I have a 2020 equinox as well about 4 quarts

They did not touch the o2 sensors at all those are only to monitor the first set of cats. I'd check yourself and verify you have no leaks, because my exhaust guy threw a fit when I brought my car back to him and said he only found a small leak. Which isn't true at all when I checked myself I had leaks all over the place on the welds up top between the car and the exhaust. Just verify yourself with the vacuum method.

@@jtmracing2986 okay i was told ur supposed to take off the 02 sensors to weld around them or such , so what was done to urs did u get the leaks fixed ??? What is the vaccum method if u don’t mind me asking

It’s not restricted, and this isn’t a build. It’s an equinox💀mom car. Coming from a former crv owner, it ain’t worth spending money on.

Regardless the air will be hot once it enters the box. It’s made from plastic lol which doesn’t regulate or stabilize temperatures. Also how will more dirt enter the engine if the filter is placed on top which is catching any dirt trying to eventually make into the engine? Yeah the filter will be dirty more often. But if you think about it air is coming in and out of the bay so it’s not that hot.

@reviewithme9913 apparently you have never data logged intake air temps, comparing stock, plastic, true cool air intakes with these aftermarket mods or done oil analysis to show higher wear rates.

@@tssci6774 of course the temps will be different but not drastic enough to cause engine failure soon instead it will take time as the engine will experience different air temperatures and larger amounts of air intake. Engineers made these boxes with limited air intake for a reason. What we are looking for is better gas mileage when driving around windy places. Where I live it’s extremely windy very often. I drilled holes towards the bottom and away from the engine to receive cooler air temps. I also put in an K&H filter regular kind not the short ram cylinder ones. I was able to reach at least 20mph speeds with less press on the gas pedal. Believe it or not made a HUGE difference as prior I was pressing down on the gas for longer periods in order to reach 40mph. Also note that I have roof racks.

@reviewithme9913 never said it would cause engine failure in the short term. You need to find a better way to measure performance and oem doesn't design restrictive intakes. A $5 phone app and OBDII adapter gives acceleration, torque and hp data.

Save your money. Buy a sport car. Trust me, modding your car is not worth it and you’ll regret trying to mod it. I’ve been there. It is not worth it.

No intake, no matter the brand or car will "add" hp. At most intakes provide less restrictive air flow into the engine freeing up any "trapped" hp already in the motor held back by emission standards. Basically a $80 ebay intake is just as good as a $500 "fancy" named brand.

Im buildin the motor and turboing it this year. Gotta redo the entire suspension system too with new wheels on sticky tires. Have it on a stage 2 clutch kit w a lightweight flywheel short shifter all bushings have been upgraded to polyurethane aside from the shift linkage bushing which is billet header to tip exhaust and a 4 inch intake but its just not fast enough. It keeps up with the newer civics but im trynna hit 400 horse 380 ft lbs tq so its all gonna need to be redone 😂 love em and hate em

Where does it look like it's leaking oil from?

I see oil running on the side the timing belt on it’s more in the front

@thegayles2291 Could just be a valve cover gasket or a couple other things. What I would do is degrease and power wash the engine bay and then check it everyday till you spot some fresh oil building up somewhere.

No it's been boosted for a little while now, just cleaning it up bit. I haven't had any issues yet. She's smokes just in general due to bad piston rings. I haven't noticed any oil backing up in the turbo, which I have in the past with a different turbo oil drain line setup. I thought the same thing about it being really low too, but that's how the oil pan was when I bought it. So I said well let's give it a try and see what happens! lol but yeah no problems yet.

yah the 1.5's aren't known for their speed, the 2.0's aren't super bad or the RS's. The RS is def the way to go with the Equinox if you have the funds

Idk man! That sounds like you might have something else going on. Unless you have a huge exhaust leak, but Idk if that would cause your car to stop running. That sounds like you might a bigger issue.

It ended up being something completely different. The engine just quit. Nothing to do with the exhaust. Luckily I didn’t do any other work to it and the warranty covered it. But they replaced the entire engine

@@dannyd2639 wow that’s crazy !!! i have a cel code on my car just did 2nd cat delete just trying to figure out where the most spots are for the exhaust leaks on the caamaros

@@thatwhitemaro it seems for that CEL light due to 2nd cat delete most people are installing spacers with the 02 sensors on the primary cats and that should get rid of that code.
