I was really looking forward to this, then i watched episode one. Maybe i didntvwatch the trailer close enough, or something.

From my perspective, it's an insult to what came before. And as a black man, I am getting sick and tired of this race swapping nonsense of turning redhead caucasians black. The hand-me-down blatant racism is glaring and insulting, instead of creating brand new characters of different ethnicities who are well-rounded characters. That and what they did to Harley Quinn and The Penguin turns me off from seeing this show.

Yeah, For the most part I agree with your opinions, the villains changes that they made here really bring it down for me. Like the villains were taken down way too easily and pretty makes it seem like they will most likely not show up in future episodes unless there is a jail break. Penguin I was first disappointed on because they changed her like you said with a stereotype which made me lose all interest. I hoped that it would become more of a mother vs son storyline where the son becomes og penguin and the mother becomes the another penguin and they fight for the title. Then Harley Quinn felt too different and has not a good enough connection with the og to be called Harley Quinn. Like if they showed us on why she became like this instead of the og Quinn I might get it but like it just felt like they used a different character and slapped HQ on her if you didn't know she was the og concept. At the end I didn't feel like any of the villains really had that intimidation factor where you felt like they were really a horrifying villain, not even the joker reveal(since he had that deep voice for some reason).

I think your take on the show was pretty close. One of the biggest issues I had was a visual vs. reality problem. Why was EVERY female in 4" high heels and why did they run/move as if they were in tennis shoes? This is a minor issue but it was too consistent. Hell, even Batman was in high heels (2" or so). I did not like the series (3 of 10). I MIGHT give a season 2 a chance or I might find something more important to do.

Thank you so much they’re trying too hard to inject modern sensibilities with an old style of animation and even the animation isn’t as polished as Batman the original animated series… that series was glass in a bottle and honestly, I think the entire show should’ve just been hand drawn to at least attempt to give that same vibe. The stories here are just not as deep, They’re very one dimensional and simplistic. Every episode of Batman the animated series felt somewhat different. Some were villain of the week,Some were morality stories, Some were detective stories,Some were just fun holiday stories, each episode of Batman: the animated series is just different, This show doesn’t really capture the same tone even though you see that they try to do that. if they get a second season I hope they pick up on that… also, I have to mention that there are a few sneaky propaganda and agenda based things in this show there’s a lot of LGBT tones and feminism tones in this show I noticed they made some of the characters overweight on purpose just to meet a quota I noticed that they put a bunch of females together on screen or just had them completely overshadow Batman at points in the show just to meet a quota I have no problem with female centric episodes, but when it starts to outshine the title character, then there’s a problem… I mean I literally just got through watching the original Batman TAS episode where are Harley Quinn was kicked out of the jokers game and joined up with poison ivy. Now that episode had slight lesbian undertones there was suggestions, but nothing was flat out stated or over insinuated, but in this new animated serious things are flat out and things are laid out too blatantly. It’s obvious that an agenda is at play and that is the problem with this show as well as a host of other things I’ve mentioned, also, as you mentioned before it just felt a little lazy that they just simply swapped out genders and things like that instead of making the characters actually interesting well, at least for the penguin character

Honestly soeaking, as a die hard star wars fan I am so disappointed with Disney and the acolyte. The genre and characters have so much potential, yet Disney managed to fuck it up again and again with lack-of-depth content and braindead script. Honestly at this point they should just get fans to proofread their script and correct everything that doesn't align with the original Star Wars universe. I doubt the scriptwriters and director have even read and watch star wars before💀
