Also remember you're a neurotypical, therefore you won't be able to see the harm it does to an entirely different neurotype. I have Autism and have done my research. Read an article from C.L. Lynch on Neuroclastic, and it shows exactly what I experienced- addressing behaviours before needs. In the UK we have done the right thing and shifted away from this hypocritical way of care. It may be awards only now, but don't be surprised when you find out that the awards are for realising that your feelings don't matter, and the only way to get out of it is to comply (C.L. Lynch). You're a wonderful mother on the tip of the iceberg and on SBSK you showed a lot of compassion, but please put needs before behaviours and the expectations of society.
