Compost Top Dressing with TGU’s Compost DS & Leaf Mold Compost. Core Aerating & Fertilizing.
Some steps we suggest you follow when compost top dressing:
1. Rent a core aerator. You can rent this from a Home Depot Rental Center for $70 for 4 hours or $90 for a full day.
2. use 100% organic fertilizer.
3. Top dress with an organic compost. Double screened will have better performance.
In this video, we used Microfe 6-2-4 as a food. Azomite for trace minerals, biochar for structure and Microlife humates +.
The compost used in this video was made by us at The Ground Up in Northwest Houston at 9945 Windfern Rd. Houston, TX 77064.
The tools used:
Core aerator from The Home Depot rental center.
Compost top dresser from TGU.
A wheelbarrow.
Fertilizer spreader.
A shove and gloves.
The process took approximately 3.5 hours to complete two adjacent front yards.

Hey thank you so much! I really appreciate it when people make videos that they realize there not going to make a million viewers! But do it for the fact they realize that this can actually help someone learn something and expecially new landscapers! So I take my hat off to you sir!

Seeing the pile of material versus seeing bags is so deceiving. At the store it looks like three 40 pound bags of dirt is one cubic yard, lol. And the cubic yard of dirt doesn't look like very much. My conclusion is buying dirt by the 40 pound bags is a waste of money, the cheapest I found was $2.50/bag which is like two shovels full of dirt.
