Yeah, pretty much. I believe in their Kickstarter campaign they compared their product to some of these.

That box has been on my radar for some time now and I am going to do a dedicated review video for it. There are A LOT of "promises" for the box so I want to really deep dive into the box. Expect a video on it in the near future.

It was nice to take all of my playmats out of their tubes and put them into my two sanctuaries. But I couldn't agree more about the cheapness of the material. Only time will tell how well they hold up. I hope you can get your hands on your own soon.

I am simply putting out a video to show people that this $60 deckbox will EASILY break on them, which may not be worth the money. Because not only did it break in my tests, it also failed to keep the cards inside it on multiple drop and shake tests. :) Things break, but when we are spending a premium price on a product I would expect them to last longer than a few drop tests from three feet up.

I personally didn’t receive a Kickstarter box. But it doesn’t surprise me there were quality differences between the two. Do you mind me asking what you noticed?

Thank you! In most cases you’re far more likely to accidentally drop your box than to shake it. But you don’t see other reviewers even the big name ones dropping boxes to test actual durability. I do love my Academics even my broken one. Design is A+ for sure.

Thank you. I’m currently using VaultX for my Digimon deck as it fits my over sleeves and a tiny bit of room for dice.

If they make an 80+ Bastion or even one from their sidekick or squire line, it’s an instant buy from me. My go to deck box right now for my Oversleeved decks has been VaultX but there is a good inch of extra space which I’m not a fan of.

I can’t speak for every color of the GameGenic sleeves as I only have a few. But even putting Grand Archive cards which have a very dark gray back, I haven’t seen the back shine through on my colors. However, given the lighting and color of sleeve (white or pink) it definitely might be an “issue” if that’s something you want to avoid.

I have a pretty large collection of waifu sleeves gathered from all sorts of outlets. Maybe I can look to do a waifu sleeve video and list the most common areas I've purchased them from. :D

Honestly so many places. eBay, my LGS, Facebook groups, and TCG player are the most common places I find new waifu sleeves. I’d recommend eBay if you’re really in the market for waifu sleeves.

I assumed it was a knock off. Most companies are basically trying to reinvent the wheel with new TCG products. I’ve looked at Dueling Guard, most for their anime themed accessories.

It’s possible it was a different box or maybe an updated version of this one. It’s hard to keep track of all the brands out there making essentially the same box with minor variations.

I think the best outer sleeve option for Dragon Shields is their outer sleeve. Because Dragon Shields are bigger than other sleeves, the other outer sleeve options just barely fit. So for some added protection of your custom Dragon Shield sleeves and cards I’d recommend their outers.

I’m happy to inform you that the Vault X does fit Dragonshield outer sleeves. I didn’t test if it fit a full 100 card deck but with a Dshield standard and outer it fit in the box. It’s a TIGHT fit but it definitely works.

Another WiXoss player! ❤️ Yes, if you’re single sleeving it will fit the 52 cards no problem. It’s once you start to double sleeve when you run into issue.

Yeah it is very much a 50ish card deck box, especially if you’re gonna attempt to double-sleeve. Depending on the sleeves you might be able to get 55 or so, but 60 is pushing it. I’d recommend the 60 Boulder from Ultimate Guard for your Union Arena deck.

I have no issues with the 100+ XL, I think it is a great deckbox for commander players or people who take two decks for smaller TCGs. However, my issue with the 50+ still remains. It only fits what it states using very specific sleeve combinations or single sleeves which is not idea to the average consumer.

That doesn't surprise me. I am sure 100 double-sleeved Katana's and GameGenics could fit in the Vault X. My goal for future videos is to have 100 single/100 double sleeved decks in all major sleeves for fair comparison/reviews going forward.

Yeah thinner cardboard could definitely be a way to get your cards in the box. I did actually try out 50 cards sleeved specifically with GameGenic inner and outer and they fit. But literally only 50 no room for more. Still not a preferred if you HAVE to use their sleeves as I know most people use DShields.

I personally do not own any Pokémon cards, but they follow the same standard TCG size. I would expect it to fit no problem. :)

Thanks. I think it provides some good insight into the quality of the magnets companies use for their boxes.

I can definitely seeing the card thickness lead to problems like this and it isn't something companies test for. But I would like to see this box in an XL size to just have a bit more wiggle room for 55ish cards. Or just make a 60 instead of 50 and call it good. Haha

@@ChaoticGoodz Ok so I got a couple of these from my lgs today to try with Vanguard. They are 50 cards double sleeved no room for tokens, I assume with more foils it'd be worse. With the recent change to vanguard making it a 55ish card game this is a no go for double sleeving.

@@nyra007 I am on a serious hunt for normal size deck boxes. Best so far IMO is UltimateGuard Boulders, but they don't fit oversleeves which is a bummer but NOT the end of the world.

I do feel that the Matte Primes have a slight frosted front diminishing color and foiling of the cards inside them. But with that being said, it is VERY subtle and something only noticeable upon close inspection.

It is my favorite deck box I own. I don't use it all that often because I only carry a single deck and don't need such a large box. But it sits on my shelf with my other trinkets. Yes, Die Hard Dice is a great company and their life counters are amazing. I do not play MTG, but looking to proxy some commander decks to play with friends online. So, hopefully soon!

I could see doing smaller decks in these sleeves or things like LRIG decks/Don!! cards/eggs. Personally I want to REALLY break these in and see how they hold up over time. Plus, I really want their heart design haha.

Thanks for the honest feedback. The sleeves have grown on me and I like their size. I do plan on picking up more from Prismatic Defender, but the initial feel of the sleeves is troublesome.

I appreciate the clarification but that’s false information. On their product page it states 110 Single sleeved, 100 double-sleeved, and 70 triple-sleeved cards fit in the small. At least for the version I purchased and printed. Unsure about the original version.

@@ChaoticGoodz ah yeah I see that now, I’ve had similar issues in the past with my decks, usually only run into this issue if I haven’t pushed the air out of the sleeves or have too many foils

Couldn't agree more. I am going to Etsy to try and find deck boxes now that fit oversleeves and aren't 100+ boxes.

The best deck box I can recommend is going to be the "Ultimate Guard Boulder 60+." I own two and when I am not using oversleeves it fits exactly my 52 card WiXoss decks. An alternative if you are using oversleeves is the Bastion 100+ fits two Weiss Schwarz decks perfectly. I am also going to be getting GameGenic sleeves and giving this deck box another chance, but being limited to GameGenic inner & outer sleeves just to fit 50 cards isn't exactly "good" in my opinion.

I don’t own GameGenic sleeves but to give a fair review I should’ve purchased a set. I did try with Katana’s and those still didn’t fit. Maybe I should circle back with GameGenic sleeves and try again.

@@ChaoticGoodz Worth a test. If the Bastion doesn't fit the GameGenic sleeves, THEN we have a problem lol
