Um excuse me, but what about the sacrament of confession? Surely the bishop is unable to mention anything heard in confession to anyone including the Pope? So was this “ confession “ not part of a religious sacrament, but just an answer to the “questioning” of a woman still under the effects of anaesthesia post surgery? I’m with the nuns!! However I would like to know just how many sisters were there living in the monastery. Also where is this happening?

There is not a remaining Catholic in my family. I am Eastern Orthodox and the others are born again Christians. You worry about Eucharist instead of the flock. You care more about dogma than you do about the soul. Do not pretend to care about a wafer thin dried piece of consecrated "bread". A slice of sweet potato, if consumed as sacred sacrament, is well received by Our Father. When the first communion was shared no one was on their knees. Communion suggests that we are together in our faith. Take off your gilded robes and wear simple garments that may have been worn by Jesus and the disciples. Bake unleavened bread and tear it, handing it to each so that we might share this memorialization of the body and blood of Christ. I must say who I am when I receive communion. I take consecrated bread and eat after fasting so that this nourishment is remembered as God's gift to me as his faithful child. The Catholic church still believes we need intercession to have a relationship.... a full relationship with Christ. My first meal after any fast is communion. I fast as a way to be worthy to receive communion. Christ did not feed the disciples, he shared. The Catholic church finds itself losing congregants so of course it must be the way Eucharist is shared. Metanoia happens every day when you are faithful. My great grandmother was a Saint and she said her Rosary daily. She barely ever walked into a church or received communion, but no woman was ever so filled by the Holy spirit of God and love as she The act of communion is a reminder. If you cannot remember who you serve and are faithful to, Eucharist is the least of your woes.
