At 5:45 minutes; I don't think it's strange. I've been to a vacant lot where people go to get free food that's delivered by a church and it is a great community service! The people are glad to see the ones who deliver the food every week and are so grateful. It's a place to see familiar faces and talk.

I no longer trust tractor supply for this reason. I bought 4 silver laced wyandotte pullets. 3 were roos. They had a bucket of sex links and one was obviously a roo lol. I just hatch my own now..apparently I need to lower my temp because the last batch was all roos 😂

They discontinued the cheese. They did the same on pepper Jack cheese

At the farm where I work we have 6 Brahma chicks who are now around 11 weeks old and I'm also trying to figure out who's a hen and who's a rooster. You can look at both physical characteristics as well as behaviour for it. Of one I know she is 99% certainly a hen, because she barely has a comb and she also stops and slightly bends through her legs to poop. Roosters generally just drop it while walking as if they don't care. One is possibly a rooster, because he(?) is occasionally acting dominantly, like he's trying to play the boss over the others just standing across them like he's such a tough guy and pecking them. But it's still largely a mystery

I tried those ramps that you made and I had a problem with them falling off the truck when trying to drive my riding lawn mower or a tractor up there they were dangerous unless they could be physically attached to the truck

I had just ended up with two roosters. After some birds I got it’s only really been over past two days I’ve noticed, but I only want eggs and I don’t want the rooster is going at the fact that there’s two of them in a small area. There’s a very high chance you’re gonna fight so I’ve had to separate them, and they are both leaving to go to different firms personally and unless you want to breed your chickens, there’s no need for the annoyance of having a rooster. It makes it harder again and take care of the chickens because we usually assholes unnecessary in my eyes unless you wanna hatch.

Im trying to do my deck but i used bondo wood filler on rough patches and cracks I really love the honey teak the austtalian gold oil but it leaves the white showing through the stain. Any tips beside using solid paint?

As someone who has only ever grown up and lived in the country, where our neighbor literally shoots off a canon and blows up Dynamite, I can't even fathom the fact that it is legal for someone to restrict you painting your front door. Like how does that ever come to be as a legally allowed situation

Looks really good. Different process than professionals would use due to labor costs of a multiple step process. We would drum sand decking, palm sand all other areas, pressure wash, brighten, stain x2, be out of there next day by lunch.

If you ever consider making a month-long residential homestead-living course for us city-folk, I'd sign up. I think I'd always be a cityboy but I like knowing I can build one from scratch.

This is also an option that is perhaps only possible in a wealthy, first-world, big country. Because in the old world, folks typically don't have homesteads, big farms, and ranches with all the creature-comforts of machines, tools, A/C, good building, etc. Most of the world, farmers are not owners, rural living is basically as dense as urban living without high-rises, you have a LOT of noise, since people don't respect noise rules (or etiquette) and just blast it into their cheap speakers. There is a LOT of people mucking about in your business. Cities, in these societies, is where progress, a good life, wealth, ideas, and dignity becomes possible.

HOAs need to be mandated. In places where people want a local government but there isn't any, that's all they do, provide amenities. In units that are physically touching each other (townhouses, condos), all they should do is decide a non-profit maintenance rate and keep maintain the community.

Great video! I don't even trust silicone utensils for cooking. I stay with stainless steel and wood. When using plain cast iron, acidic foods such as tomato, more iron will be drawn into the food. When I was a teenager I used to use carry aluminum cookware when hiking and camping because it was lightweight. But I was alarmed that when scrubbing them the water turned gray. At that time I did not know that aluminum was a neurotoxin but later stopped using them. People should know that most restaurants use aluminum cookware. Again, some of that aluminum is going into the food, especially the more acidic. Aluminum cookware should be illegal to use in any restaurant or other food preparation business.

If your meat is frozen hard and your lights go out, it will stay frozen for 24 hours with no problems. Growing up, in the country, whenever a bad storm was heading in, mom would have us take out the meat she was going to use for a couple of days. That way when the power went off, we didn’t have to go into our deep freezer. Dad always made sure that he had gas and the generator on the ready if it was off longer than 24 hours.

I was, not sure if I will continue. Why? Because they have a very flawed system for inventory. Once again, my order has been shipped missing items. One particular item I am now going on 3 months to get filled, with no assurance that I will actually get it next time. The items say in stock when I put them in my cart, and when I check out there is no notice that the item is not available, yet by the time I get notice of my order, the item (S) are not available. In addition, I find that their prices are not much lower, or any lower than in the stores most of the time. I do like that bulk sizes that are available, if you can get them.

What type of sand poler did you use for the deck? What grit did you use - 80? Assume you pushed down any nails sticking up?

I have loved all of my roosters but one. In my experience it seems like the dominant rooster runs the show and the other one just hangs out as part of the flock. Not sure if that's been luck or what. I do know it's hard to get rid of them when you've raised them from the egg. We had an Ameraucana hen that I would have sworn was a boy, but she began laying eggs.
