as it,tore and carved and struck at the radience with the dream nail,its newfound fury burning like the sun. The radience was gone but not the light. The darkness swallowed the light yet never fully. The sun set,and dusk came. No more constant light. Yet no more constant darkness... Hollow Knight ending:vengeance of the broken.

The Knight was so far away from the Abyss that he forgot his memories, his home, his purpose, and his siblings. Because of this, he isnt recognizable to his fellow siblings, all of them lashing out at him. When the Knight struck the The Awakened Dream Nail on his own egg, the only remainder of his past- instead of accessing the egg's memories itself, he enters his OWN mind and is finally able to recall everything that happened to him. He begins to remember how he and his fellow siblings were all cast to the Abyss's depths, deemed as failiures save for one, whose very mind and will were claimed to be flawless. The Knight's father, the same one who rejected him, leaves the Abyss with his son-turned-champion in tow. The Hollow Knight turns back toward the Abyss, hesitantly before following to catch up to His Majesty. The Abyss is sealed shut and the Knight falls to the bottom of the Abyss. With the Knight recalling these memories, he is made whole. Thus, the entirety of The Void is complete, his fellow siblings begin to recognize him as one of their own again, and the Kingsoul becomes draped in the Void's essence. This new charm will allow the Void to once again become what it always has been: an ancient, eldritch entity of complete darkness and emptiness whose powers are the only ones that can oppose the Radiance's blazing, blinding light. A black, shadowy, four-armed god made of countless tendrils once worshipped in ancient times by civilization unknown. The Lord of Shades. The Void Given Focus. Void Incarnate.

I knew about this game only this year, and man, I have to tell, those things that people telled about this game weren't wrong.. It's not just a game... it's fucking piece of art in all the ways, how could a Indie game be so deeply... the story, the way how it is written, the, I was ull into the game, with only my gameplay and spending hours trying to understand the lore, I finally understood it by myself, and man, I really cried by how it was made, mostly in this part, when I realized that the things that were falling were my siblings, and those quotes describing the hollow knight... with that theme on the background, i couldn't stop my tears... "No voice to cry suffering, you're the vessel... You're the Hollow Knight", after thousands of your sublings being murdered by your own father, and being the only one who really "work" its so damn painful... I might be exaggerating, but this game hits completely different, theres is not going to be any game that going to make me feel like this game did.. it's something that I couldn't describe, it's just wonderful

The questions I have is wtf happened to the kings mold after the white fragment from the palace gets collected?was the pale king or the fragment keeping it intact?and also every other kings mold leading up to the throne room their all presumably dysfunctional .Was it because the void washed away the imprints of the pale king’s desires in them or was it due to void over powering the shell leaking out and killing the pale king I just can’t get these questions out of my head.

Is the knight hollow? like he doesn't feel emotions because the knight is a discarded vessel for feeling emotions and the ending he was able to seal the radiance I'm kinda confused 🤨

Ghost is just seeing history, he wasn't really there.

The hidden emptiness of The Kingsoul was revealed (Voidheat) due to Ghost feeling negative emotion of seeing one of the darkest parts of the kingdom's history, this is the reason why Hornet wanted him to witness it to become powerful enough to kill the radiance.

I don't want to defend pk but this is for everyone like the second scene of the eclipse and so far they misinterpret it a lot "Our pure vessel has ascended" When hk was elected the king gave his speech in the midst of the fall of his sons. killing them one by one by one in the midst of chaos by the plage makes no sense Pk feels regret for this fact Ironically those children were safe in their confinement and died after escaping Those children are newborns, he has no emotions at that time. It depends on your experiences in life. The main villain only dies if she is forgotten, there is no compelling alternative
