@@fruecrue the wire is for the back-up anti-reverse. It will engage when the anti-reverse bearing failed. Make sure to insert the wire into the small hole of the anti-reverse pawl.

You can order missing parts from plat.co.jp . However, it could be that yours was an updated model. If the missing part does not affect performance then its alright. If it does, then you need to order the part.

Which bearing is stuck?

Most bearing can be replaced with cheap bearings from aliexpress and such. However, it its the arb, you have to order them from daiwa.

Not okay. WD40 is mostly for cleaning. Never use wd40 as lubrication

Grease - SKF LGGB, Oil - Sewing machine oil mixed with corossion-X. Bearing needs oiling periodically.

@@coolerfullofish greasing bearings (either inside or outside) of small machines including fishing reels is not recommended. The grease will make the bearings sluggish. However if it became necessary to regrease a small bearing, you only have to put a very small amount, like the size of three sesame seeds, and then before you put on the shield, place a few drops of solvent (usually alcohol or sewing machine oil. Not wd40) and give it a few spins. Then close the shield. You should be good.

@@solunaranglingconfidante417 Thanks for the intuitive reply. Ive never heard of adding alcohol to the bearing instead of oil. I would think that would dry up. It could help break down any residual grease inside the bearing and thus freeing it up a bit.

@@coolerfullofish correct. The alcohol will dry out. The purpose of the alcohol when servicing a bearing is as a solvent, not as a lubricant. The alcohol will dilute the grease just enough for the grease to be displaced from the balls. Maintenance of bearings is done by adding a few drops of oil now and then. For small bearings, a light oil with/without solvent is good enough. For bigger bearing, a slightly thicker oil might be needed. However for most fishing reels size 20000 and below, products such as corrosion-X, ardent butter, shimano or daiwa oil and such are good enough.

@@solunaranglingconfidante417 Okay yeah, I was hoping to find ways to service some of my sealed bearings without breaking the shield. I may just have to try soaking my penn international 50 bearings in ISO since they are sealed and also have a plastic backing. I may try CRC brake cleaner in the red can as well, but im not sure how safe it is with plastic.

@@coolerfullofish Im not sure but I think it should be ok. Just try soaking one of bearings and go from there.

Sometimes it happens when the live liner drag is too loose or the spool drag is too loose.

@@solunaranglingconfidante417 the basket on the shaft loosens and the brake noise ceases, how does the spindle rotate together with the spool?what is the solution should I not use it in position 1? can i protect it like this?

You can use position 1 but your live liner drag must be less than your spool drag. However, it is quite normal for position 1 to not function properly. I usually never use position 1.

@@uzunerfatih try soaking in warm water. And then push and twist a little at a time with a blunt flat head screw driver. Dont push to hard.

@@solunaranglingconfidante417 thanks.have one more question. I have another daiwa bg. I replaced the bushing with bearings in line roller. Line roller rolls nicely before I screw it into bail arm. Even if I do not screw it tightly, once I connect line roller to bail arm and screw, It does not roll anymore. What is the problem? How can I solve it? Thanks

@uzunerfatih you need a slightly thinner bearing to replace the bushing. Same ID and OD, but thinner

Some cheap multi head screw driver I bought on shopee/aliexpress. For most part its ok but for smaller screws especially size 000 and below, a good quality screw driver will do wonders.

Hi apologies for late reply. I never did change the bearings on mine but after servicing a few others, I did not find much changes with changing the bearings. This reel is good for jigs around 40-150g depending on your preference and style. For shore jigging, I thinks its adequate.

I have not the time and resource to continue making videos. For now I will put this channel on hold for a few months/years. I was thinking on making my videos private on subscription basis but that defeats the main purpose of this channel which was to assist my fellow anglers. SKF LGGB 2.0 synthetic grease. Not cheap and you have to buy it in 400g cartridge but compared to other reel grease, its pretty dorn cheap and it smells like coconut and vanilla. Dont eat it. However this grease soft and its only suitable for reel size 6000 and below..

Hi. For your information, Spheros SW C5000XG and Spheros SWA 5000XG are different reel. Both SW C5000XG and SWA5000XG are not one and the same. For SW C5000XG it has auto bail trip and the SWA5000XG has manual bail trip. Hope this explanation helps.

There are plus and minus of this greasing style. Most of the reels will be abused until who knows when my customers will send them back for servicing, so this much grease will be needed. If the reels are used by recreational anglers who fish maybe once or twice a month and the do good maintenance, then I will use half the grease in this video. However, based on my experience servicing thousands of reels by now, good maintenance rarely happens😂. These much grease, unfortunately, are necessary. One more thing, for countries with 4 season climate, lesser and much thinner grease will serve them reels better.
