Yellowing happens fastest with white but the bromine will come out of all plastic eventually. I try to keep mine out of sunlight and keep the humidity low. A hydrogen peroxide solution under UV light should remove it from the surface but I never want to take them apart and remove the stickers to do it. This is one of my favorites, he later becomes Great Shot and actually takes leadership of Ginrai's faction when Ginrai becomes Victory Leo.

My mother DESTROYED my Jetfire when I accidentally broke her vase... I paid for it with my lawnmowing money... *(She had an ABSOLUTLEY crazed look when she SMASHED IT!!!) -I never broke anything of hers again! **(I bought a pristine condition one as an adult with everything included.. -it doesn't see the light of day!)

I had this one and yes the armor for the arms and leg broke. The slide switchs for the hands are covered up by the armor and you almost always break one of the clips off.

i still have mine, thanks dad, g1 original, box and styrofoam, alwats put it away after playing, i dont have macaross version though

So just to clarify, do you need to have the Godmaster engine plugged into the grille of the truck to transform the main figure, or not?

I’ve never heard of omnibus’s before ! What continuity are they from then ? I know you said g1 but what show. Never mind looking it up now

Nice job. I see you experimenting with the editing style around transformation. Works okay here but I could see it being a little frustrating with more complex bots. Seems like the eye needs just a little longer to orient before cutting to the next shot.

Hasbro went half hearted with this. Silver stripes not going all the way on the cab. Visible screws on the sides of the trailer. No chrome. Could've been so much better. What a lazy release by them. An easy pass.

The is the only Transformer toy my parents got me and I still have it.

For the longest time, I had the front half of that toy. My older brother ripped it in half for some reason. It had the nose, legs, and head, but no back or hands. I have no idea where it is now.

Jetfire sits on my desk at work. And I have the ORIGINAL with the die cast parts and the plastic rocket pack/armor. :) He can't transform anymore, the plastic is too stiff and brittle.

what was the new jetfire you had? Also, why in the cartoon was he called Skyfire?

Man this figure sucks for the price. I am going to pass on him (although I did pick up MS Ginrai). The Masterpiece lone has been a huge disappointment the last ten years. It is absolutely insane we never got a Jazz (who cares if Porche wont give a license?!?) or a Mirage but somehow got five(?) different Optimus Primes! 🤦‍♂️

I still have my Gen 1 Jetfire (Bandai). It was my favorite Transformer, next to Soundwave and Devastator. Even then, I knew it was a rebranded/colored Macross VF-1S. Unfortunately, now it's yellowed; armless; missing tailwings; and all the accessories.🤷🏽‍♂️

Totally agree with legacy g1, ss86, and missing link optimus prime. Whar a great year for g1 optimus for the 40th. I say every time but come on takara give us missing link Soundwave and a Megatron sooner than later.

Almost picked this up. But after watching this video seems like Super Ginrai needs a version 2.0 or even a redo like MP44. Doesn't feel like a masterpiece.

I always put one finger on the landing gear so it would launch itself against the finger hitting the switch

My favorite robot, its a shame they have 579 different versions of the rest of the G1 line, but no hope for a re-release of G1 Jetfire.

Is MPG09 the same size as MP 60?

It's amazing that Ginrai was on a Masterpiece voting poll 10 years ago and ended up on third place with Armada Optimus coming in second and Star Saber taking the win.

I had this one except I could have sworn he had a red upper body and blue legs. (I was very young when I got it.)

Ginrai looks incredible, he's probably my favourite version of Prime in G1. it totally sucks that it I stopped buying official Has/tak mp figures as they are not even remotely worth the price now as the quality has dropped significantly as the price has increased even more. I'll wait for the inevitable KO of ginrai and pay a fraction of the price and they usually have added diecast or some extra bonus or something.

I really hope they make a Kanna Hashimoto and Transformers Crossover.
