indeed. its one of my more favorites worn by the engine, i also like the 1983 whistle. there is just something about those whistles that are just so perfect for the engine.

@tricky1546 this is because others just take random clips and audios and slap them together instead of taking the time to find two clips of 611 going the same speed and putting the audio on the whistle on the clips we have of 611 today. This project took me about a couple of weeks to make in finding all the right clips and doing my best to make sure it looked good, some clips I weren’t happy with but left in there.

It’s not, the people at the museum I talked to confirmed it’s not the same whistle that was on 611 sense 2016, it’s a new whistle from her sister engine #609, don’t believe just ask the crew of the 611 that are working on her this summer.

We know, it has already been addressed in the comments several times.

They haven’t confirmed or announced yet of where 611 is going after strasburg, but I will say the two places we can guess is either Roanoke or Spencer NC.

@@brianfalzon6739 she will get routine maintenance at the VMT then, during the fall, she will go and run excursion, supposedly and rumored at the Virginia scenic railway, but nothing has been announced yet so all we know is that she will run excursions during the fall season, sense that’s when they said they are planning excursions with 611

@@VirginianRailwayProductions I was told by the person who procured the whistle that's currently on the 611, as of the typing of this, that it is NOT off of the 609. That's just a falsehood generated by the Railfan Grapevine. Whether it was intentional or accidental, I don't much care.

@@justahillbilly7777 then where is it from if we know at all, for I can’t remember where, it might have Been from the Pocahontas vol’s but I remember hearing that specific whistle on one of the j’s or at least one that sounded really close to the one on the 611 as of this year. It’s either just a coincidence or it’s the same whistle, I’m not sure at this moment. But I will say her whistle right now is pretty damn close to Robert claytor’s whistle now belonging to his son Preston, which I find amusing, and i know the whistle on 611 now isn’t claytor’s whistle either.

I was going to say because the 611’s new whistle sounds similar to the one she wore in the 1990’s!

She isn’t going to just sit in Roanoke till her flue time expires, plus flue time is about 15 years. Plus the museum has plans to take 611 other places besides strasburg to where she can run more and faster than 15 mph, plus the belt line in Roanoke which is owned by the VMT will eventually be used to run 611 sense the trackage used to be the track 611 along with the rest of the equipment was displayed on in wesena park

Plus strasburg isn’t not the best place for her to run either, most likely the best place for the J class to run is probably the reading and northern, Spencer shops, The Aberdeen and North Carolina Railroad, possibly even the Summerville line at TVRM.

@@Keystone1906_Productions would be neat, I know the museum tried setting up an event at the reading and northern but they couldn’t come to an agreement on where the money from the trips would go for the museum needs more than 50% of the money to keep the J running

Plus the way that ns is today they won't allow steam. The 765 is even having struggles to go to indiana northeastern because of ns
