its the best one out there. took me 3 attempts at it. on the 3rd try, it all clicked and ive been hooked. its character building is the most fun ive had in any game. it also got me into pf2e!!

As an oldfag STALKER-fan (started with SoC back in 2007), I find it necessary to make a few things very clear to any newbies that think of getting into STALKER: The "GAMMA" and "ANOMALY" are massive MODS. They are not GAMES. They do NOT "combine all 3 STALKER games into one". They just take the maps and some assets from the core GAMES, and create a goalless, DayZ / Tarkov style sandbox with 'em. Often, they pour a shitton of bloat on top, like kazillion tacticool weapons that feel out of place, further altering the tone and feel. I highly recommend picking up the vanilla SoC, and playing through the OG trilogy in full, before touching ANY massive overhaul mod like this. GAMMA is NOT a good representation of STALKER!

I see you really liked the messages on the PDA. Check out a mod called: “Chernobyl Relay Chat Rebirth” it allows other players to all message in the PDA. Kind of makes it pseudo multiplayer. It’s REALLY cool and I play with it all the time.

I was by the burner ober by the swamps and it must have broken the AI spawns MORE because a squad of bandits and fleshed spawned right on top of each other right on the rim. That was exciting.

Played Shadow of Chernobyl back in 2009, and currently on my 5th playthrough of GAMMA with hard/hard modifiers (hard gameplay/hard progression). GAMMA is a challenge when first starting, but the progression feels so rewarding. The replayability is unmatched as you can play every faction, even cut ones from the lore. With the different factions, you interact with every other faction differently, like if you were a Loner, you're hostile to bandits and neutral with Duty, but as Freedom, you're hostile to Duty but friendly with bandits. The way you move around the map changes as you have to use different routes to safely navigate the map. Certain story quests change also based on certain factions, and you aren't hard locked to one faction as you can change to another one. Hands down one of the most amazing labors of love by a game community I've ever seen!

It's legit better than BG3 on multiple fronts, with a passionate developer team behind it (just like Larian). It only ever lacked in budget.

Bg3 is the better game. WotR is the better cRPG.

You can never overestimate how much of a badass this game makes you feel. You can mindfuck a goddess of mindfucks and riddles by saying "my spirit is too strong for you, shut the fuck up!". And beat her with your bare hands as a HUMAN monk. WotR protagnist is so much HIM he's up there with Doom Slayer, Dante, Kratos and others from the hall of fame

As a fanatic gamer from my childhood, i'm in love with Hardcore Survival games and especially post apocalyptic shooters with all those elements like looting, crafting, upgrading, cooking, etc... i've been played GAMMA for many years now and i can confirm that is my CRAZIEST AND BEST experience i had in my life. I don't think i can compare this to any other similar games. If you want to feel impressed for one time in your gaming life and didn't know about GAMMA, do a favour to your self and DON'T SKIP this experience. But BEWARE.....it's really HARDCORE for a beginner at early stage. :) And another plus is that is a complete single player experience so there is no way to meet another toxic boring player try to destroy everything you developed so many hours in real time like other online service games.

This might be my favorite CRPG. I kick started this after playing Kingmaker. I've done two play throughs so far first one was Swarm that Walks second was Golden Dragon. Next I'm thinking I might do a Lich play through.

Im spoiled by anomaly and gamma for year i cant even look back in vanilla stalker anymore. Its as the literal sense of honing your own experience as a fan curated mod. to the point that i mistakenly recall vanilla experience w/ modded Stalker

What I love about Anomaly/Place_Modpack_Here is how you can customize nearly every aspect of the game. Don't like the weapon repair system? Don't use it, etc. You can make it bespoke to each and every one of your preferences. It's an astonishing work in an incredibly detailed world.

I will say I’m not a big fan of gamma, I just prefer the more story centric approach of the games, but I can still appreciate its shift to a more scavenging / survival type experience for people who want that.

This is basically just a review of Anomaly's features, and doesn't really touch on the specific mods that GAMMA brings to the table. I can see some visual differences in the various interfaces, but this review is essentially about Anomaly's core gameplay. Almost everything spoken about in this video exists in the Anomaly/CoC/CoM framework. I just want a video that knows enough about the specifics to help me made a decision as to whether or not I should bother with GAMMA, or stick with my own heavily-modded instance of Anomaly.. "Hey, folks! Today we're playing the Frostcrown mod for Skyrim, and boy I tell ya. This mod has rideable horses, salmon jumping in rivers, a Civil War between the Empire and the Stormcloaks, and even dragons. This mod is absolutely insane"

they patched the A- life in stalker 2 its much better now ( the patch is really big XD ) .

the thing i hate about those hardcore mods are weapons. If you by some miracle defeat legendary stalker, you can get his gun, and it's trash that will blow in your face on first shot. Tried anomaly some time ago, got in the middle of a fight between factions, looted whatever i can, and got tons of weapon that dont function. If they focus on real living world, why we as a player are the only ones that have to take care of our equipment, while npc-s go on a murder spree with no gun jamms while their guns are literally trash. I would like to pick the mods again, but this seems like 20 hrs investment first to actually have fun

Everyone often views Stalker GAMMA as Stalker, when in reality that's not what Stalker was built from. Gamma was built to enhance Stalker for those hardcore fans. Stalker was a game meant to be tough, immersive, and scary. Gamma was built on top of those foundational elements to give to a more hardcore fanbase. When people complain that Stalker 2 doesn't contain the systems that Stalker GAMMA has, it's confusing to me because Stalker 2 is a true sequel to the original games while GAMMA was a completely different project. Stalker Gamma is a hardcore sim built on top of Stalker. Stalker is not Gamma by nature. Hope this helps :)

You mention it in the end of the video, but the customization is what makes this the perfect Stalker game for me. You can fine tune every aspect of the game to your liking.

to me the perfect stalker game in this day and age would be an extraction shooter, you get a pvp arena, a sandbox to explore in and idealy a focus on improving a personal hideout where you maintain and improve weapons and armor through adding artifacts and mutant hides found in excursions, imagine going into cordon vs 5 other players with 2-3 artifacts on the map for hotspots, sidorovich as another hotspot and mutants abound you have to skirt around as to not attract the attention of other players hwile not prepared, coming out with an artifact and enough supplies to attach it to a sunrise suit meaning you can go deeper into the zone where you get better loot but harder enemies and more skilled pvpers
