    Thanks for the video! Can you please tell me - can I use it as a microphone for recording on a PC via an external AUDIENT ID4 MKII sound card? If I connect an external condenser microphone to it, then the recording will be on both the recorder's microphone and the connected external one - right?

    • @CraigSmithCinePhoto
      @CraigSmithCinePhoto 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey! Thanks for watching. Yes, you should be able to use the Zoom H4n Pro with the Audient iD4 MK2 by connecting the Zoom's line-out to the iD4's input. You can also record a condenser mic (via XLR) and the built-in XY mics simultaneously on the H4n Pro, giving you up to 4 channels. For the best sound quality, consider using the Audient’s preamps if the condenser mic is your priority. Let me know if you need more details!

      @@CraigSmithCinePhoto Thanks for the quick reply! Audio Technica AT2020 microphone. But in general, the task is to record what is happening in the room at a distance of about 2 meters. Will Zoom H4n Pro normally record voice and guitar for such purposes?

    • @CraigSmithCinePhoto
      @CraigSmithCinePhoto 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ДмитрийХохлов-с8в that's not a problem! Using the onboard phantom power your mic will be great. And using a mix of the x and y mic for room ambience and the condenser mic for closer will work great as in post you'll be able to shape your soundscape the way you like. Retaining the live feel but having more polished crisp audio capture of the performance. Hope this helps :).

    I’ve had this one for several years until I recently moved out of state and literally cannot find it. I just make videos at home mostly but I am working on a documentary (first time woohoo). Anyway, now I’m shopping for a new audio recorder/solution. I have a canon c300 mkii. I want to make sure the audio is as perfect as I can. Of course. I have some xlr lav mics but I want to record separate just in case. So, now I’m watching videos to see what my options are. Great video! I have one of the original models of this thing. I used to make easy money just recording live bands back in the 2010s. My setup was putting this thing on a tri-pod up high to capture the ambient live air sounds and then run 1 "line out" from the mixing board. I'd get 2 separate audio tracks and then mix them together in Audacity after the show. Highly versatile device!
