I have been ordained as a Deacon for 25 years and have participated in daily Mass all these years. Standing at the altar over these years I have felt the presence of the Holy Spirit at every consecration. To the depth of my soul I believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

We must go back to the begining of our faith, when I was young I remember that we cannot received the holy eucharist without going to confession first, and during communion we receive the sacred host by kneeling with our tongue . I am 82 years old now and I still remember.

I am a convert and I am so glad to be Catholic. I now receive Communion on the tongue, but no one receives the Blood of Christ in our parish except the priest. I am not able to kneel due to joint pain, but I do the best I can. I also NEVER leave the mass until the priest departs and the organist and choir are silent. Finally, Mass is part of my Sunday routine from the way I dress to my rituals in the church. I enter the vestibule, sit down and turn off my phone. I take out my veil to be prepared for my special time with the Lord. Thank you for this video and I hope those who need it are watching it.

@@karenrich9092 I’m like you Karen. I never leave until the priest is gone. When I come to church I like to quietly just take in the surroundings, unfortunately lately people use it to socialize and not very quiet. I lived in Florida for a while and right after communion the church would be almost empty. People took communion and out the door right after. I think cut off pants and flip flops on your feet is an insult to the church. I think when you dress in your Sunday best that shows respect for the Lord and yourself. No more hats on women? We never went in church without something on your head even if it was a handkerchief. I know the main thing is being in church but sometimes I really miss Easter bonnets and people dressed up.

Things have to change to suit the demands of time. Receiving communion by the hand instead of tongue is for hygiene purposes. Some people have hard time kneeling, so it changed. Before, the faithful kneel around the altar while the priest moves back and forth to distribute which is hard for the old ones. At least, the church instituted these changes and the holiness of the Eucharist is not sacrificed.

There was a cloth flipped over the rail which we were supposed to put our hands under in case the priest dropped the Host, it would not touch our hands. This action made me feel that the Host was something sacred, something very special. It was easier to believe that the Host was truly the Body and Blood of Jesus. Receiving Communion in the hand while standing downplays the sacredness of the Eucharist. I think not believing it’s the Body and Blood of Jesus is the result. Who wants to have faith in a symbol?

It is important for us to remember that God looks to the hreart of each individual. Outward appearances don't necessarily reflect what is deep in the heart. Receiving the Blessed Sacrament on the tongue while kneeling is pleasing to God as is receiving in the hand either standing or kneeling. When an individual is in love with God it follows that they are drawn by God to want to hold the blessed Sacrament in their hand - it is a sacred moment which cannot be belittled. Christ is truly present in the Eucharist. Blessed be God forever!

The whole point of the Mass is to receive the Host (translated from Latin as "victim"), which is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ in a worthy fashion. Communion in the hand is responsible for the falling away from belief in the Divine Presence. The Novis Ordo is responsible for Catholic parishes emptying. The Latin communities are thriving as Rome attempts to crush the Faith.
These are the fruits of Vatican II.

    • @Justyouraverageguy172
      @Justyouraverageguy172 หลายเดือนก่อน

Sure. The Latin Mass Tradition alone is more holy and valid than Novus Ordo with Vatican 2 right? You are basically telling others that anyone who does not go to Latin Mass is not truly Catholic. The loss of faith is because of the breakdown of marriage and society with parents failing to catechize their children and become catechized themselves.

    • @andrewdaniels9698
      @andrewdaniels9698 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@Justyouraverageguy172 Well, that was a spectacular leap to a conclusion.
First, the Tridentine rite (the Mass of all time) was proclaimed to be valid in perpetuity by Pope St. Pius X, hence its name. He was speaking ex cathedra, in other words, with Papal infallibility. I would hesitate to say "more holy" than the Novus Ordo rite, but it is certainly more reverent. The suppression of the Latin rite is an act against Papal Infallibility which is a doctrine of the Church.
I did not and do not say that the Novus Ordo is "more valid" because such a thing is not possible - a rite is valid or it is not. The original Novus Ordo rite is valid. A reigning Pontiff, Paul VI, said so. However...
Many abuses have crept into the New Mass, such as communion in the hand, which was strictly forbidden yet pushed by Modernist clergy and laity. This (and other practices - see below) directly contributed to the loss of faith. It is woefully admitted that 70% of Novus Ordo churchgoers no longer believe in the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord present at the Mass. This is a grievous error and the person who holds such errors to be true has excommunicated themselves.
Many of the laity use the same hand motions as the priest during the Mass and are no longer genuflecting, but bowing. This also is strictly forbidden, yet allowed.
More importantly, the clergy has, in its acceptance of modernism, ceased to preach on topics such as the Four Last Things. The catechism is poorly presented (if at all) during the homily. The world has come into the Church instead of the Church going out into the world. Paul VI himself admitted "The smoke of Satan has entered the Church". Is it likely that these things would contribute to the "loss of faith is because of the breakdown of marriage and society with parents failing to catechize their children and become catechized themselves"?
There is so much more to be said on this topic but this is not the correct forum.
Pray for the Church. Ave Maria.

@@Justyouraverageguy172 Bearing in mind that this is not the correct forum to be discussing this...
Thank you for your question. In response, I will say that yes, I was aware of that method of receiving communion. Holy communion in the hand was the norm until early in the Church in Italy and later in Gaul. Perhaps the question you should be asking is "When and why was communion in the hand suppressed by the Church?"
Pope Saint Sixtus I (d. 125AD) said about the practice: “It is prohibited for the faithful to even touch the sacred vessels, or receive in the hand.”
The Council of Saragossa (380AD) declared “anathema” anyone who dared continue receiving Communion in the hand.
The Synod of Toledo (589AD) declared “anathema” to anyone who received Communion in the hand.
The Synod of Rouen (650AD) condemned Communion in the hand to halt widespread abuses that occurred through this practice, and as a safeguard against sacrilege. Furthermore, this same synod decreed:
“Do not put the Eucharist in the hands of any layman or laywoman, but only in their mouths.”
The Sixth Ecumenical Council of Constantinople (680AD) forbade the faithful from placing the Host in their hands, threatening transgressors with excommunication.
Saint Thomas Aquinas (d. 1274) said “Out of reverence towards this Sacrament (the Holy Eucharist), nothing touches it, but what is consecrated; hence the corporal and the chalice are consecrated, and likewise the priest’s hands, for touching this Sacrament.” (Summa Theologica, Part III, Question 82)
“The dispensing of Christ’s Body belongs to the priest for three reasons.
“First, because he consecrates in the person of Christ. But as Christ consecrated His Body at the (Last) Supper, so also He gave It to others to be partaken of by them. Accordingly, as the consecration of Christ’s Body belongs to the priest, so likewise does the dispensing belong to him.
Second, because the priest is the appointed intermediary between God and the people, hence as it belongs to him to offer the people’s gifts to God, so it belongs to him to deliver the consecrated gifts to the people.
Third, because out of reverence for this Sacrament, nothing touches It but what is consecrated; hence the corporal and the chalice are consecrated, and likewise the priest’s hands for touching this Sacrament. Hence, it is not lawful for anyone else to touch It, except from necessity, for instance, if It were to fall upon the ground or else in some other case of urgency.” (ST, III, Q.82, Art. 13)
Pope Saint Paul VI (1969) said:
“This method of distributing holy communion [on the tongue] must be retained, taking the present situation of the Church in the entire world into account, not merely because it has many centuries of tradition behind it, but especially because it expresses the faithful’s reverence for the Eucharist” (Memoriale Domini, 29 May 1969)
      Pope Saint John Paul II:
“I cannot be in favour of the Communion in the hand and I cannot recommend it. The priest has a primordial responsibility as a ‘servant of the Holy Eucharist and of all the Holy Forms’, primordial because it is complete. Touching the Holy Creations is a privilege of the ordained ones”
“to touch the sacred species and to administer them with their own hands is a privilege of the ordained.” (Domincae Cenae letter dated February 24, 1980)
Monsignor Juan Rodolfo Laise, Argentine Bishop:
“I know the history of the communion in the hand, was clandestinely reintroduced, disseminated on the basis of equivocation, and confirmed through unwavering disobediences… (to the Holy Father), by imposing over twenty-seven years a use that the Pope did not want to authorize because he considered as dangerous for the good of the Church, until they finally managed to spread it almost everywhere in the world.”
Jesus to Catalina Rivas, (stigmatized seer. Nihil Obstat by Msgr. R. Fernández, Bolivian Archbishop:
“There are neither 10 nor 20 executioners who hit My Body, but many hands that hurt My Body by receiving Communion in their hand - the sacrilegious work of Satan.”
      Bishop Juan Rodolfo Laise.
“With Communion in the hand, a miracle would be required during each distribution of Communion to avoid some Particles from falling to the ground or remaining in the hand of the faithful….”
      Fr. John Hardon
“Whatever you can do to stop Communion in the hand, will be blessed by God.”
(With many thanks to Catholic Arrows, the Holy Face devotion)
It is important to note that communion in the hand falls under the error of Archaeologism, in which practices of antiquity which were put down by the Church. The correct teachings have become dogma - what must be believed in order to be Catholic. Archaeologism is a part of Modernist teachings which where also condemned by Pope St. Pius X, who called Modernism "the synthesis of all heresies".
We shall move on to the issue of "ex cathedra" tomorrow. I hope.

The reverence and respect given to the Holy Eucharist must increase. In fact it is good if the Holy Eucharist is received on the tongue only!!

I don’t remember being taught in Catholic elementary school; that the Eucharist actually transformed into the body of Christ. If I was taught that; I just didn’t remember. I was away from the Church for many years; and returned a few years ago. I am 71 yrs old. I had always thought it was a symbolic transformation. Even so; the mass and communion were always held with deep respect. I was shocked to find out that the transformation of Jesus into the hosts is real. I have struggled with coming to terms with this. After many prayers and much reflection; I now do believe that there is the actual transformation of the host, and the wine; into the body and blood of Christ. There have been some miracles of late; where the Eucharist has started bleeding during the Mass. Also, I think the priests at Mass, need to emphasize this truth.🙏

I have been recieving on the tongue for a couple of years now. Something I heard said when churches started opening back up after the pandemic. I was instantly aware of how wrong it was to receive in my hands also not to receive the body of Christ from an EM because they are not ordained. Apparently others feel the same way, Father's Communion line is the longest one most days. I wish i could kneel and receive but knees dont work well anymore.

That is the way non-Catholics view the Holy Eucharist I have not noticed this in the very tiny Church in my town. I have heard there are those who dispose of the Consecrated Host so Family members will not notice that Communion was not celebrated. When I was in the state of sin I did not receive Communion and my Children asked me why, as a single Mother I sat and explained why, they respected my judgement and honesty with them and never asked again⚓️💕

Thank you very much for bringing this topic which has always disturbed me so much that we have really lost it as Catholics. I have always been against the idea of receiving THE LORD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH STANDING YET WE SHOULD DO IT WITH DEEP REVERENCE AND ADORATION ON OUR KNEES TO SHOW HONOUR AND HUMILITY. FURTHER MORE WHEN RECEIVING ON THE HAND HAS IT EVER DAWNED IN OUR MINDS THAT WE USE THE LEFT HAND THAT SYMBOLISES OPPOSITION, DISHONOR AND DISRESPECT JUST AS GOOD AS USING YOUR LEFT HAND TO GREET SOMEONE (BEAR IN MIND THAT I NOT REFERRING TO SOMEONE WHO MAY BE LEFT HANDED BUT AM REFERRING TO A NORMAL SITUATION WHERE WE ALL USE THE RIGHT HAND AS A SING OF RESPECT AND HONOR) What an act of Dishonour and DISRESPECT receiving Our Lord on the left . This only shows that we should not receive Holy Communion on the hand but on the tongue. We the Faithful should touch the THE HOLY COMMUNION WITH OUR UNCONSENCRATED HANDS EXCEPT THE PRIEST WHOSE HANDS ARE CONSECRATED FOR THAT. To make matters worse some do not consume the BODY OF CHRIST after receiving it . God what they do with it when they leave the Church after Holy Mass. ALL THIS CAN BE AVOIDED IF WE RETURN TO THE TRADITION OF OUR FAITH. MAY THE AGONIZING JESUS CHRIST RESTORE SANITY BACK INTO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH I PRAY AMEN 😢

I don’t believing that receiving the Eucharist in the hand is irreverent if done properlyk. When I receive in the hand, I personally pray to Jesus and invite Him into my heart. True meaning of Christianity "Christ centered in the Eucharist".
We cannot separate Jesus from the Father and the Holy Spirit because they are three person in one God - Holy Trinity.
When we receive Jesus in the Eucharist we also receiving the Father and the Holy Spirit, and we cannot touch our Lord and our God.
All that we offered to God materially and the person to offer it must first be consecrated and purified because God our Lord Jesus Christ is perfect and blameless. Touching the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is a PRIVILEGE for Ordained priest Only, no one else can touch our Lord and our God only consecrated.
God will test our faith base on Truth.

In this modern world, i experienced no respect for Jesus! People in Goa-India, just receive on the hand, young and the old. They dont bother, to see the minute particle on the hand, where the Lord's body and blood present in it. They throw the hand down and sometimes the holy particle falls down and the next person stamps it. It pains my heart. They dont care to see that the Communion is the Body and Blood of Christ Jesus. Elders are least bothered. So where is the love and respect for Christ as it was in the good olden days! Thank you Brother for this beautiful video.

Receiving the Eucharist in the hand and then having extraordinary ministers giving out the Eucharist are the reasons why I believe the Eucharist was started to be thought of as being only a symbol. The extraordinary ministers are all lay people, their hands are not consecrated. Only a priests’ hands are consecrated during his ordination ceremony by the bishop, so only the priest should be giving out Holy Communion to people.
