BUT IT RIGHT, BUY IT ONCE
Anytime I want to buy something, I start with research. I'll typically start with a Google search that starts with, "best ...". For instance, "best fitness tracker." There will be plenty of review sites and after a while, a lot of these reviews start to sound the same, like one person's actual review has been rehashed by copycats. I get the feeling some of these reviews have never even touched the product!
The main problem I find with these reviews are that most do not test the long-term reliability of a product. Personally, I like to buy something right so that I only have to buy it once. I'll pay extra for something I know is made well and will last me hopefully forever so I don't have to go through the hassle of researching to buy it again.
So this channel features products that I personally use so you can get a sense of not only the features of a product but how reliable it is.

US Army Improved Combat Shelter - tents for civilians to try sleeping like soldiers
มุมมอง 38K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
What is more reliable and high quality than products made for the US military? Ok, there's probably a lot, but military surplus prices can't be beat! I think this will be the perfect tent for motorcycle camping, packs small, is relatively light weight, and best of all, it's field tested by the US Army! This is the Improved Combat Shelter by ORC Industries, made in USA.
Military Modular sleep system - best value in sleeping bags
มุมมอง 1.3K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
There are just too many choices for cold weather sleeping bags. I want to buy it once and not worry that the one I got isn't that good. Somehow I was directed to military sleeping bags, which made a lot of sense to me.
Kershaw Conduit - super affordable

If you need a knife you can open with one hand superfast, consider the Kershaw Conduit. It's very lightweight, feels good in the hand, has a pocket click and it opens with a solid flick with just one finger.
Best bang for the buck car windshield shade
มุมมอง 15ปีที่แล้ว
Before you know it, it's going to be summer and our cars will be baking in the sun, making it like a super hot oven inside. Things like your steering wheel, gear shift knob and seat belt will get so hot that you can't touch it! If you have to park your car outside in the sun, keep the inside cooler by using a windshield shade. Not only will it make it bearable when it's time to drive but it'll ...
No hassle car phone mount
มุมมอง 69ปีที่แล้ว
There's a lot of good phone car mounts that will hold your phone securely. It might take a few seconds to put the phone in and take it out but you won't worry about the phone falling off. Me, I prefer something super quick and super easy and I've gone the magnetic phone mount route. There's no arms you have to open up to put in or take out the phone, you just place the phone on the magnetic bas...
Spray n Wash bottle is excellent
มุมมอง 249ปีที่แล้ว
When you've used up all your Spray N Wash, don't toss the bottle, strip off it's wrapper and give it a new life! The spray nozzle is of surprisingly good quality for a disposable bottle, it can be filled with diy cleaning solutions and used again and again. Reduce your plastics use by re-using this bottle, then recycle when it gives out.

For $21, can't beat this dual monitor stand
มุมมอง 33ปีที่แล้ว
Dual monitor stands can be surprisingly expensive for what seems like a very simple piece of kit. If you need a simple monitor stand to free up desk space, this is a perfect solution. Monitors can easily be adjusted front and back, angled and oriented either landscape or portrait. This stand does not have gas springs which is why it is so inexpensive. To see the exact stand I purchased check ou...
Replacing lenses on Ray Ban sunglasses
มุมมอง 26ปีที่แล้ว
If you have plastic lenses on your sunglasses, it's only a matter of time before they get so scratched up that you can't see clearly out of them. If you like the sunglass frames, you can easily replace lens with aftermarket lenses that are much cheaper than OEM. I replaced my Ray Ban lenses with Fuse and now with Sunglass Fix. Both are comparable in price, between $35-$40 USD with Sunglass Fix ...
Best Mac Mini mount for no wifi issues
มุมมอง 2.2Kปีที่แล้ว
I wanted to mount my M1 Mac Mini under my desk to free up space. Since my Mac will not be hardwired but rely on wifi for internet, it seems a mount made of plastic would be best, judging from some of the reviews for metal mounts that I read on Amazon. The Humancentric was highly rated and at a reasonable price but the mount has to be snapped onto the computer. This could scratch up the metal co...
Cheapest Mac Mini SSD and dual monitor hub
มุมมอง 1.8Kปีที่แล้ว
It's true, if you want dual monitors and need the ability to add additional hard drives on an M1 Mac Mini, you're eventually going to need a hub. Can you refill the co2?
Typical co2 cartridges are not refillable. I have seen someone on TH-cam make their own homemade refillable cartridge for their airsoft gun because he uses it a lot but it's a lot of work and probably not worth the effort and expense for the casual shooter.
What is the Allen key size I lost mine pls help
6 mm
If the 19 is on the roster to buy just keep the 19X and train bro, the only differences from 19 vs 19X are minor like a loop in the handle for lanyards and other small cosmetics for military applications but it will still handle like a Glock 19. If you train with a 19x your training will transfer over to just about any other model # cause the ergonomics are universal. Don’t be discouraged bro you can still make it work
Thanks for the comment, actually the 19x has the frame (handle) of a Glock 17 which is bigger than a Glock 19. I was thinking of getting a CCW but I realize I don't want the responsibility. So I've been re-thinking small handguns as it's hard (for me!) to be accurate, so if I go with a 9mm I think I'll go Glock 17 as the handle size will be the same as 19x but bigger barrel to make it easier to shoot more accurately.
@@buyitonce ahh then the 19x is like the Glock 45 which is my go to 👌
@@buyitonceon i think the glock 19 you can change the grips to make it like the 19x
Light infantry doesn’t use or get issued this. Wish we had tents …
That's a shame, thank you for your service!
Good explanation of how to clean and dismantle spray bottle. Thank you.
my pleasure!
If u are a member on calguns u will find people selling g19x and u could purchase through PPT a glock 19x. I've looked recently and there are a few on there but we'll over 1k. They are not on the roster but have been imported either by people that have moved here ( not sure y anyone would want to move here from freedom states ) or by LEO who are except from commiefornia gun laws such as the roster.
Yeah I've seen off roster guns on Calguns and Armslist and they have quite the premium price. I"m too much of a cheap bastard to pay those prices!
I’ve shot mine once and when I tried to shoot it again it doesn’t shoot, bbs just fall out, I replaced the co2, safety isn’t on. Any advice?
Strange, just to make sure, the co2 cartridge is snugged up from the bottom of the magazine using the supplied tool? There should be a whoosh sound for the brief moment when the top of the cartridge is punctured and gas leaks out while it's being tightened with the tool. Also don't overtighten the cartridge but firm so it doesn't leak.
Also make sure the slide isn’t racked BEFORE reloading ! I made that mistake and I will jam everytime, Pull the trigger with the gun empty and make sure it’s not cocked back before Inserting a new clip 💯
You need more power pulling the trigger
As a proud Texan move out of COMMIE-FORNIA.
I am Californian and I was wondering. Does it come shipped with the blaze tip, trigger guard, and the handle band? (I bought the same gun) Edit: Does Vaseline work as a lube for where the co2 gets pierced?
No, mine didn't come with any of that, just the gun, the magazine and the tool to lock in the CO2 cartridge.
Alrighty!
20?? i see it online for double that price
Where I live there are Big 5 chain stores and every now and then they have sales where it' was $19.99. The last time I saw it on sale it went up to $25 though.
Remember now that the grommets both of them are for your poles not stakes , there on the ORC for height difference, and yes your gear is not to be thrown around your tent , we used our ruck for storage 😂 ,as for hanging a lantern inside it for civi use , you just need a y stick jammed into the ground under your vestibule and you can hang a light on that . These weren't designed for weekend campers .
Good to know about the grommets, thanks! Thanks too about how your ruck is for storage, yeah if I imagine if you need to move quickly, you want everything in one place ready to go.
My magazine is spraying out the co2 do I need a new mag ?
Maybe, the next time you replace the CO2 cartridge, try putting a dab of lubricating oil on the top where it gets pierced, it's supposed to create an air barrier around any leaks.
It’s dark inside I’m thinking for light discipline.
All big five sell bb guns? I live in SD
Big 5 in Los Angeles area sells BB guns, check their website for local availability
The tent is small because it's meant for sleeping only. You should have a tarp for somewhere to hang out in rain
I bought both of those back in November but haven't had them out yet. It was good to watch you set them up and use them
I'm glad it was helpful! Try a dry run in your home.
Wow! Dude I was thinking the exact same thing! Holy cow! When you said motorcycle tenting I was like hell yeah lol. Btw I served in the Marine Corps as an infantry grunt and we never slept in a tent during training even in rain. But that's a different story.
My desk top is about an inch thick. Do you feel I'd be able to drill this sucker on without poking through?
Yes, the supplied screws don't go in that deep, my desktop is about an inch thick as well, no worries about it going all the way through
I've been interested in this tent, but at 6+ lbs it isn't friendly for backpacking. Appreciate you posting your impressions.
Lol you think 6 lbs is heavy 🤣 well never join the service 🤣 this is a 16th of what you will carry hahaha, I carried my ORC on the entire Appalachian trail without one complaint, where my backpacking club members carried there Chinese trash msr tents which leaked like a wet sponge, while mine was dry 😂
@@beararms6945 Lol indeed. I'm 72, a veteran, and not likely to sign up again. :)
Has California not heard of the 2nd Ammendment??? Someone should sue them about that "roster".
The slide rattles a lot on mine, do you have that issue?
Mine is ok, but I don't use it that much for actual shooting but for drill purposes
They do that, mine does too and I’ve heard it from other reviewers
Does it rattle like the 17 Gen3? I hear the Gen3 slide sounds tinny and clanky
I own the PX4, at first I thought it was ugly when I saw it on the website of my local store, I wanted a pellet pistol, and it was either the PX4 or the Glock pellet version with the rubber chain magazine. Heard that the Glock magazine.system is not durable and the trigger is super heavy. Went to the store tried the Glock and yes the trigger is horrible. Bought the Beretta PX4 and when you hold it and take a close look it's actually very beautiful, trigger is awesome, way way better than the Glock, and it is accurate at 15 meters. I am satisfied with that purchase. Now I want a Glock, have to decide between the 17 Gen3 or the 19X, in my country there are no laws to avoid me buying either, not sure which to choose, any insights from you or your viewers is most welcome.
I thought the PX4 looked pretty weird but it grew on me after hearing about how great the actual gun is in terms of engineering and low recoil. That would've been a better drill gun as it's legal in California. Also, I realize a smaller gun is harder to aim at a distance. I have a Walther p22 which is very small and even with it's low recoil, I've having trouble hitting targets. I am better able to get on target with a 9mm Glock 17 with it's longer barrel. If carrying is your priority, the smaller 19x will be easier to conceal but may need more practice to put on target. Anyways happy shopping! That's great you have no restrictions in your country.
Cannot hear you too well.
Uhm 11bravo light infantry, from Panama to Iraq and Afghanistan I don't recall sleeping like that!😮
I know I crack up a lot of veterans with my uninformed use of this gear! If you are so inclined, would love to hear how this was actually used or should be used.
Pretty sure it’s only for Mech infantry dudes , I’m active duty light infantry and we have NEVER and would never be allowed to use this .
I order one mine just arrived here in Vietnam .. unfortunately the used one i ordered didnt come with fly center sheet pole could you tell me the length in cm so i can diy one cheers
I don't have a measuring tool this long in cm so I measured it in inches at 89.25" which converts to about 226.7 cm
After the shelter half and canvas tent the military came out with a modular tent used in desert storm, total garbage supposed one button spring load expansion setup......worked once and slept under the stars or a vehicle. Lol
California is the most screwed up state in our country.
I think tarp tents are better. There's so many different ways to set up a tarp tent making it more versatile and opening up a wider range of terrain you're able to camp in.
Tarp tents and camel spiders 😂yup I'm good with orc lol
I was lucky enough to buy two of these in new, unissued, condition 7 years ago. I paid $140 a piece. They are bomb proof but don't vent well at all. They are condensation machines. You can leave the door open some but it's not enough. The door on the back side doesn't have mesh so you can't leave it open for ventilation. They are super tough and will just take a beating and any weather you throw at it. No pockets or loops. Blackout material is nice to sleep later. The pegs are crap. The heads come off easily. They also have a funny smell to them even when new
I agree, there is a funny smell!
Lol I still have mine that was issued dryer sheets keep the smell down, when rolled up, This tent was my own personal Hilton 😂, it's actually sized as a man and a half, spent 8 months sleeping in this tent , I absolutely love it and the dark room was awesome at getting some rack at say noon in full sun as the tent stays dark.
@@buyitonce😂 dryer sheets rolled up in her when ya put her back into your ruck
Hi ; if you in the wood have tree around just hemic and tape +ropes is good to go for rain only and summer time, winter time + 2 sleeping back and ski clothes .
Yes the next piece of equipment i want to get is a tarp which I think would be good as a shade as well as for shelter
The Litefighter tent is probably the best military tent. I have the 1 person and 2 person. They are both nice tents to setup and take down. You can also get a cold weather kit for them. I also have the Military sleep system and agree that it is pretty nice and will keep you warm. It is very bulky. I have several peices of camping gear to do all types of camping. It seems like maybe you brought more stuff than what you needed or may want to look at alternatives. I think we all get crazy when we pack the car for a camping trip.
Good to know about the Litefighter, and for my next car camping trip, I'm going to try to take only what I can fit in a 60L bag
I wonder can you cook in the rear vestibule
It's seems possible but it's a really small space and very low height, I would be afraid to melt the material from the stove
I want one where you buy it from was it new or used
The tent appears to be new, the modular sleep system was used but washed and very clean, in great shape
@@buyitonce WHERE YOU BUY
You got link where you bought it
I got both of these off ebay, 479surplusguys is where I got the modular sleep system and the tent from foreversavage
@@buyitonce COOL THANKS
Darn if i wouldnt just stay home
I know right!
That tent looks harder to rig than my pup tent in the Army.
Yeah the rain fly is the hardest part, but once figured out, it should go easier
Love your video...I also have the glock 19x blow back as I have the glock 19
Thanks! I've been considering a G19 since I have the bb gun too
Yeah....Uncle Sam buys this stuff, contractors get rich, soldiers MIGHT get it issued but you'd NEVER get to use it. Good for civilians I'm sure.
Trace the footprint of the tent on a good piece of tarpaulin or thick plastic to make protection for the bottom of the tent. If it is the same size of your tent it will have less chance of getting wet
Great idea, will have to try it!
You got a link where to buy
I bought it off ebay from seller foreversavage, I just checked their inventory and they don't have this tent in stock. It was fun searching for them and tracking several for the best deal.
@@buyitonce thanks for the lead
Good review. But your mic...you can hear every single saliva smack from your lips and mouth 😂 gotta fix it.😂
Ugh, thanks for letting me know, will work on it! I can't believe I'm doing what annoys me too!
Strange vocals
Ignorant , the pup tent though heavier keeps heat in and having two to look out for each other a better idea , these are good for privacy but not field tough , they are crap
By the time you erected that ,the war was over
😂😂😂😂😂
😅
The US Military have been using the Army Pup Tent for years, as well as having poncho or Lavu tents. Surely you know or realise this?
I've seen other videos where veterans talk about being issued ponchos but didn't know about the pup tent.
I'm surprised it's not made in China.
China this is made for soldiers not democrats and Walmart 😂
Are you trained in close quarter combat? I would never allow one of my trainees to ever, EVER, stab downwards. Edge upwards, stab upwards, gravity assists in getting through clothes and flesh. Also, there are no bones, if you go in and up below the rib cage and sternum. And, you don't seem very violent for a Yenghi, a country that has been at war for 93% of its history? Just 16 years of peace. I thought you were all brainwashed to kill! My mistake there, yes? There is only one type of fighting where a knife will be held point down. Tell me.
I'm a beginner student in escrima and after thinking about it, we use ice pick grip in downward motion to trap, sort of, best way to describe it. I'm afraid I don't know what fighting type uses knife point held down. What's Yenghi?
He means Yankee
@@Soulman6969 Not so, smartie. Yenghi is a word in a language. Yankee is the corruption by the white illegal immigrants, because they probably couldn't spell Yenghi, and didn't know what it meant. Then, of course, you had your little neighbours squabble, and the traitors started to call all the loyal and trustworthy people, up north, Yankees, so a double corruption, moving further away from the original word, and its meaning. One day, I hope that there will be a Yenghi who can explain correctly. I'm not a resident of your country, and I KNOW IT, but then, our educational systems are a universe away from your low standards.
Your comment started off interesting, got creepy, and then got rude. What a ride.
@@Soulman6969 Yankee is the white Europeans' destruction of the Huron word "Yenghi". Tell me what it means. I do know.
I had to reseal my tent just in case, there are good youtube videos as to how to do this best, I like the Outdoor Gear Review version best. I set it up in the living room to checkit out and do any repairs if necessary. It is a 3-season tent.
Good to know it can be resealed, will check out that channel!
Ex Navy here , Lol , I got one , very HD , a little heavy but still glad to have in my bug out gear
Same here fellow squid ,love my desert Hilton 😂, pack this beast around in my ruck still for backpacking, nothing like getting a night's sleep at high noon like it's midnight lol.
The temperture ratings are Survival Tempertures. For real comfort, you would go 10 degrees higher. Say 30 Degrees would actualy have a comfort level of 40-50 Degrees.
Ah, good to know!
He said rated to -40 degrees but was that C or F? -40 F is wow cold.
We used the old canvas shelter half. Each soldier carried a 1/2 of a tent. 1 shelter half, 1 guy line, 3 wood pole sections and 5 steel stakes.
LOL WE ALSO HAD TO PACK THE SHELTER HALF AND A LOT OF OTHER SHIT YOU HUMPED BUT WERE NOT ALLOWED TO USE. OUR BC ALWAYS SAID YOU NEVER WANT TO GET TO COMFORTABLE IN THE BUSH AND DONOT HAVE NO TIME TO SET UP OR TAKE DOWN. OUR SOP WAS SLEEPING BACK TO BACK. SHIT HITS THE FAN AND YOU HAVE EYES ON !! Bought one complete set just to remind myself why should be thankful for my new tent @recondovargas3788
I have one of these shelter half tents from when I was kid in scouts
The inside of the tent is lined with reflective (mylar) foil. It's not only done to black out the tent (which is kind of useful if you're camping in places like Afghanistan) but also to reduce the tent's thermal signature at night so it won't show up on thermal imaging cameras. It was replaced by the Eureka TCOP (which is also a pretty good tent) and the current LiteFighter 1.
Oh man, this tent is more than it appears! Amazing. Thanks for the info!
I love my issued Hilton 😂
