    And then after it's on, zip ties cut and drum turned by hand the damn belt walks right off the outside of the drive motor pulley. WTF

    • @kudasindustries
      @kudasindustries หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the belt walks off when turning the motor on, there is an alignment issue between the motor and the drum pulley. Any misalignment between the two will cause the belt to walk. You can use a straight edge like a yard stick across the pulley faces and there shouldn't be a gap between the face of the pulleys and the straight edge. Your misalignment can be from a loose motor or bad bearings / rollers on the drum.

    I inherited one of these recently. Box had been opened but I don't think dad had ever used it. I was looking for a good instructional video and yours was the newest so I clicked. Info started out interesting, but then I became nauseous and puked. Had a minor seizure. Not sure if you were under a light with a ceiling fan or if it was camera settings and light syncing issues. I have heard of this on occasion but had never experienced it. Can't finish watching. Info is very difficult to follow without being able to see what it relates to. Maybe you didn't notice it. I went back and checked all settings on my monitor and and all is still perfect.

It lasted through several winters with over a foot of snow on it without re-tearing.

    • @kudasindustries

      The challenge is finding a 1.5hp replacement motor. With the new regulations, all pool pump motors over 1hp have to be variable speed and finding an original equipment 1.5hp fixed speed motor is hard to come by. My local pool store only stocks replacement pump assemblies. If you were to replace just the motor, you will probably want to replace the mechanical seal as well since you have to take it apart to get the motor out.

    A friend of my daughters inadvertently stepped on my old vinyl inground pool cover. It caused a rectangular tear about 3 ft long on each side. It is basically a flap now. Any suggestions on how I should go about fixing this and avoiding a $4000.00 expense for a new pool cover?

    • @kudasindustries
      @kudasindustries ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a tough one. I had a big tear where I sewed the seam back together with heavy duty thread then glued a patch of new vinyl over the stitching. I suspect that you'll have to do the same, sew the rip back together and then put a patch over the whole area.

    This video has been so helpful thank you! When connecting the wires, does it matter which goes where for the hot wires? Also what would you recommend if the old pump didn’t have a bond wire? 😬

    • @kudasindustries
      @kudasindustries ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's wired for 220V then it doesn't matter which hot goes on which screw. That only matters for 110V, in which the hot wire goes on the + or black terminal and the white goes on the - or white terminal. You can add a bond wire by driving a ground rod into the ground 3 feet and add a #6 wire from the rod to the motor. You can get ground rods from the hardware store or use a piece of rebar. make sure all of the ground connections are tight.

    • @kudasindustries
      @kudasindustries ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no adjustment on the rod. I feel like there's two potential causes of the tailgate lifting: 1) they installed the wrong rod. not likely but you never know. 2) the rod has been superceded to a new design or material which gives it more torsion. I bet Ford updated the part and gave it more power to account for heavier tailgates with the step in them.
