Yup. Something I really liked about some more prominent fanfics in the early days of the fandom was pointing out that, for most of the universe, Rodimus would have been the preferred leader. It was a really fun idea, the concept that the Autobots (including Rodimus himself) would prefer to be led by Optimus, but the galactic federation Rodimus founded only want to deal with him and see Optimus as an old war horse.

I always like to keep those two close together. I figure, I got them on the same day and they’ve survived with each other, I like to think they’re buddies.

The funny thing is, he goes really well with Animated guys! He was not made to be an Animated toy, but a lot of the Animated designers worked on him, leading to this Hound have such a unique aesthetic.

He has a bit of an an crunch, but it’s really a transformation joint, and it’s not very strong when it’s not in its intended angle. This Hound really does have a style all his own. I put that on the some of the Animated team working on him.

January 3rd.

I tried to find good quality clips of Swindle in the season 3 episode when he tried to upcharge him for Trypticon’s transformation cog. No dice!

I don’t know, it was a fun shake-up. It gave us a cool look at a Cybertron under Magnus, and made for one of most unique continuities out there.

@@ronbondujon9690 It threw an essential element of the franchise's identifying lore out the window. At that point, they may as well have been gobots. It didn't read as 'fun' to me. It read as 'actively trying to deconstruct the identity of the IP'. It reflected a creative team that had contempt for the contributions of the artists that came before them.

@ On that, we’ll just have to disagree. To me, I see the literal ocean of references and homages that filled every scene of that show and see a team that loved every iteration of this franchise. At the same time, we can’t keep telling the same story. A shake-up every now and again gives both the creative team and the fans a chance to take in something new, but can also be an avenue for new people to come in. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve come across that got into Transformers because of Animated. Hell, I’m one of them! I used to have very similar feelings to the Netflix shows. I thought they were drags, just total snooze fests. At the same time, a lot of people started entering the fandom through those shows. Not everything is going to be for every fan, you know? I bet you and I could sit down and find 100 things about Transformers we totally disagree on. By the same token, I bet we could find a 100 things we agree on. That’s the fun of being in the fandom.
