OIL CHANGE on a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu LS
Easy oil change. Applies to any car with a spin on filter. Also some insight on P06DE fault code that’s been giving me problems.

shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/crc-gdi-ivd-intake-valve-turbo-cleaner-11-wt.-oz.-05319/11019388-P If you see white smoke coming out the tailpipe that means it’s working. Definitely better gas mileage, acceleration since I did this. But no DIY solution is better than taking it to shop if your not sure enough. Hey boss do you know where the iat sensor is located? I’m trying to search it up but I can’t find anything. If you can get back to me it’ll be much appreciated thank you
Just wanted to comeback and say thanks bro i was able to get my moms 2018 Chevy Malibu back running with your video.
Can I do oil change without the ramps? Just jack the car up?
I would not see why not. Just make sure you have some safeties. Chevy malibus sit low.
@@Kpk8 My friend was borrowing my ramps forcing me to use jacks and jack stands and, unfortunately, I can now see “why not.” :( Somehow I managed, but there is no good place to put your jack stands when your jack is on the jack points. A long-reach low-profile jack can reach a part of the subframe that goes across the front but the bottom isn’t flat and they put plastic over the front. It’s almost like they deliberately designed it to stop you from changing your oil with jacks and jack stands. Everything is covered with plates of plastic or thin, bendable, metal. I tried suspending it from suspension parts at the wheel and not only did I catch/bend some nearby plates but the jack stand was starting to fall over when I jacked from the other side. 2020 Malibu here (same generation).
Also, it could be the PVC valve plugged and vacuum line going to the intake, which has another orface that could be plugged, which is a horrible design. Very intensive in labor for an 18 dollar part to replace not including those vacuum lines. Hopefully, the more common this issue becomes, a recall will be administered. A bulletin has been sent to dealerships to help automotive techs diagnose this issue, but the repair could be pricey due to their design flaws.
Oh my lord this confused me more than anything
The “box” connected to the rubber intake tube fills up with oil and water because the pcv gets plugged up. Oil/water also gets into the vacuum lines going to the vacuum solenoid for the waste gate which should be checked and the bypass valve on the bottom of the turbo fills up with oil. If the pcv valve is plugged and doesn’t get cleaned/replaced the engine will start developing oil leaks from excessive crankcase pressure, burn oil. That “box” should be removed to be cleaned you don’t want that crap going into the engine. The throttle body should be removed to be cleaned I use a toothbrush to scrub with some cleaner, there is a bracket on the charge pipe with one 10mm bolt if you take it out you have more room to remove the throttle body and not only do you want it to be really clean you don’t want all that cleaner going through the engine. I’m not saying the pcv is plugged on ur car just giving u some information and they do plug up very often. The p1101 code can be caused by a bunch of things.
What is the name of the box ? It's a pita to get off ,I'm having trouble
@@xxflaxxdreadthe fan box
Do you know where the iat sensor is located on this car?
The "fan"😆 and the "cataliStic"😄 but anyway, don't use the whole can, you'll ruin your engine and cataliStic converter, and if you don't know what your doing, you'll HYDRO LOCK your engine, please be careful people there's way more detail than what you see in videos.
Hey I left a comment before after first watching ur video stating that you gave a lot of valuable info. I been dealing with that issue for a long time and changed everything but light never went away. I then went on to do all that u said and that was the only thing that worked. Thank u again..
All u did was clean the throttle and maf, it worked for how long did issue come back?
Ur video was very helpful, thanks
The word 'basically' 😶🌫️
Lol , he called the turbo the “fan”
