Lego Vikings
As I was doing inventory in the ongoing search for my Lego trains, I came across my favorite Lego sets of all time - Lego Vikings. These are sets I bought duplicates of and was using for MOCs of a double-headed dragon, a bigger longboat, etc. When I opened the boxes, I noticed I had never put the sets back in their own proper boxes, so I thought I would take the time and put everything back for longterm storage. During that process, I realized, I had mixed up the sets worse than I had originally suspected, so I had to keep looking for more boxes. In the end, I found a heavy box that had my missing trains with the My Own Trains and the Engine with the passenger car, logging car and caboose, so that search is over and I can get back to my Lego city.
I did enjoy putting together these Viking sets though. There were three sets that I do have that didn't get mixed up, Fenris Wolf 7015, Heavy Artillery Wagon 7020 and the Armored Ofnir Dragon 7021. What I put together was the Fortress 7019, the Viking Ship 7018, Viking Boat 7016 and the Viking Catapult 7017. I always wondered why a Danish company like Lego would have only released a Viking set - their ancestors and mine - for such a short time. However, after building the sets with the many projectiles, I wonder if some kid lost an eye and sued them - just a guess from any attorney who understands that type of liability. Whatever the reason, it was sad to see them go because they had a lot of playability and I loved the dragons - the Nidhogg, the Midgard Serpent, the Ofnir, the Wyvern, and the Fafnir, which are all part of Norse (or all Scandinavian) mythology.
Hope you enjoyed this video.

Lego Inventory & Storage
มุมมอง 3202 ปีที่แล้ว
In order to search for my missing train engine and cars, I decided to finally start my inventory. I am starting with my older sets, as the trains are older - especially the engine, which runs on 9V track. While doing the inventory, I realized I didn't do a very good job of storing my Lego sets. I stacked boxes on top of each other that were not the same size and ended up crushing some of the bo...
Vanishing Trains - A Lego Mystery
มุมมอง 2262 ปีที่แล้ว
As I started to put my 9V Lego track together, I realized that many of my trains were missing. I have the boxes, but I can't find the lego parts. Considering most of my trains are over 20 years old, they could be anywhere. I looked in the obvious places for more boxes, but couldn't find them. I also realized I am going to need a lot more track. Join me in the hunt. this should be interesting.
Lego Trains
มุมมอง 5742 ปีที่แล้ว
I thought I should get out my Lego trains to see what kind of track I have to work with in my city. I have fewer sets than I thought - two old 9V sets, a few random engines and some My Own Train engines and railcars. Stay tuned as I dig into these sets deeper.
Lego City Layout Problem - small space, big MOCs
มุมมอง 5622 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is a quick video to show my layout problem. I really have very little space, and my MOC of the Boston Building and Newhouse Building are huge. Not only are they big, but because they are three baseplates deep, they throw off a normal street design. I could try to turn them, but the other MOCs I designed to connect with them will not fit if they are rotated. The other issue I have is that M...

Lego Assembly Square - 10th Anniversary

Thanks to the 10th Anniversary edition of Assembly Square, I was finally able to get this set. This is set 10255. I really enjoyed putting this together. I loved how they did the windows on the bakery using clear garage door panels. I also like how they did the 45 degree doors on the coffee shop using 2x2 turnstile pieces. The model train set, the outdoor BBQ, frankly all of it was quite awesom...
Lego Looney Tunes Minifigs and More

I should have posted this video two months ago, but summer gets in the way. Anyway, here is the combination of my May the Fourth and birthday haul of Star Wars sets, a few things about my city and the Looney Tunes Minifigures series. I grew up with Looney Tunes, and they will always be my favorite - I prefer the sarcastic toons to the sticky sweet ones. My only complaint about this set is that ...
Child of Liberty - Building a Base
มุมมอง 3163 ปีที่แล้ว
For those of you who have seen some of the last videos, you will have seen the Child of Liberty. An idea my daughter had for my Lego City. Use the Child, Set 75318, from Star Wars The Mandalorian, as my Statue of Liberty because he is the same color green and tan (although the tan is in the base). Because the Child is dark tan on the bottom, I didn't want to build a tan base as I thought it wou...
Lego City - I Felt It
มุมมอง 7423 ปีที่แล้ว
The layout is nearly complete. One simple step left. As many of you know, baseplates have an annoying habit of sticking to the surface they are on. My theory is that the bottom of the studs creates a suction cup effect. Whatever causes it, the bigger the build you have on the baseplate, the harder it can be to move. An easy way to prevent that is to lay felt down on your table. The nice thing a...

Lego Storage - How Not to store bulk Lego
มุมมอง 4063 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is a quick video I thought I would share. I guess you could say this is Lego Storage video 3. This video is about storing bulk Lego, or in other words, storing your parts and pieces, not your sets. For convenience, I put all of my white bricks in one giant bag. However, if you store all your parts in one bag and everything is the same color, it makes it really hard to find a specific part....

Here is a long video for a short little Star Wars character - the Child, who I stretched to make a child of Liberty, or Statue of Liberty for my Lego City. He still needs a base and will ultimately need a light saber to hold, but I hope you found this build interesting. More to come.
Dusting Lego - a New Technique

Brickettes Sumsion, That's a really cool idea you had Quincy as to having the LEGO Child built similarly to the Statue Of Liberty! Perhaps if you had at least 4 of those sets that it would be relatively similar to the Liberty Statue, and include the torch as well .

TLDR: I built something inspired by this and am considering taking it to SLC Brickslopes. I'm not sure if you still get notifications for this, but I saw this video a while ago and decided to build my own MOC. Not the same, but clearly inspired by this. I later decided to build a "grounds" for it. Assuming I can finish it by then, I am considering taking it to Brickslopes in August. I thought it proper to ask of thats cool since you are in the area too and perhaps were planning on bringing yours. If I can finish it up, is it cool if I bring mine to display?

Hoarding is bad but if it's trains it's a different story. Don't forget regular people call us train nuts. We are nuts about trains. Everybody in the hobby has more stuff on shelves and in boxes than the average hobby shop used to have in the entire store. Just like ask guys into vintage motorcycles I have more vintage motorcycles that are motorcycle shop in in the old days. It's good to be surrounded by the things you love and your dog.

The way I see it, the old one wouldn’t be as valuable if it was opened. However, since you have it sealed in the original shipping box, I’d think that it wouldn’t lose too much of it’s value in the same market with the new one. I’ve built them both and they’re both pretty awesome models, whichever one you choose :)

How can I do a 45 degree angle wall? I’m building a moc bar of my friends basement as a gift, and this is my first time building. I’m in over my head.

    • @brickettessumsion4126
      @brickettessumsion4126 2 ปีที่แล้ว

There are many ways to do a 45 degree angle wall. A lot will depend on how long your wall is and what it will connect to. If you watch my video on Assembly Square, or the Corner Garage, I focus on two of the methods they use. The fake Lego modular building used a different technique. I would say the easiest way is to use 1x2 rounded plates to make your connection on each end of the wall, which will have to float on tiles. Hopefully that makes sense.

You seem to be eager to build a single track around your city, and it doesn't look like you have the space for more (= two parallel tracks). However, it sounds as if you want to have many trains. Similarly, I only have a single circle for my train, as more tracks just don't fit, and currently four trains but only one motor. However, I noticed that for a single track you also actually only need a single train. Of my four trains, two I never actually put on the track so far. 90% of the time I use my very first LEGO train, the 4558/4547 Metroliner, and the other 10% of the time, Rebrickable MOC-90233. So my tip would be, if you have a single train that you have fond childhood memories of, then unless you need to fill a display cabinet, you may want to consider just using that gem and not going on a shopping spree for more models or motors. Instead, use your money wisely to complete the minimal desired track layout (= buy more straights) and a train station.

I have both types of train track. Love the 9 volt way better...for a more permanent room layout. I’m going to do the Hobby Lobby copper tape onto all my new track eventually. So worth the extra work and effort! I do love the new road plates, so my layout has skinnier roads, which leaves more room for train track.
