I was a big Echo user until they were asked to honour a warranty and refused. That marked my last Echo purchase.

Good review! My 1st trimmer was an echo model 22xxx straight shaft. Pretty good reliable product, but that flexible shaft results in a lot of vibration and I had to be careful to not do more the 1-2 hours of work otherwise I got 'tingling fingers' - not good. Now using a shindaiwa t303 and despite 30% bigger engine, that solid shaft has much less vibration.

I have a new Toro lithium, it sucks, drive wheel falls/self-powers off in 2nd hour, battery shorts, and on-line Toro will not take it back. They do not take items back if you use it for 1 minute! Their rear left geared wheel unbolts itself from the bracket, it self destructs! Two others have the same problem. Their repair dealer literally told me "with Toro, its Buyer Beware". I have a Toro case number, a BBB case number, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission case number. Save yourself and learn from my mistake, and stay away from Toro.

Youd be better off getting the ferris. Its a little better to. I was told ferris makes them for stihl

Have you never had someone complain about debris hitting their vehicle or claim youve damaged their paint?

As a homeowner and not a commercial user, I went shopping for a new ZT mower last summer. I compared the Stihl RZ152 to the equivalent Ferris 300S with the 52” deck. Contrary to so many other comments, when shopping for this particular model, the Stihl was not an “overpriced” Ferris. In fact, the Stihl was cheaper. Even now, if you check the MSRP for this model on both companies’ websites, the Stihl’s MSRP is $200 less than the Ferris. Prices may vary at your local dealers, but they were pretty consistent with MSRP at mine (which thankfully was a little lower last summer). I think there are a lot of people out there who, for whatever reason, love to hate Stihl and are just looking for any opportunity to sound off about it. For those who are willing to be a little more objective and don’t have an ax to grind, the choice between Ferris and Stihl should come down to your local dealer support and price, and maybe color if you have a very strong opinion on that. Do your own research on the specific model you’re interested in and ignore the hype and conjectures of others.

Lol $2,000 is insane and out of touch with reality. You can buy 6 decent push mowers

What a joke ! This is not a stihl product ! They sell alot of items that are someone 's else product just painted and there name applied to it and charge 30% more for it

Scsg is not what it use to be , you could not give me this mower and at this price point what a joke , toro has it all over scag these days

All of these are going to bog down unless the push mower has multiple gears with a transmissuon. Better off getting the cheapest honda and saving this $ for a nice zero turn.

Those stihls are very very dependible and great trimmers. But they are so unbalanced and just want to twist belly up in the hand.

Shindaiwa t262 ftw every time.. i personally own the shindy c262 (u-shaped handle) and it is the most reliable, best running trimmer/brush cutter ive ever used

Buy the Ferris mower and save yourself $3000. When you buy a Stihl mower you’re just paying for the name and the paint job. SMH. 🤦🏻‍♂️

All i hear is complaining

Truth be told all these trimmers are good ! Pick the one that feels best in your hands ! The bigest factor of how long they will last is how well they are taken care of !! And good quantity OIL ! I have 2 Shindaiwa trimmers a T-230 & T- 231. Both are over 25 years old with insane amounts of hours and both run perfect to this day ! Some day I would like to try a RedMax !

wright standers have been the best ive ever used personally. i havent used every mower but at this point im not sure if i care because wright standers hit every mark for me as is.

I’m glad I had my local landscaping store special order me the Shindaiwa T262 versus buying the Echo off the shelf.

A motor is electric an engine is combustion. I’m that guy 😀

As an owner of a PAS2620 and T302, I’m thinking the opposite. I’ve actually put the echo throttle control unit on my 302, because I find it more comfortable 😂. Also, the way echo tuck its wires with the metal bracket keeps them from snagging stuff in the back of my truck. Personal preference, I love my 302, any time I’m looking to buy a trimmer, it’ll probably be a Shindaiwa. Much love from Barbados, my brother! Hopefully one day you can take a vacation here!

HELP. (Question for anyone). I love my old Toro AWD (all wheel drive) mower with BTAH (blue traction assist handle) but the new Toro AWD mowers (21472) have baby carriage handle without BTAH. How do I add BTAH. Thank you. Toro's BTAH (Blue Traction Assist Handle) converts Toro's PPM (Personal Pace Mowers) (which requires a person to push Toro's heavy mower forward before the self-propelled drive kicks in) to ((easily without effort) controlling Toro's self-propelled drive with just your fingers and hands without moving forward). This is needed on steep hills where you need the AWD Toro mower to pull you and this powerful AWD mower up the hill without any effort on your part. The powerful Toro AWD mower can do this only with BTAH and not by Toro's PPM (extra exercise mode). Without BTAH you end up pushing this heavy Toro mower up the hill even with AWD. It is a shame that Toro has gone (woke not work) with this useless new Toro curved baby carriage handle. IMO. Thank you for your help and understanding this Toro (back breaking) mower issue.

I'm not a landscaper, don't plan on being one, and honestly, don't want to be one. But I'll be damned if this guy had me wanting to spend $400 on a trimmer when i was going to spend half of that. Nice video and good job, now go sell some ice to the Eskimo's (can i still say that in 2024?)

What does mean "buffers"?

Bobcat made a similar mower 45 years ago...heavy duty, aluminum deck, B&S flathead and greasable ball bearing wheels. I still use mine weekly (bought new in 1978)

The Echo 2620 and Shindaiwa 262 are exactly the same if you take the guard off. The 3" difference in cutting swath magically disappears for some reason

Shindaiwa great machine

I sure as hell wouldn't buy a ferris after all the mowing i've done with one. Ride is worse than a mower with flex forks, uneven cutting with their suspension system and the controls don't feel fluid at all.

I have a shin T242X. How do I put the brush blade on. The bolt in the head won't unscrew. I have been trying to go rightly to unscrew the bolt still won't unscrew. Help !!

I’ve owned 2 shindiawas since 1990. I live on an acre and spend roughly 2 hours trimming each cut. Reliability and value is more important to me . Also my Shindiawa is balanced evenly. So following terrain contours is effortless. Again, 2 units in 34 years. ❤ Shindiawa !!!

I use an old 36 inch Lesco commercial self propelled mower just for my house . This unit would be great for me since I can’t always get into tight spots . Definitely going to look into this mower . Thanks for sharing
