This video was made with Clipchamp. I have been reloading for my Bergara 28 Nosler with the Berger 180 Hybrid, Fed 215M primers, Nosler brass, and N570 powder at a COL of 3.600". These loads are running 3105-3135 fps.

The swirling winds made it difficult for me to get dialed in at 811 yards. This is why it's important to practice.

This is the most accurate gun I own. It's not picky with ammo and it usually puts 3 in one hole at 100 yards.

Feeding my Deer
มุมมอง 169 หลายเดือนก่อน
Every day I get to feed my deer in the backyard. I have one doe that truly loves for me to feed her by hand. I call her Guinevere the Deer and she's my wild, furry daughter.

Proof that the .243 has knockdown power
Nice.
Holy shitt... u a beast, bro🔥💀🙏
Good looking gun
What kind of rest are you using? I like it.
Slow and methodical. That's what's up.
Nice gun! What's the capacity?
Co Net Ic En Er Gy
hey, would love to see a pic with the something installed on the end like a brake, I own a gun just like it and am considering the same
You should have let that one go. He looked too friendly and I think he was looking at you like he wanted to come check you out.
I definitely wouldn't set and forget that indoors my man.
Deer meat for dinner!
All the crap you said was just stupid 😂
That deer was still kicking at 2 minutes something lol. I’ll stick with my 30-06. I have the same rifle as you in 30-06.
What bullet?
Get outta dar.
Hunting on a ranch no doubt
Hell bb what knocked that little guy down in Alabama you get made fun of for shooting them baby’s
Did you hold gun sideways?
Where’d u hit him man it looked like you absolutely dombed him
Bro, it instantly put her down!!!
👍👍👍👍👍
My wife has the Model 70 Compact in 243 and you couldn’t pry it from her hands.
Phhht....south Texas scrub deer.....lucky if any deer down there weighs more than 135 lbs with the guts in.
Nice shot man, very clean
Good damn shot... One question... When's the feast?
I can tell you right now knockdown power on deer is a myth.. over here in Australia ive shot 2 dozen fallow and sambar deer with a 243, 270, 308 and 7mm rem mag. If you hit spine or head they’re down no matter the cal. If you hit behind the shoulder it all depends on the deer. I shot a small fallow with my 7mm and blew a 6 inch hole out of it and it still ran like nothing happen even . Meanwhile with the 243 if you hit near the spine they drop. I still use the 243 and trust it if I can make a good shot. There’s nothing wrong with the 243 or small cals. You just have to know your limitations. With the 7mm rem mag and a monolithic 140gr at 3200fps, I can take hard quartering or completely front or rear on shots because the bullet goes a long long way and does lots of damage. I’d never take those shots with a 243. If they’re dead broadside or ive got a headshot the 243 works perfectly fine
Less recoil means better placement for most shooters. Placement is where it's at!
243 great round, finally got one last year, drop deer with it first shot.
I know how much power the .243 has. I shot a doe probably bigger than that spike, and shot her through the heart, and she never left her tracks.
Dropping a deer in its tracks is about shot placement, not bullet energy. No such thing as "knockdown power."
I have killed more deer than I can count and I am not exaggerating. In Ohio Mississippi. And other states. I killed most with 12 gage slug. I have shot huge bucks, never took a step. Shot others tracked forever. Shot all behind the front leg . Attempting heart shots. Found some quarter mile away . When gutted heart was completely decinagrated. You never know with these creatures. That's why I love them so much.
That was a clean kill sir. Job well done.
Wow were you shooting in a tin can.
Its usually all about how good the nut is behind the bolt.
The military should have used this cal instead of .223
Get real
A 222 has knock down power if hit in the right place at the right angle at the right time at this 75 yards.
243 necked down 308 what do u expect to happen
243 and 7mm-08. Two wonderful deer cartridges.
I completely agree
Fun fact. The .243 win has almost the same case capacity as the magical 6.5 creedmoor. I run a hotter charge in my Sons 243 than my wife’s 6.5 cm. Ballistic prove more velocity and only slightly lighter bullet. 243 all the way.
@@jordandesjardins9330 and please tell me some proof that the 6.5 cm is superior I’ll wait.
@@joshradford1989 well 243 great cartridge and to be honest I shouldn’t had said the comment I wasn’t trying to be rude I just saying a prefer a 6.5c m
@@joshradford1989 well some of the reason I think the 6.5 is good because you can get as low I 90 grain to use for wolves coyetes and then 156 grain that can take down a moose and the cm is a flatter shooting cartridge then some others and it’s long aerodynamic bullets retains more energy.
@@jordandesjardins9330 I can complete agree with that only because the factory built 243’s typically come in 1:10 twist barrels and factory ammo stop at around 100 gr. But a custom 243 with a 1:7.5 twist barrel with 20thousands free bore and I promise it will shoot the same bullets as the 6.5 faster. Now with that being said I understand it’s not apples to apples but the shoulder angle and case capacity are more ideal for velocity
243 is a great cartridge but it’s not all ways about FPS
Anyone that believes a .243 Winchester cartridge chamber rifle will not effectively kill a white tailed deer has his head where the sun can't shine!!! I have a Remington 700 youth model with a cheap 4x12 scope mounted that a record of 5 for 6 shots with 4 different people operating the rifle feeding it with the cheapest Winchester 100 grain projectiles from Wal-mart. Longest distance was over 200 yards and the shortest distance was about 25 yards. 4 bucks and 1 doe. The doe took 2 shots, second was to put her out of misery due to the 1st shot was a high lung shot. Bucks went down with 1 shout with no tracking required.
Great shot my brother,i have a Mossberg Patriot 1957 model chambered in 243 it was given to me by my father and i call it ole 2 step because after the crack of the muzzel thats all these big old Illinois bucks take and they 8 out of 10 times lay down after that .I must say that they are very accurate in shot placement.way to go and thanks for sharing.
Hunting with 243 in Illinois?
i would have let the yearling walk and wait for his grandpa
nice shot bro
I had i Remington 742 in 243 and I killed several bucks with it and they all went down with 1 shot
