I just stumbled upon your channel and am grateful to have done so. I have a long history of feeling drained by the people I've dated; of becoming more of a therapist than a girlfriend due to their tendency to trauma dump on me. I've never wanted kids and have always been comfortable with that. I end up dating people because I have a high sex drive and crave a physical connection but, ultimately, always wind up feeling alone. My latest relationship ended 6 hours ago and it was a relief. Loneliness is far more palpable when you're with someone than when you're actually alone. The things left unsaid to not hurt each other's feelings, the disappointments of expectations that aren't met... all these kinds of things lead to such sadness and loneliness from being partnered with someone who drains you rather than being willing to rise to your level. I have a history of long periods of celibacy between men, 5 or 6 years at a time. I think it's time to extend that indefinitely, and cultivate my garden. Thanks for your insightful video and soothing voice.

Growing up, I believed any loss had to be replaced immediately, leaving no room for rest or deeper emotions. Being the first woman in my family to go to therapy, I’ve realized much of what I carried wasn’t even mine, and that’s helped me heal. I feel more free, sensitive, soft and authentic, but it’s also brought many endings I wasn’t ready for-because who will I be without all these things and people? I’ve overpersonalized myself with things so fleeting, but I’m learning to find gratitude in it all. Your video articulated so well what I’m currently going through-it reminded me that where there’s less, there can be more. I’m letting go of old cycles, clearing out clothes, objects, you name it! and trusting that God has what I need.
