Descent Journeys in the Dark - Hero Tray 3D Print Timelapse
Please post a video on how you use a heat gun on removing strings...Great video thanks
I think I'll demo it in the next video. Super easy but not many people know about doing it. Thanks for the suggestion!
@DoveDesigns3D I have did it... But it turns my prints black from heat (sut) curious how you do it
To go along with your Dice tower, any thoughts towards adding a dice "box" to your product line? I printed up a planter of Groot for my Mother and used a Filament that had a 30% wood fiber mixed with it that really turned out nice. Designing and printing your own custom box to hold your dice out of that filament would be a cool addition to your tower for table top gaming. Look at me full of suggestions today.
Good video. Would love to see the dice tower and other products you sell
Thank you! I've got them up in my shop. DoveDesigns3D on Etsy
Keep up the good work man, I love watching your channel. Just starting to get into 3d printing myself.
Thank you for the kind words and for watching! 3D printing is so much fun!
Good vid. Love the updates, totally understand that a multi video per week is hectic. Still waiting for my p1p to ship :(. Meantime my k1 max is actually doing very well. Nozzle does clog on occasion but only on first layers if it is gonna happen and I have found if I run an extrude before a print it clogs 1 in 150 prints, which is acceptable. Keep up the great content. Suggestion perhaps, planned maintenance of your printers in terms of timings and what you tink that will be. Ie, nozzle cleaning, greasing, when you think you will have to replace nozzles or hot ends, etc. just a thought
I really enjoyed my K1 Max but the issues I was having on my unit within a month just made me reconsider. Maybe it was just that particular unit. Also those are great ideas. I do need to do some maintenance (more for preventative right now) but I'm sure getting that out in video form would be great for others. Also nozzle swapping was interesting haha.
I did some thinking on this and it would be great to have a loose maintenance schedule like a new car comes with. Every month grease the xy and z axis and inspect the belts, every 3 take the silicone sock off and clean the gunk out, etc....... just kind of a suggection checklist... You probably got that from my first message.
Bad timing buying that Panda Touch! Don't update your firmware, hahaha.
Yeah...bad timing for sure. Oh well
I Had a chance to see it hands-on, but Im going to wait for a while before I purchase this. I made a video at CES
Waiting a while is usually a good idea. I'm no longer a fan of being an early adopter of tech
I love my croygrip plates! I have the glacier on each of my printers. Great adhesion and they release better than a smooth PEI plate, and are AMAZING for PETG. I DO have the bambu supertack plates too, but those are almost too sticky for some of the things I print.
They do work very well! But oof the chemical smell I mentioned is almost nauseating
Just FYI Bambu is killing 3rd party functionality (Orca slicer, Pandatouch) so hold off on firmware updates until this is (hopefully) sorted out
I saw that! Hopefully they do sort it out. Not a good look for them
I had the same issues with K1 Max and recently switched to P1S. Unfortunately I had my K1 Max for over a year. I had initially ordered K2 Plus but got frustrated with the logistics of shipping so I cancelled the order and went right to Micro Center and bought the P1S
Yeah I heard people who preordered months before the release were still waiting for theirs while others were getting theirs weeks after placing an order. Not great. But now microcenter is getting them in stock. Was tempting but I’m happy with what I have now
@ I will not switch from Bambu, love this machine. Can’t wait until the bigger machine releases
Nice work!
hello where can i find your store to check it out thank you.
dovedesign.store
@@DoveDesigns3D found it great thank you
Don't know if you do or not, with that stage project, you should print 2-3 extra of all the small clamp pieces for the customer in case one or two break. They'd be VERY appreciative of the extra couple of pieces.
As I was finishing packaging I had that thought as well and included some extras of the smaller pieces!
What are you printing though? I can never come up with good items to try and sell :(
This was an on demand order. The customer reached out with a project and file they wanted printed so at that point as long as I could do it and my pricing was competitive I pretty much already had the sale.
I have had an Etsy store for a little over 3 years. Although this was my best year so far by hitting 60k, my November and December and so far January have been slower than last year. The reason I had a better year was that I added new products that became bestsellers and my monthly sales increased overall. This is shaping up to be perhaps my slowest January, which is not promising for the rest of the year. Time to add more products. We design and make our own functional products, so I just need to keep adding products to pick up more sales. Slow times are good for updating pictures and adding new listings.
Nice work on your sales and shop! One day I hope to reach those heights. And hopefully sales start picking up after this month. Agreed, need to start finding more products to list
@ I’ll message directly with some advice.
Those panda touch screens can handle multiple prints each, so you shouldn't need to have one for each P1S unless you really want to :)
You know I didn't find that out until after I added the second one and saw the popup in the interface of both printers. Oh well, I do like having the touch screen on both anyhow.
It supports only maximum 10 printers, and also only compatible with current known firmware but not guarantee for next upgrade. According to their waranty T's&C's.
You pack a lot into these vlogs. I for one really appreciate your journey. Still waiting for my bambu P1s to arrive. Seeing the quality you are getting is pretty amazing. If possible (no trade secrets of course), would be cool to see how you slice and setup your profile for a print with support. brim, etc. Just a though... being selfish here! ;)
Keep up the hard work. Enjoying the content
Glad you enjoy it!
I have a lot of printers in my small farm and recently purchased 2 Bambu's just to see if they lived up to the hype. I have to say I was blown away by the user experience and print quality. Needless to say I'll be ordering more in the near future.
Totally live up to the hype and I'm relying on them for my business now!
LOL - more and more of these 'buyer regret' videos are beginning to surface. It's like all the other companies are cursed or something. Not ashamed to admit that I am a Bambu fanboy. As a custodian, for a local elementary school, I recycle pop cans for purchasing material to make toys for the kids. 2000+ hours logged is proof enough that Bambu Lab is the only choice. Why Bambu? App, slicer, presets, inexpensive replacement parts, customer service, track-record, LONGEVITY. It's kind of a 'no-brainer'. But... you do you. Thanks for being honest and sharing your feelings and experience.
All of that is valid! I'll be keeping an open mind and checking out what other manufacturer's put out there, but for now Bambu's software, build quality and overall reliability have made me a loyal customer.
I can say that there are some issues. But there are way more machines that just work versus ones that have issues. We only hear the bad which is normal. I think if you try the k2 plus you’d love it. I have k1 maxs and k2 plus machines. Never had had any issues. And everyone I know who has them hasn’t had issues. But we are experienced users. Not denying there are issues. Just saying I would t write them off over one machine unless you just live the Bambu. I live Creality because they are cheaper and open source.
Totally not fully writing them off. I'm keeping an open mind and will check out what they have to offer. The K2 Plus is still very enticing, but for now I'm happy with the machines I've got. I reallllly wish I didn't have the issues I did with the K1 Max, but being at the end of my exchange/return period I had to do what was best for my situation.
@@DoveDesigns3D oh I totally get it. I love my k2. Hands down the best printer I’ve ever had yet. And Ive had a lot.
garbage dont fall for this company.
I'll be keeping an eye on what they put out this year. But I am excited to see what Bambu Lab finally comes out with in 2025!
nice lava lamp
Thanks!
I'm with you. I'm planning on selling my K1 Max (working 100% perfectly mind you) to fund whatever the next Bambulabs XL type machine is. I was thinking about getting the K2 Plus but honestly, I'd rather spend an extra $1,000 on a Bambu that works out of the box and doesn't require rooting it and messing with Klipper firmware. Plus, a Bambu will likely have industry leading features that nobody else has, and those features will work. Like, all the time. Not sometimes like the Creality machines.
I am excited to see what Bambu comes out with this year. That recent leak of the HD2 looks promising for a bigger build volume printer
Creality does make some nice printers for "hobby" folks, but I do not see them in printer farms. Personally I have tried over a dozen different brand names and my needs are different for production. I've ended up with various sizes and names to cover the production needs.
True you don't see a lot of their machines in bigger farms, it's mostly Bambu. The reliability and consistency is a big deal!
Great video! This is why I chose not to go with the new Qidi, despite the many positive video reviews before anyone could actually try it out. Instead, I opted for the P1S, and I couldn't be happier. I've even bought a few more, and they print flawlessly without any tweaking needed.
Yeah I kept seeing so many conflicting things about Qidi when I was doing research. It's tough out there to get an unbiased opinion in the world of video reviews. Hate or love it, Reddit has been a great source of actual user experience
Good choice.
I think so too!
I am excited about this!!!!
Same!
@@DoveDesigns3D I just hope it has the same level of "set it and forget it" that my A1 has lol
Not to be that guy but maybe it's time to steer clear of Creality. I've heard so many people have issues with anything Creality.
I’m happy with my Bambu printers for now. I’ll still keep my options open in the future though
Yup Bambu all the way, I also have 2 and love them
They are great and reliable printers
Why do people get so hung up on pricing? Just look at the market or price about 4x your material cost. People think they have to justify their pricing with complex calculations.
I think it makes sense when you have a large volume of orders and you're juggling material costs for different types of filaments. Your purchasing power will probably play role in what you can get your costs down to. Electricity is cheaper for me than say in California, and wear and tear on the printer (which these print farms eventually have to repair and replace) can factor into it. For someone starting out with a small operation, it doesn't make sense to get into anything complex. Dependant more on your circumstances I suppose
As an owner of a long running large print farm, you absolutely need to worry about price. Your printers only have a limited life, either your printer wears out or the technology leaps forward and to stay ahead of the curve then you need to update and unless you have been making a realistic profit margin (MUCH more than 4x material cost) then you are effectively spending thousands to make hundreds... at that point you are still in a hobby mentality and you are just not going to succeed long term, at least not beyond just selling for pocket money
Sorry to hear about your K1 Max woes. I have had a few nozzle clogs with mine as well, usually on the first few layers and pretty much only on PETG. My Bambu P1s is still on back order and I am working with my supplier on the K1. My dream would be to swap it out with another P1s, but pretty sure they don't work that way sadly. I appreciate you taking us along. The good and the bad is awesome to hear (hopefully more good than bad obviously)
Yeah I really did like the K1 Max and will miss the build size, but if I'm having as many problems as I was and I still have the option to exchange it, I couldn't wait and hope it would get better. Hoping Creality's newer stuff will be better. Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on the video. Your report on 3D printers is very important. I see that many sellers are opting for Bambulab machines. It seems to me that they are more reliable for printing demands. Regarding 3D models, you are right to check the use and commercial licenses.
Reliability, especially running a business, is key. I can tinker and fix things no problem but I have many other things to do. And on a $700 machine I shouldn't have to do all that. Also, yes checking those licenses is super important. I'll touch on that subject again in my next video.
Thank you for answering the question. And I am in IT as well specifically VoIP along with reading Wool currently. I appreciate your candor and sharing your journey.
Wool is such a good book and is the one that got me back into reading novels. Get ready for Shift once you're done with Wool. It's even better!
I'm also looking long and hard at this one.
I think it'll be a serious contender!
💯🤛👍💪
Not a A1 killer, for the price point, I rather get another A1 combo
It's good to have options though!
I hope it is...I really want the Bambu 😂
It is a nice machine!
And creality software is open source wich is much better
I do value an open system!
The Creality Hi looks nice. Post K2 Plus, Creality has really risen to the challenge and is crushing it. I print functional parts so multi-color isn't as appealing to me even though it's a very popular segment of the market, but I'd like to use filament feeders to print different materials. The FlashForge AD5X in particular appeals to me. It's similar to the feeder on the Bambu A1 Mini but the four spools mount to the right of the open frame coreXY printer, and the FlashForge IFS can feed 95A durometer TPU. None of the other filament feeders can do that and that's huge for me. Unfortunately, the AD5X has been delayed for a month or two as they get it to poop TPU without clogging. I hope with all of the filament feeders flooding the market, slicers will do a better job with multi-filament printing. For most prints, we shouldn't need the material waste associated with a poop chute or purge tower. The slicer should figure out how to use the nozzle purge to print infill. Hopefully we get that in 2025.
That would be nice! And I'll have to check out the AD5X
It's a total rip-off of the bambu a1 printer . Lol
I mean.... 👀
How do you figure your pricing with filament usage and print hours?
Very good question and something I plan to address in a future video. I use online price calculators to include filament cost, electricity, my time and a markup to create a base price and then price it compared to competing products on shops like Etsy. I’m always tweaking my prices though to see what works and doesn’t
Held off buying Bambu A1 with AMS during the holidays. Problem printing with color is how much printer poop is wasted when changing color mid print.
Soooo much poop! Luckily I haven’t had too many multicolor prints but the few I have done there’s been a lot of waste. Hopefully a better solution comes in the future. The P1S is still an excellent machine though
That's not a problem, that's physics and how it works. Not to mention that 90% of the print it is people are too dumb to understand filament changes and how to optimize the layer for it. In short, there is no problem with the printer/AMS; it works as intended.
If it’s not enclosed, I don’t want it. I’m not interested in printing toys. I’m interested in printing structurally rigid parts, that perform a job. These printers are not good enough. They need to make something better for hobbyist. Until then, I’m done printing for now. I don’t want to print PLA. I want to print PEEK. Know of any printers available for this?
Oof for PEEK I don't think there's anything reasonably priced for that type of material. I think anything sub $1000 is going to be geared toward hobbyist and prosumer.
@ yeah man. No doubt. I tried to turn a QIDI printer into a high temp machine. It worked alright…. But just couldn’t produce very high quality parts. Very disappointing. I really hope some big leaps are made in the 3D printing world! I want to manufacture good parts, but I’m not a rich man. Can’t afford the industrial printers yet /: good video though!!!
I think what makes it competitive is the AMS that can be used for it, it's more traditional. If Bambu wants to compete all they'd have to do is make a universal AMS for all the models
True! That would be nice. One AMS system for all printers so there's no variations would be great.
It's still Creality so no - no chance beating Bambu
We'll see how things go! Excited to see what Bambu releases this year too!
Hey Kinkis. I am about to buy a printer. It'd be incredibly helpful if you could tell me why you made this comment (pretty please).
@@McDowallManor Creality is making cheaper printers, BUT... it very often comes with problems. It can be small problems, but also problems which will affect print quality etc. In today's market, the leader is for sure Bambulab. Price is ok, quality is very high. Everything is automatic. Then ofcourse Prusa, but Prusa comes with higher price, tho the quality is also perfect. But we have to be fair and say, that Creality is nowadays much better then like 5 years ago. But it still have the problems.
With Bambulab seeming determined to piss off their core fans and brand advocates with the announced firmware lockdown, Creality may have a genuine chance if they don't keep this printer locked down like Bambu.
@@TROPtastic I saw that. People are really pissed off about it.
Great stuff, keep pounding 😎
Thanks! I will!
Is not creality, is creacopy😅
Haha! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
@@DoveDesigns3D 🤣🤣It's fair game since Bambu made bedslingers when we weren't expecting them in this sector.
