    Thank you a very useful video. I have just managed to change mine following your instructions. Trying to get the unit out was the worst part.

    What a royal PITA, I would never buy another i10, timing chains, clutch problems (the foot pedal box problem especially) and the fact that Hyundai have really gone downhill since the MK1 i10. All this work and time just to change some poxy bulbs, on my other car you just twist a lid off and replace, it takes a minute or two tops.

    Ive got a sidelight bulb out but will leave it until the Mot is due in 10 months on mine as i dont trust Halfords to be taking pipes out of the way and putting them back correctly lol , such a bad design , I used to own a Mitsubishi Colt and that was way easier even i could do it as what the Japanese did in their genius was cut an access panel on each side into the front wheel arch so all i had to do was unclip that and pull out old bulb replace and pop it back , where as this design by Hyundai is very bad , its like they were thinking ? How can we get a lot of labour charges from the customer lol the car itself is reliable and for a 1.2 it shifts 110mph on a top speed run but handling is well dodgy lol

    Just had bulb replaced at Halfords, bloke struggled for a while then said to me he couldn't get the light unit out. I had to show him what to do with your video and lo and behold it came out. Thank you sir, maybe you can come down to Halfords in Peterborough and show them how to repair cars. Next time I'll watch your video and bl00dy do it myself!

    I put new discs and pads on my i10 but could not get the brake piston to retract enough for all the chunks to slide back in place. I actually ended up putting back the old pads on the calipers. What was I doing wrong???

    • @ArdGeal
      @ArdGeal 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Caliper is probably knackered- I have this Nielsen tool and the small 3/8" drive "Cube" that has multiple pin combinations/sizes/shapes to use depending on manufacturer and I cannot get the OSR one to go back, I think mine is knackered as the wear on the disc inner surface is horrendous towards the centre and barely worn on the outer (but all pitted and rusted due to no contact)- I think the piston is jammed at an angle somehow hence the uneven wear.... new calipers in the post....

    From my experience the pedal box can crack an bend due to heavy clutch causing the pedal box to bend giving a very low pedal an hard to engage gears

    Thanks for the video, ive picked up the parts and will do the install soon. has anyone had a problem with pushing the piston back in too far? That parts guy warned me about this. Ive done many front brakes but not rear with a piston that turns clockwise.

    you can't fasten just one side. Align the 4 screws and fasten then in X, alternating so that they all so in at the same time.

    Thanks - this works! One tip to add - I used a plastic cycle tyre lever to ease the headline from the body work. Needed to do this because road grime and crud were acting like an adhesive between the headlight rubber ‘gasket’ and the body work.

    TBH, you are better off taking the mirror out so you can undo/move the clips with a flat head screw driver. Forcing it the above video way you may break your clips and then you will need a new cover. Taking the mirror out only takes seconds. Also if you have not got the little tool a credit/plastic card is fine to get underneath.

    Just wanted to replace the sidelight bulb on the offside, so I diligently consulted the Owners Manual. This only mentions the top two bolts, so after much gnashing of teeth/head scratching and cursing, I resorted to good old TH-cam. Thank you so much for posting your tutorial, as I couldn’t have done this job without it. Cheers, Paul
