    I spent many hours of my youth cultivating with one like this except with rubber tires. I hated cultivating. If you lost concentration for a few seconds you took out 10 feet of corn or beans and Dad was not happy. Not much fun to drive as it went all of 5 mph wide open in third. But for some strange reason, I enjoyed seeing one again. Thanks for posting.

    Is it worth buying one of these old yard tractors

    • @thebeckcollection
      @thebeckcollection 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are definitely pros and cons. If you find one that has been well-maintained, they are easy to work on and usually pretty reliable, but they are 40-50 years old, so there will be things to work on. I’d say, if you’re looking for a tractor to do odd jobs once in a while around the house, an older Cub Cadet would be great, especially if you enjoy tinkering with old iron!

      @@thebeckcollection if you look at the factory specs for international McCormick now what a title says people have been known to retitle Vehicles because they're lost and put the wrong year in they only made the KB series from 1947 to 1949 we were in World War II in 1945 and we're not producing civilian trucks any truck produced in 1945 was a military truck

    • @thebeckcollection
      @thebeckcollection 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This one isn’t a KB series. It’s a K-7. The KBs were just like the K series built from ‘41 to ‘45, but the difference in the KBs is that they had more chrome. If you notice on the grill, this K-7 has a little steel emblem instead of the chrome, which was probably because of war shortages. Also, the hubcaps and the grill bars are painted silver instead of chrome. This is a ‘45 model on the title though. If I remember correctly, my great-grandpa bought this truck just shortly after WWII ended.

      We started it again later and it fired right up. When we shut it off, we turn the gas off and let it run itself out of gas, so the fuel pump just had to get its prime back. The old Farmalls are always reliable!

    Great to hear that old girl run. I used to have an old Adams road grader built on a F-12. It was a cool old machine - spring loaded mold board - The springs assisted when raising it and compressed when you lowered it. Full circle - a spring pin, with a rod extending to the operators platform, was used to 'plug' a hole in the circle when the desired angle was reached. The old girl even had (6V) electric start. Tandem rears with farm tread. After tinkering with the magneto, it started and ran pretty good. But I was young and had no funds to do the necessary restoration - and really no place to keep it out of the elements. I sold it to a very well know collector. About 20 years ago I swung thru that collectors little town and it was sitting outside - still unrestored. I wonder if he ever got around to restoring it? I hope you post more videos of you F12. It runs! That's a good start.
