Hunter Local Land Services
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 3 ธ.ค. 2014
Hunter Local Land Services provides advice and services to landholders and the community to improve biosecurity, agricultural production, emergency management and natural resource management. Our region covers an area of 33,000 square kilometres which is home to around 670,000 people.
Emergency Plans in Isolated Communities - bringing communities together for emergency planning
Many landholders across the Hunter Region have observed the power of neighbours helping neighbours. Connected communities fare better before, during and after emergencies.
The Emergency Plans in Isolated Communities project (EPIC) of Hunter Local Land Services is responding to this community motivation. We are working with agencies, councils, landholders and their communities to proactively develop emergency plans through trauma informed community capacity building workshops and resourcing local leaders.

Great video. everything well explained and has supporting video - editor did well too. :)
I love how you localise the name. Helpful, not. In Gladstone they call it giant Rats Tail or rats tail. They don’t claim ownership over it
There 3. PG, GPG, and GRT. they all a little bit different but part of the Sporobolus family. We have all 3 on our property just under the Qld border :)
Arundo donax is a great source for biofuel, and its pretty hardy stuff. Idk why youd get rid of it, but rather relocate it and exploit it for economic uses. Its just like bamboo, you can probably make lots of money by selling the rhizomes. It also makes very good supports for structures and the poles make for good crafts
Top end of stupidity to use glyphosate.
My brother uses donkeys and Maremma dogs and STILL loses about $6,000 worth of stock per year to BOTH wild dogs and unrestrained domestic dogs. He says the prime reason is an enclave of low income housing that “feeds” replacement dogs into the countryside. A few years back, a pack of dogs ran his stud stock into a fence and so injured them he had to put half of them down and the vet bills of those that survived was in the thousands.
Excellent advice gents thank you!
I miss you soooo much daddy.❤❤❤❤❤❤
now THIS is epic 😎
Thanks for the tips.

How much sodium nitrate is needed to kill a large wild boar?
Good
👍🏾
i live in the high desert, az, usa. lots of cattle, no paddocks, limited water. i prefer the paddocks. we have mixed herds for beef.
Do they go out and feed the dogs every day?
You don't teach environmentalism through brainwashing. Parroting - thats all this is.
Beltrees that is where we used to go yabbying
Courtesy of my neighbours, It is in my backyard.
Courtesy of birds. 😉
They're literally everywhere, no matter how many times I remove them they just come back, the main issue is that they stink. So annoying
Good to see the donkey, great defenders of sheep flocks and other farm animals. Great video.
Terrific work ⭐️⭐️⭐️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Great to know that mistletoes are that are not a pest and to good for bird life
So it takes 2 kilos of this product to kill a hog. That must mean that there's only a tiny dose of it in each of those little balls of bait right? Why? It seems like 2 kilos is lethal but 1 kilo would be very slow death and .25 kilos would be really rough week. Very curious about this. I've always been anti poison but I'm open minded here.
No. A dog would have to eat about 2kg to harm it. Pigs eat a lot less. The sodium nitrate inhibits their ability to oxygenate blood. They are dead quickly. Do a web search for the product. They have a lot of info. 👍
@Patrick Ernst that doesn't make sense. If it takes 2kg to kill a 50-lb dog, then it'd take much more to kill a 150lb hog. But it's not a light switch either. If it takes 2kg to kill a dog, and the dog only eats 1kg, then the dog isn't walking away unscathed. It's going to either die more slowly, be sick for a week, or have some permanent issues. So apply that logic to a sounder. Those who eat a lot die quickly, others that eat less die slowly, those that don't die survive and learn! And dang people are complaining about an FMJ mag dump being unethical - this just seems brutal!
An excellent video. Thanks Mick!
I have a 5 month old maremma & she is taking her cues from my 10 year old labradoodle. Shylo is playing ball, tug o war, chases, she gets on well with the cat & children she watches me like a hawk & is great on the lead. I found it difficult to find the right info on feeding her. ATM as a pup, she is fed 2 cups of dry puppy feed with 1 cup of meat & 1 cup of mixed vegetables, rice & pasta. Another thing I have found controlling her barking instinct easy.
You look familiar? Don't tell me.... It'll come to me! 🤪

Why are there so many dead skinny trees and fire wood everywhere
Was a great day Well done..
Hunter- Love it- you made unusual edition-see u around.
Would be nice if some of that money we pay for the flood mitigation scheme as part of our rates was used to maintain the wallace creek floodgates so that they actually sealed properly, instead of relying upon local landholders to perform that maintenance at the start of an actual flood for free.
Are you telling us that land management doesn’t manage these floodgates I would like to know what height does the river have to be below for Wallis Creek to actually work
Still baiting with 1080? What happens when a bait is picked up and dropped by a crow inside the exclusion fence. Dropped 1080 baits are the main cause of guardian and domestic dog deaths after eating a bait.
How dare native Dingoes bite a few invasive sheep and reduce the profits of the select few.
Says you with lamb chops in your mouth.
@@jonglewongle3438 Actually haven't had lamb more than three or four times since I left the property 24 years ago and butchered my own crossies. No flavour compared to old man salt bush lamb. Basically all the poor buggas ate as well as mallee bush, but mate they had some flavour.
So sad, the amount of round up now in that ground and water source will damage life for generations. I hope the find a safe way.
all for ornamental and wind instruments. Humans screwed up the planet badly with bringing over invasive species. When he said apply glyopshate 2-3 times?! That's just sickening.
Thanks for all your hard work eradicating these pests!! What stops the native wildlife from eating the poison baits, though?
Great video Neil & Tom, I'd love to see a follow up on this pasture and any soil tests to see the nitrogen gained from the clovers.
How many local species do you kill with the 1.2 tonne of baits you throw out?
Very interesting have a patch on tagasaste tree?
Herzlichen Dank for this great report. Things seem to turn slowly for the better. Wandel durch Zeit.
