H-115 Troubleshooting Automotive Relay Circuits with Vince Fischelli
มุมมอง 11K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Troubleshooting Relays can be a difficult electrical task given all the possibilities of how a relay circuit can fail and replacing the relay does not fix the relay circuit problem. It’s time to start troubleshooting the relay circuit with a DMM following a logical troubleshooting sequence. The Relay Circuit Troubleshooting Trainer, H-115 contains the H-PCB05 circuit board shown in this video. ...

      @vincefischelli7115 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, no used or rental units available. To study this module you must have the H-111 Starter Kit, another module, the 1st one of the 5. CAN Bus H-200 is the 5th module in the series of 5 electrical circuit board trainers. These are being sold off in sets of 5 to reduce inventory evenly. See www.veejer.com for details.

    i seen 250ish ohm one time when checking the system with the key on instead of off,with key off and everything asleep it went back to 60 ohm,just a variable i seen but wasnt just 250ohm at one point it was 500ohm so it seems we must be diligent in making sure there is no voltage present when taking the ohm test and it somthing that could be easily overlooked and have you chasing you tail

    Hi you have the same B- voltage drop at 7 .63 in three different locations then you say it’s a bad ground, but the other two points are 7.63 as well, the voltage drop is the same figure in three places,, but that one is out, I don’t understand , can you please help

    • @vincefischelli7115
      @vincefischelli7115 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everywhere you read 7.63tmauto3267@aol.com indicates the ground circuit is bad. When you read 0.10 the ground circuit is good. The ground problem (corrosion) exist between the last place you measured 7.63 and 0.10V

    Sir may i ask if i meassure a voltage drop accros the voltage side and found to much higher than o.78 there is a faulty connection on this part its possible that there is a high resistance in the voltage side circuit im i right sir subcriber from the Philippines tnx

    • @vincefischelli7115
      @vincefischelli7115 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The voltage drop could be caused by a loose or corroded connection.

    Sir may I know if the relay have a suppression diode or resistor if the relay installed in a circuit

    • @98audiquattro
      @98audiquattro 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well you can use a analog multimeter and check to see if the relay in question has a diode or resistor. You can also see in the vehicle electrical schematics or sometimes on the side of the relay itself will show an image. Hope that helps. 😉

    It would have been great to see old sheppo s needle move during the relay test. Early on as I was learning about transistors and didn't know about current flow ( negative to positive) I came across this unexplained fhenomenom at the time for me.and it was eye opening experience to find out that everything I had learned so far about electron flow now I had to reverse everything.I remember seeing images of an analog meter testing an NPN or PNP transistor I can't recall now ,but that was my first time I learned about conventional current flow and the real truth about the way electrons flow.its no wonder why this field it's confusing for a lot of us.thank you Mr Vince for explaining voltage drops and everything else I have watched your videos lots of times over and over and have learned a lot more about this facinating field.

    It was great could you explain how we get 240. Ohm resistance,either they are good connected 60 ohm or open 120 ohm Thanks

    • @vincefischelli7115
      @vincefischelli7115 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the wire connecting the two termination resistors is open on the + side or the - side and your ohmmeter test leads are at each end of the open wire the ohmmeter will see the two 20 ohms resistors in series.

    I have purchased some of your materials in the past. Vehicle ElecricalTroubleshooting Short Cuts, for example, has helped me immensely. I now work on a bus fleet which as you know has many add on electrical circuits and components. Yes indeed with mechanical maintenance/repairs one can schedule the time needed and be done. Electrical issues, on the other hand, can have a way of sneaking up on you robbing you of time and patience if you do not understand how to deal with them.
