Godzilla in Hell:Deeper Themes
Godzilla in Hell is one of the most well known Godzilla comics. For a project I was supposed to read a comic book, so I decided to give this one another look. I found some themes that took out of that I think is worth discussing. It isn't the best Godzilla comic nor is it a masterpiece. It has a pretty straight forward but I think there are ideas worth talking about.

So after I made a video on my very own Godzilla design, I wanted to touch on something I feel maybe people did not like about it, that being the guy is slim. This is overall why I like it when a Godzilla is more slim its a very odd topic but I wanted to discuss it lol.

Though the film hasn't come out yet, I want to state how although I am all for a sequel I don't necessarily want one, I think we should return to solo films and maybe even a return to original formula, however I do like the focus on more kajiu action.

Just as an aside...I personally think that Toho really dropped the ball when they shot down Eric Powell's KOM...I think that series would have been amazingly unique also if he could have finished it as he planned
I came in late on the IDW line of Godzilla comics...and I have been beating my self up for for a long while now. Having said that, this was the first of their Godzilla books I read, and have been trying to spread the word on the amazing nature of it's content ever since. Great overview.

Very good video but I'm pretty sure Godzilla (1954) was based on a incident that happened with nuclear testing that was called Lucky Dragon no.5 incident in which a Japanese fishing boat strayed into US H bomb testing which inspired Ishirō Honda. Yeah you are right on that, honestly should've included that but regardless I think overall nuclear energy is pretty much a basis for Godzilla

All Slim Godzillas have absolutely awesome designs, but honestly I like bigger gojis a litttleee bit more I do agree though with the statement that Godzilla can do more things when slimmer which is completely true

One problem I see with this review was when you brought up shemo it is VERY obvious you didn’t do the research between Shemo and Godzilla’s past because godzilla made an example out of shemo in the past and evolved cause she IS a major threat to him which is why he powered up, and to put the Cheri on top, godzilla banished her to the hollow earth were the scar king ins-laved her which is why shes like a puppy cause she has no choice. In the film that was there 2ed encounter and if the film started with Big-G fighting shemo, non of that will make sense and godzilla even though may win may have his ASS handed to him sometimes. Just a little highlight (PS: No hate towards you).
While I get that still think we should've seen that in the past rather then just having exposition dumped on us. The classic line is show don't tell, I much rather see that then be told why Shimo is the way she is. It makes the human characters seem more like exposition dumpers than actual characters. Besides I still very much think Godzilla really didn't need to evolve in this movie because he was one shotting every titan and literally jumps on top of Scylla so he was already pretty agile. Yeah I should've brought I the past but again the past was only brought up cause the human characters dumped exposition on us lol, It's not even that I didn't do my research cause I know about their past I just forgot to include it and didn't really think it was necessary but I should have, which is prob why I should write out my thoughts more before just making the vid lol. Thanks for bringing it up tho and the criticism is welcomed too.

I'm just gonna be honest and say that I really don't wanna do it anymore, I got a lot going on in my life, I work a lot and I spend a lot of my time with other ppl too so really I work with my own schedule. It's a lot easier for me to collab with someone I know and I don't wanna keep making you wait, yeah I said I would do it but it's rlly not working out and I rather continue the way the things are rn. I hope you understand and again sorry for saying no, but at this point I just rather do things at my own pace rn and if I can truly collab with someone it have to be during a time where I literally have nothing to do and i'm free, which doesn't look like it's happening anytime soon. I watched all the MonsterVerse movies without seeing any trailers for any of them except a really short 5 seconds of a GxK one. The absolute best cinema experiences I've ever had. My favourite moment was Godzilla going thermonuclear. I hadn't seen it until seeing it on the big screen. I literally had water streaming down my face. Better than any superhero movie moment. I saw mechagodzilla in a youtube video title that spoiled it before I saw GvK. I had no idea the hollow Earth would be in GvK, nor that the Iwi tribe would live down there in GxK, and I had no idea there were going to be more ape monsters before going to see GxK. I feel like my expe5is so different from other people's, and that all reviews given by people who saw the trailers are an underrating Edit Phone changed nor to now 🤦🏻
Exactly my point I think ppl like you who don't watch these trailers or tv spots just have an overall better experience cause you don't know what to expect and when something is surprising it really hits you

Yeah but again that's us fans, to most casual audiences they poked fun at those films and didn't take Godzilla seriously
@@ShowyPopcorn Good news is Adam Wingard's Godzilla x Kong is the most profitable MonsterVerse film, and his top five favourite Godzilla movies are all Showa era except G Vs Destoroyah, so maybe the general public like it as long as the camp isn't above a 6/10 on the camp scale, and the monsters are motion capture CGI instead of man in a suit. The cinematography was also limited in the Showa era, because the CGI and modern motion camera tech was more primitive. You couldn't get a cool shot of the ocean waves freezing as the camera turns upside down and the music slows down, and you couldn't get epic close ups of Godzilla opening his eyes when he senses an unruly titan attacking humans, and the atomic breath couldn't light up the suit or look and sound as cool. Maybe Showa era was ahead of it's time. It couldn't really work for western audiences until new technological developments had been made, like if Van Gogh had died before oil paints were invented as a vessel through which his talent could flourish.
