I hope i can answer some of your questions 1. lestat is very petty and he loves to teach people lessons. he thought he was doing his big one with the trial, but also wanted to apologize for pushing louis to the point of needing to 'off' him to get out of their marriage. 2. he never wanted louis to die, just wanted to get back at him, but also affirm that he still loves him despite it all. at first, he really did not care about claudia and always saw her as a mistake. the coven giving him the chance to be free of that mistake through the trial was the perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. it was only in watching her slow painfull demise that lestat realized he deeply f'ed up and lost a piece of who he was. 3. lestat is a performer, he LOVES a stage and LOVES an audience (we see that in armand's flash back to his first performance; lestat playing the piano at the saloon in s1, lestat founding the theater in the first place, and lastat opening their home to all of those guests in the finale of s1), he loves to be percieved (the ceneter of attention) and thats why he's now a world famous rockstar in s3 4. honestly no idea how sam got out, but its probably his contacts with the talamasca 5. armand is far from genius and the vampires aren't constantly reading people's minds. humans have surpirsed vamipres before (louis and all of the white buisness men constantly pulling the rug from under him). at that point armand was suspicious of daniel, but the interview had come to an end and armand thought he was in the clear and his manipulation of the situation was sucessful. hubris is the vampire's biggest folly 6. claudia is inconsistant becuase she is just a memory and their memories are inconsitant. its stated by lestat that the biggest danger to vampires is loneliness. as she entered adulthood, it became clear to claudia that she would be forever alone as louis could never truly be her companion while his heart was constantly pulled to the men in their lives. this is the reason the old vamprie lady they met threw herself to the fire because she could no longer bare being alone. this was formative for claudia as she realized that louis was dead weight and not dependable. she needed to find her own support system, the vampire cannot be solitary. just like lestat, claudia is desperate. people act stupid and make bad choices when they are desperate. remember claudia didn't really want to come back, but madeleine convinced her to return to paris to say their goodbye to louis. it just sucks that armand is the worst (i love armand, but we have to say he's the worst for trying to off all three of them)

People be like "you´re clearly homophobic, especially towards queer women because you have no problem with queer Benedict" Erm no. The thing is there´s a DIFFERENCE between Benedict and Francesca. Benedict now is bi and let us assume Francesca is also bi (although there are clues that she MIGHT be completely gay), Benedict can STILL end up with FEMALE Sophie. But Francesca cannot anymore end up with MALE Michael bc of the genderbending. If Francesca would´ve turned out to be bi but still ended up with MALE Michael, then it would´ve been completely fine. Also sth that BOTH Francesca AND Benedict lack is development. Neither of them had any development, exploration, depth and romance regarding their queerness, it was just thrown in

A lil trivia🙂 Anne Rice played a joke on people when she was alive and named Justin Bieber as the perfect candidate to play Lestat on television which is why Lestat says his name here. When Lestat finally introduces himself, those are the exact words in the first page of the book The Vampire Lestat. Us fans have been waiting years for him to say that text. The song is about Louis and Lestat having a situationship where Louis is giving chase because he’s not ready to commit yet after the s2 ep 8 reconciliation. I wonder if Julia Quinn really had a say in this because depending on if she has ANY creative control over the series, it might have just been the case of she got told this by the new showrunner and her opinions were ignored. And publicly she has to support the show because she did sell the TV rights of her books.

I haven't finished the video, but I gotta say if we can avoid the "fine I'll keep seducing you until I impregnate you and then you'll HAVE to marry me" I will be happy. Also I didn't see people complain that S2 changed a bunch of things, so when people care about "book accuracy" I wonder what their thoughts are on S2...

It is because of the books that made the show and there are a lot of different details that were missed from the book and changed. I love all the chronicles of the vampires and at first I didn’t love the movie because of all the changes they made but at the end it was amazing.

so many bad words for beautiful armand, when armand saved louis' life TWICE--giving him his own life sustaining blood. where was lestat when louis tried to burn himself alive in the sun? where was lestat when louis was burned in the crypt? armand has been louis' savior. savior i tell you.

Read the books! I read them in the 90s when I was a teenager. I have really great memories of me, my mom, and two of my sisters reading each one and having these discussions. I liked them and plan to reread as well, 30 years later. I appreciate so much how they've modernized the books. I think this series is top tier and I'm so glad they went in this direction. I will never be able to read the books or think of the characters without seeing this cast in my head. It's amazing. Great analysis!!

The best part is watching Daniel Molloy toy with Armand by criticizing Rashad. Molloy challenges Armand because he is not afraid of death; he has terminal cancer.

So true, this show is as close to perfect as a television series can get. The casting, the acting, the characterization, the chemistry between the cast, the plot/storyline, the dialogue, the scenery, the direction, the cinematography, the music. Everything is so freaking good and the had BETTER be nominated at next year's Emmys. This show needs to go viral

You've got to remember that the show is based off of the entire Vampire chronicles - 13 books. So although it's true to the essence of all the books, it won't be true to each individual book because so many of the stories overlap in time and fill in missing gaps. Focus on the first 3 books - "Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat & The Queen of the Damned", then the book "The Vampire Armand". Side note: I know most people are talking about how they wanted to see Louis beat down Armand (because that b^tch deserved it)- but Louis with his memories intact would've learned not to fight and older, more powerful vampire - especially one that can be out in the sun. Also, Armand was a sub who like to top from the bottom, all Louis needed to do was establish his dominance to win, not fight. Also something to think about - Armand said he preserved Louis happiness. Daniel made Louis happy. Maybe his turning Daniel wasn't fully out of spite. Perhaps it was as apology gift to Louis. Perhaps it's because Armand finally found someone who could best him & hold his own against him. And by being his maker - he would always have someone he couldn't read and would therefore be a match for his own mind. Or perhaps Daniel wanted the gift. We'll see in season three perhaps.

What happened to Rahed?And was he a vampire too? I wondering why he gave Daniel the newspaper?

I was very invested in Louis' friendship with Daniel, I feel that Louis can be himself with Daniel and vice versa... I hope the next season continues to show interactions between the two of them ❤
