Hey, Animal health certification from our vet was £80. Then visited a local vets in Brugge for tapeworm (next video). Well Worth it and easy 😊

@ we never use sites it’s always wild camping it was just one night before we moved on to the Drove (Stonehenge) it was awesome to wake up with Stonehenge just a couple of hundred yards away from our “bedroom” window.

@@Thevanfarers On your run tomorrow make sure you disable the MAX charge for the leisure batteries. When max is on it takes extra power from the alternator to only the leisure batteries. Turning this off will give a stronger charge to the starter battery as well 😊

Hey, hopefully it was me and i left something on. We will see as will be using it. Trip coming up soon so will see. AA ran all the checks and everything came out ok.

I'm thinking I could maybe have left the fridge on, or an issue with the roof. It's been 3 weeks so potentially the leisure moved on to full battery, when the light started flashing. The aa man performed all the checks and couldn't find any issues. Hopefully it was me, will know if it happens again.

We called VW call out and they asked us to pop the handle and use the key. It looks like ours is German spec and possibly on the passenger door, which is close to the wall. I will take another look in daylight, then call VW for a home visit. Thank you for your help. :)

It may be on the passenger door as many cars are, the small plastic part pops off to reveal a key hole then you can unlock it with the blade of the key. Looks like the battery is flat as the side repeater is dim, there’s probably not enough power to operate the locks.

Thank you. When we parked up I put the van really close to the wall so can't get to the passenger door.

@ the small part of the handle that doesn’t move often has a slot underneath that you poke the key up into to lever it off to reveal the key slot.

Just checked mine, and yes - the key hole is on the passenger side door handle so yours will be too. Perhaps an interior light had been left on and drained the battery? I assume your van is still in warranty - you could always try contacting vw assist?

My T5 charges the starter battery when on mains hook up but his hook up lead is probably in the van !

@ Can you borrow one ? Friend neighbour ? That’s the easiest way to get some power in there, do you have home start cover ? Otherwise it may need jacking up remove engine under trays and introduce power to the main starter lead and a decent earth point with a boost pack to get enough power to unlock it (assuming the battery is flat). Look on the bright side it’s happened on your drive not half way up the Alps !

Cooking in a California is so easy. Keep it simple and use a Ridge monkey.

Thanks for your videos. We have really enjoyed your Cali adventures with Molly the Pump. We have continued to camp out in ours right through to November though it’s getting harder to find campsites that are open! Surprisingly warm inside and have barely needed to use the diesel heater. Bring on 2025! 🎉

@ we’ve currently settled on Paris, Lake Geneva and then St Tropez area before heading back to Paris on the at home. Some decent time in each. I’d love to head into northern Italy and across into Spain, but that’ll have to be another time. 👍🏻

Hey, apologies for the late reply. In winter we’ve kept the top down, but should one day get the silver foil for the outside. Too be honest though we don’t mind the cosyness with the roof down, heater on the Cali is amazing.
