I now only make handmade gifts for family and friends who craft themselves and who ‘get it’ and realise that it takes effort but it’s done with love. Some lovely ideas. Thank you. 😀
Thanks for sharing my family love handmade gifts but it took some time and it grew on them lol
Wonderful ideas! Love the apron!! When I give a book, I also like to give a handmade bookmark.
Some lovely ideas! You’ve given us viewers the greatest gift -by sharing your ideas today. Well done! ❤❤❤ Suzanne
❤❤❤
I love the Japanese knot bag.
So sad that people don't appreciate hand made gifts. I'm very fortunate that my family and friends do appreciate it. We are also a family that love thrifted gifts.
Your ideas are wonderful. I’m definitely making the lavender hearts. The jewelry pouch is very pretty! Thank you for sharing. Your apron is adorable :-). Sometimes people don’t realize how hurtful it is when you gifts are rejected. Anyone can run to a store or order online. Time and love is stitched in anything I make xx
THank you...great ideas.. Now to get at them
Yes my family really have made it clear they don’t want my handemade gifts - it makes me sad. I love your work around though. Maybe I make some hearts - they are so cute x thank you for sharing xxx
Lovely ideas. Thank you so much for supporting the challenge 🎁
I have only a few people that I create for now. Others were not happy with what I was making so I focus on those that look forward to hand made gifts. Keeps me from being so crazy during this busy time. Great ideas. I am making an apron for my SIL, a purse for my mom and embroidered and made pockets for RTW sweatshirts for my stepdad. I appreciate the packaging ideas. My friend has a travel jewelry organizer like that and she loves it. Melanie always had great ideas and instructions. I still miss her😢. Have a great holiday and happy sewing!
I actually didn’t get my box until Friday, Nov 8th. Luckily I was able to avoid the spoilers. I received the night sky I think it was called. Purples and pinks. I appreciate the note about what you use the smaller boxes for. I have a lot of that type of stuff and needed a way to organize it.😊 beautiful skirt with the February fabric. We are loving the crazy warm fall weather in Kansas too, although I think it is about to come to an end.
Such pretty knits you have been busy with 🩷💛🤍
I got the same colourway and I love it. It was my favourite of the 3 colourways. They are all gorgeous though. Looking through Andrea's book though, the jumpsuit really caught my eye. I'm always thinking dresses when I have viscose, but this time I think it's going to be a jumpsuit very similar to the one in the e-book. I don't have that pattern, but I do have some that look a lot like it. Your skirt looks really cute and autumnal. I remember how disappointed you were with the colour, but as a skirt, it looks really good on you. I haven't sewn it up yet, but it will be a jacket, like a denim jacket style, when I get around to it.
The fabric you received does look like autumn leaves and will look beautiful as a wrap dress. I believe you could make it work using the Zadie bodice and pockets. I also like the Maison Fauve skirt. It looks great with the top you’re wearing. Have a great week.
Thanks for watching Cynthia. I appreciate it. Is it difficult to watch the unboxings now that you’ve unsubscribed?
@ I have been surprised that it hasn’t bothered me. I would have loved the denim box. I have splurged on some other fabrics since discontinuing my subscription. I may continue to do that instead. 😊
Great to see you and your unboxing! The children’s play in the background is lovely, so no worries. Your voice is clear and easy to hear ❤❤❤ . Love the outfit you’re wearing! Stay well and enjoy the autumn weather! 😊
Thanks so much for watching and all your kind words.
Hi Vicki, I love the dress you are wearing 😍. All the fabric you showed are just gorgeous, but my favorite is the 3rd piece, I think it would make a beautiful shirt dress. Nice visiting with you, Katinka
You could toile a shorts and short sleeve version of the pajamas.
Hi Vicki. Your Shirt dress is beautiful. I just heard of this challenge this year and it's interesting to see. I have precious fabric I'm just not ready to part with just yet, but maybe next year.😅
Oh Vicki, I don’t envy you at all all. Having to choose from these extremely gorgeous fabrics is so hard. My favorite is the last one (expensive shipping 🤣🤣). Good luck 🍀 💖💖, Karen.
You have so many great ideas. I might be stealing some of yours😆
The big print could be nice on a shift dress or a shirt dress
The Liberty print will make a fab short sleeve blouse and be very wearable. I seem to remember that pattern has lots of small classy details especially suited to a precious fabric.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful fabrics! That abstract landscape is gorgeous!
Love your fabric and I can see a kimono robe with it. Can wait to see what you pick.
That last fabric is so beautiful, canr wait to see which one you pic and your make. Good luck 😊
Love, love your fabrics! You really nailed the fit on the dress you’re wearing. I have sewn w Tana lawn fabric and have concerns that it doesn’t have enough drape for either of the patterns you mentioned. I recommend a more structured blouse. I sewed the Fitzroy from Liesl & Co and love the fit and the sleeves have some tucks at the cuff. As for that wonderful drapey print, it is made and you have enough to make a tiered dress I’m thinking Pattern emporium Meet You There or Take the Chance. Whitney made a beautiful MYT dress. If you can’t go gathered, a wrap style dress would be lovely as well. Can’t wait to see your makes!
Thanks so much for watching. I’ve worked on that shirtdress pattern for a couple summers now, thanks for the kind words about the fit. And thanks for the pattern recommendations, I’ll definitely check them out.
Hi Vicki, your plans sound great. I hope you use the Lady McElroy fabric, I think it’s called Life in Venice. It’s so beautiful. I made a gift for someone using this fabric and have never seen them wear it so I’d love to see it being worn. Maybe a shirt dress that doesn’t have too many seams to break up the pattern? It is quite lightweight so might need a slip or lining. Good luck, whatever you do.
Thanks so much for watching. Yes, Life in Venice is the name, thanks for reminding me. It’s so disappointing when someone doesn’t use a handmade gift, but they’re probably saving it because they treasure it so much.
Love your pink feather fabric. I wonder what you will make? Looking forward to seeing your finished make 💖😊
Thanks so much for watching.
Love the pink, Vicki, we were together in Rochester and I bought some of the pink fabric too. I love it just as much, I have older precious fabric, but certainly could use that for this challenge. Seems more of a spring fabric, tho. Can’t wait to see what you do with it. Love, love the McElroy print, see it as a shirt dress. A fun challenge for sure. (Deb)
Thanks for watching, Deb. How could I forget our max dash over to Ginny’s to buy that fabric. Funny how you haven’t sewn yours up either. Miss seeing you on Instagram. Hope all is well. My Country Dancer rose really took off this year.
I got the same color way and was so happy I did! Although I agree that either would have been wonderful! I was supposed to get mine on Tuesday also, but my mail lady delivered it to the wrong house. I was so upset. I had to go the post office and have them look up what happened to it on Thursday. She has to go retrieve it and bring it to me. I was happy that it was unopened. I may wait until late winter to make something with it. I get the extra fabric because I am a larger woman and i like to have options. Your skirt looks great so far. I gave that fabric to my daughter because it suits her better. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much for watching. I’d be so upset to have my pink box delivered to the wrong house. Glad to hear you got it back. Better late than never, I guess.
It's always interesting to see what you get in your boxes. What was different about the way the zipper was put in and would you use it elsewhere?
Thanks so much for watching. Yes, even though it’s not finished yet, I definitely think I’d use this zipper insertion again. It’s sort of done by sewing it down and then pressing the fold in place, kind of opposite to the usual way.
Oh, I am glad you received the color way you wanted. Yay! 😃
Thanks for watching, Cynthia. You really couldn’t go wrong with either colorway but I’m always happy to have pink. 🩷
Ahh ! You made my knitterly dreams come true! I was thinking how much I loved the yellow Estonian shawl and that the only thing I would wish for from a knitting show from you would be a Bohus. AND THEN you showed the Spring Bohus! Heaven. I'm a happy Viewer!
Stunning knits as always. Hugs, Deb
Thank you so much! ❤️
How lovely to see all of your knits. The yellow shawl was stunning. What was the name of your hat cast on?
Thanks so much. The hat was cast on with regular long tail, only with a double strand of yarn around the thumb.
I got that one too. I get the 4 metre box because I'm slightly plus size and very tall, so I have more options of things to make that way, rather than just a shirt, skirt, or shift dress, but this month, I'm making my husband a short sleeve shirt and something for myself too from this fabric. That's what I did with the nautical print from 2 months ago, too. I decided I would do that any time I had fabric suitable for both of us.
Love your Shelby dress. I received the same fabric as you this month and yes it’s so pretty 💙🤍
Love your Shelby dress. I received the same fabric as you this month and yes it’s so pretty 💙🤍. I shall look forward to your next vlog.
I also got the Liberty. It is beautiful, I haven’t a clue what to make. Keep us posted about what you choose.
Beautiful Liberty fabric, great design & look forward to seeing what you decide to make.😊
That shall is Amazing! Perfect match for that fabric. I’ve been to Estonia. It was COLD (brrrr). Nice village with the oldest apothecary in the world! In your next video you showed the lovely dress you made with this fabric. Well done! Lovely dress. Super impressed that you’re keeping up with the sewing from these boxes…😊
How fun that you got the fabric you really wanted! Liberty fabric is awesome, you’ll love sewing with it. I received the same fabric and so did my English friend Judi! I think I’ll try and get the new FLEUR dress from Fabric Godmother out of it. We’ll see if I can play pattern Tetris and make that work1. Happy Sewing and hugs from Oregon.😊
Your Shelby is just gorgeous! ❤
What an amazing “Welcome Home!” ❤. Enjoy that beautiful fabric!
lovely vlog. i have just found your channel. I also have the liberty fabric from my box, and i love it. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to make with it.
You blue top is lovely ❤
I was also blessed with that liberty print in my box. It is so gorgeous! And that project planner - so pretty and useful! The swizzles are a light mint flavor. Very tasty! I enjoy your videos! Your dress from last month’s box is beautiful! I haven’t made any of my fabrics up yet because I am a bit scared to ruin them. I do have plans for several of them but need to toile them first. Have a great week!
Wow. What a beautiful box. I love the fabric. I’m glad you received the Liberty fabric. You look great in the True Bias dress. I have several other people talk about how slippery it is. I dread that. 🤤❤
