My master piston was not returning to the little port. Aftermarket levers. I can't believe I did not see that. Thank you very much Sir.
@@JimBliss-l7u glad to help!
I've heard this before....I can fix a carb on the trail. If you had efi, you would not need to do the repair in the first place. Carbs suck. That's the true pain in the ass. Storage, reliability, altitude compensation, easy starting. The DR was also considerably more price point wise.
Love you guys’ conversation

What’s the point of the f3 if you just have a wireless setup? I’m new to audio
@@SaffyLabby So the benefits of the F3 is it has a line out port that has cleaner preamps than any camera even the expensive cameras which gives you a lower noise floor which results in cleaner and more professional sounding audio. The second advantage is you can record separate high quality 32 bit float audio internally to a micro SD card on the F3 that will never clip or be distorted no matter what you record. The third advantage is it gives you 48v phantom power to use high quality shotgun mics. So there are more advantages to using the f3 but those are the big ones. Hoped this helped.👍🏼

Correct me if I am wrong but the signal coming out of a wireless receiver is line level right? But you have it set to mic level
I think the line level setting on the f3 is too weak and I don't get a signal. I remember trying all the settings and the mic setting was the best.
@@jamesgaszak3685 Ok. I was considering getting the Zoom H1 XLR not for the price but for the combo jacks so I can use lavs and boom mics with 3.5mm jacks in a small package. Beyond the combo jacks I’m told the F3 is far better than the H1 XLR. Found out the hard way that you can’t just use any XLR adapter so I wanted to be sure before I buy a F3 that it will work for my use case.
Great video. Beautiful landscape. I bought a Hawk Tuah 50 a while back because I always wanted a dual sport. I'll keep it because its my first love but im saving for a Jap bike to feel complete. ❤ Thanks for the perspective.
I noticed the picture quality of the RCN2 versus the RC2 the RCN2 picture quality in the library from your phone are much much higher than the RC2.
Just got the last things dialed in on my 75 ironhead Norcal build. I converted her from a generator to an alternator and installed an electronic ignition; capped it off with a CV40 carb because ironheads love cv carbs. I really don't need to do anything on the regular besides change the oil and adjust the tappets.... maaaybe adjust the rear brake a bit if needed.
can a dirty brake fluid cause it to lock? heres what i did clean out all brake calipers rotors pistons etc.. adjusted the pushrod. my brakes were fine! not until it gets hot brakes will lock up and i have to park it for few minutes brakes will unlock again when it gets cold. could it be contaminated fluid? note: it would only lock up when it gets hot
@@Taylor-jq6rl yes dirty fluid can lock your brakes. Once oxygen or water gets in the brake fluid that causes pressure when it boils from heat. Just like a pressure cooker the fluid pushes against the pistons causing them to lock up. You have to flush the lines but I would rather you replace the lines entirely because that will ensure there isn't any moisture getting in from dry rotted old lines. Brake lines are not expensive and it will be more safe and reliable.
There are a few pluses with the RC-N2/3. First, you can live stream with different apps on your phone. Second, since cache videos are stored on the phone directly, the quality is good enough for instant sharing, and you don’t even have to download from the drone. Third, controller battery life is better. But if you’re looking for convenience and more customizable buttons the RC-2 is the way to go.

Do the pilot jets just get tightened all the way down or is it two turns out? I’m not sure if mine is air idle screw or pilot jet on an ex500. Assuming it’s air idle that is exposed on the bottom of the carb
@@KollynJ I start with 1 1/2 turns out then go an 1/8th of a turn each way after riding it about a mile to see if it's better or worse.
@@jamesgaszak3685 ok. Your pilots are located on the inside? I believe mine are accessible from the outside
The pilot jet inside the carb does get seated all the way down - gently. The air fuel mixture screw normally gets screwd all the way in then out about 1 1/2 turns then adjusted half a turn either way. If you have your pilot jet out read to see what size it is. It should be standard. the main jet is worth reading also. Some bikers change the jets far too much away from stock.
@@KollynJ the pilot jet is inside the carb bowl. The air idle screw is usually outside the bowl where it can be easily accessed. The pilot jet gets seated fully. The air idle screw usually gets seated then turned out 1.5 to 2 turns.

The KLX300 have been around for a long time I have a '98 model and there's at least 28HP
I spent probably 6 months trying to decide which bike to get for my first dual sport and had it narrowed down to the crf300l Rally and the DR650. Ended up going with the 300l for the fuel injection just because I had planned on riding at elevations from sea level to 13k ft and didn’t want to mess with the carb. Pitched one up with 4k on it and have had it about 6 months and 8k more miles now and have been super happy with it so far. Still think there may be room for a DR somewhere in my future though.
@@drewhiggins829 Yeah the crf300 is a great bike. I do highway a lot and needed a bit more power. Glad you are happy with your bike. 👍🏼

Thanks. Glad to help.
On the first week of riding on the highway the engine sputtered. I immediately turned the petcock to Reserve. But the engine shut off. I was on the middle lane and had to walk the DR to the curb. It was during Covid and on a Sunday morning. Had it been a week day I would have been run over. I have ridden 16K since. I installed IMS tank, purchased 1.5L fuel bottle and also installed a 5L fuel can. But, that near death experience has never left my mind. A lack of fuel gauge is what I hate most. I have a love-hate relationship.
@@gromit576 yeah fuel gauges should be mandatory.

Xvive U5T2 just doesn't stack up against DJI and Rode. Even with replaceable batteries, you could lose them or they could get damaged. For real-world use, DJI and Rode are way better.
So the dji is unprofessional because of the 23ms latency. Your lips and audio never match up and the rode will die much sooner because you cant replace the batteries. Plus the mics on the xvive dont sound so bass heavy like the rode does. Plus you can buy almost 3 xvives for the price of 1 rode and mic up to 6 people. But the sound is subjective and the rode is smaller but i heard its more fiddley to use. The xvive is as easy as it comes. The rode and the dji do have the 32bit float which is pretty nice. The xvive is definitely an unsung contender in the world of wireless mics.
Carbs are great if your not in a colder climate, and there is nothing worse than being a one bike year round commuter, and having touchy ass carbs or a cold natured bike. But yeah if you ride everyday you’ll probably gonna be good, depending on elevation and temperature
@@davidgearardo1788 yeah real cold weather it does take a few minutes to get the carbs running smooth. But when they get going they are pretty solid. I think they are still more reliable than fuel injectors if not going up and down in elevation.

Thanks for the video. I have some questions. My worry with N2 controller is what would happen if I get a phone call. That's biggest concern coz I keep getting calls. Can we turn on aeroplane mode or the app needs internet? 2. Some day the joystick is not good when compared to rc2. 3. Whether buying extra battery and charger becomes expensive when compared to combo pack?
@@roninr8199 your phone calls just hit the dismiss button. Your drone will still fly during a call. I have no clue what you meant by the second question. The third question is it's cheaper to buy separate batteries. But the quick charger is nice to have.
@@jamesgaszak3685 thanks for the info. I wrongly typed day instead of say 😁. Read that joystick of rc2 feels more premium than n2 controller.
@@roninr8199 Im not sure. I never use the joysticks. It is more precise without them.
If anyone needs some questions answered about the zoom f3 send them my way.👍🏼
Hi, I am very new to the sound world, but wanting to know more. I am looking at buying a radio mic setup (like the Sony UWP-D27), but that option seems to only allow me two transmitters/lav mic setups, and I want to know how to record with 3+ transmitters. One receiver could go into my camera, but then could the second receiver for the 3rd and 4th radio mic go into a Zoom F3? Or is that a complicated way of using multiple radio mics? Any advice appreciated. Cheers.
@@jimmyjthorn what you would do is get 2 wireless mic systems that would give you 2 receivers and 4 transmitters. Then you would plug in 2 of the receivers to each input of the zoom f3. That way you have four separate tracks in stereo mode to be recorded in 32 bit float audio internally. Then you send from the line output of the zoom f3 into your camera to record a track with 4 peoples audio that is baked into your cameras recording as well.
The big thing about buying a wireless mic system is getting a solid system with low latency so your lips and the audio sync up properly. Second is you want a system that doesn't cut out often. I recommend the rode wireless go, rode wireless pro for internal batteries built in systems. For external battery systems which are better for long term are the xvive u5t2, the deity theos, or the Boya wm8 pro k2. These are all great options for wireless mic kits.
@@jamesgaszak3685 If you connect the line output of the F3 to your camera, is there a way of separating the 4 people’s audio which I assume ends up as one track? I understand if there are 2 tracks merged into one stereo track - one goes into the left channel and one into the right, then you separate - but how does that work with 4? Or do you have to import the tracks separately from the F3 and the baked-in file is just for reference? Thank you for your replies!
@@jimmyjthorn yeah the line out to the camera is baked in so you can't separate those tracks. But the f3s internal tracks you would need to use two different wireless mic systems with two different receivers for the 2 inputs on the f3. And then if you recorded in stereo then you will have 2 tracks per input channel. A left and right channel. That way you can adjust the individual tracks separately.
I learned some stuff here. I put loads of grease on the tips, just gunk it right up in there, but I won't anymore. Might be why my rear is always dragging. PS: braided steel isn't there to be tough or provide longevity (this is just a bonus), it's there to stop the rubber hose expanding when you apply pressure. They are for better braking performance. I have so many problems with brakes, despite low mileage and I just learned that where I ride economically, with minimal brake use so save my pads and petrol, it's actually what causes them to seize up, because they never get heat in them to allow them to be worked. Going to have to change my riding habits and end the false economy. I just freed up some sticking pistons with brake cleaner/a boot lace and brushing Dot4 round them, but somehow after putting it back together the wheel is binding even more than it was
@@ArcanePath360 yeah those pistons are super tight. I use a touch of lithium grease when I rebuild them.
@@jamesgaszak3685 I sprayed lots of silicone grease round them and used a speed clamp to keep working them in and pumping out. I also tried brake cleaner and Dot4 but they just keep binding against the rotor and are very hard to push in with both thumbs and all my strength. Starting to think something else is wrong, maybe with the master cylinder? Unfortunately I'm no expert when it comes to brakes
@@ArcanePath360you should try a different company for new gaskets cause if you have old gaskets and the air hits them for the first time in 7 to 10 years of them being in a locked air tight system they might get super hard really quick. So get new gaskets in a rebuild kit. If you have spokes make sure they are trued properly. And lastly get a whole new brake caliper. They usually are pretty cheap and then you can determine if it was the caliper or if the forks are bent or the mounting plate for the calipers got bent somehow.
@@jamesgaszak3685 Thanks. My bike is 10 years old with 30k on the clock. Not sure how long the average seals are supposed to last. I've never taken the brakes fully apart as it's beyond my comfort level, just exposed the pistons and cleaned them. I noticed a little corrosion on some pistons, but strangely those aren't the ones that are sticking. I'm going to bleed them tomorrow, perhaps air got into the system. It isn't the forks because it's the rear one giving me the most trouble. The pads had worn down to nothing, despite not even using them. Luckily I had some old pads that weren't completely worn that I could put in. I think too much of the piston was exposed to the elements while driving in crap weather.
See my front wheel in dragging on the front brakes I've replaced the pads before and never had this issue but I replace the tire and after I realized the front wheel isn't really spinning free when I take off the calipers it spins free
@@Pubbernickel8 your rims might be bent. Or your forks are bent
@@jamesgaszak3685 rims are fine it's possible the forks are
@@Pubbernickel8 sometimes new brake pads need to wear down a bit and are too tight when they are new. Think if you added any mods to the bike on the brake system.
