Can A Nurse Afford To Live In Redondo Beach, CA?
That is a hard question! Perhaps it depends how you live your life and what lifestyle do you have to live with! A professional like a registered nurse should be able to afford to live anywhere she or he would like, right? But is $100K enough to live off from in California? That definitely depends what pocket in CA you want to live in. Where the better schools are, there is a large price tag to go with that.
I hope you enjoyed this video. I'm glad to share my experiences with you. Please like, comment and perhaps share this video.

PACU nurse offer from HONOR HEALTH in Phoenix, AZ!

With over 10 years of nurse experience, Honor Health was able to give me details of their offer for me. I do wish that hospitals are more transparent about their pay. Unfortunately, sometimes you only find out their pay once you accept the position. Here, Honor Health in Phoenix, Arizona was able to disclose with me in details of their pay. QUITTING MY NURSING CAREER to become A SALES ASSOCIATE! 20% of RN's Are Leaving in 2022!

This video is about my decision to take a break in my nursing career to pursue other things, and fashion sounds so much fun! So many nurses are leaving their profession because they are exhausted physically and mentally. If nursing school was bad enough, working in the hospital seems to be getting worse! Talk to your nurse friends and listen to what they have to say. I'm curious! I'm not saying...
hey any advise to get in the door, should i just walk in with my resume? there isnt even an application online for the lv near me.
I got offered a job with Louis Vuitton last week. So excited
So fun!! Good luck!
@@meetnurselolita thank you 🙏
The music is distracting!
which one would you say for a long term career which is better ucla or kaiser?
Great question!! Both institutions have great benefits! They both pay well. UCLA has a little bit more prestige because it is after all a big teaching facility with research, Level 1…but if you don’t care too much about the residency/teaching type of environment, Kaiser would be better I think. The only reason why I say that is because there’s so many Kaiser hospitals that you and your family can go to if you get sick etc and their health system if you ever become a patient is wonderful! But for me, because I love the teaching environment, I’d prefer UCLA. But either one is great!
Hi! do you have any idea with endo nurses in mayo? call situation and pay? :)
I will get back to you on that one as I don’t have the most recent $$. I just know that it pays the most in the valley…AZ
Do any LVNs or LPNs work at Honors Health? If so, how much do they make?
Hi! Yes, they do. But I don’t know how much they pay.
I left nursing pacu to work remote for insurance. Much happier now. Flexible schedule to drop off kids and pick up at school. I work 4 10s and clock in and out when needed, off 3 days straight. Pay is fair and close to what I made as a nurse
That’s so awesome! Yes, finding that mom-life with career is so underrated! Working moms deserve so much more! I wish America would get in the program of seeing what we need more of if we want to raise better people on this planet!
@@meetnurselolita crush kita
Must depend on state. Pacu nurses in Mayo Florida Jacksonville start at $35 an hour lol. Are you filipina? Crush kita
Wow! They don’t pay very much! Yes, I’m Filipina haha
Too much articles to choose and can't find the scale in the link...Just finished an interview with UCLA and what would be their hourly pay for a nurse with 6 years of experience ?
Hello! Sorry, late reply. I can get back to you tomorrow or if you don’t mind sharing what they offered you, some audience would love to hear…thank you!
How can we get into contact with you?
What do you mean? Sorry, I haven’t gotten the chance to put up videos. I keep saying I will soon tho!
Congratulations on the positions 🎉
Thank you but I had to reject the position because of my son’s disability which requires more of my attention.
Hello. I am currently working here in the UK. And planning to come in the US by 2025. Is it possible to apply directly to Mayo clinic USA without agency? Thank you 😊
Hello! Unfortunately, you have to have a nursing license in the state Mayo Clinic is in - Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota. This also means that you have to pass the Nursing Board Exam. I would reach out to Mayo Clinic Human Resources online.
@@meetnurselolita hello. Thank you so much for your reply. I already passed my NCLEX, however, I choosed N.Y state before, and my license was endorsed to N.Y. What should I do so that I can apply to Mayo Clinic? Thank you 🙂
@@raisaagcaoili4630 Hi Raisa! You can certainly work for Mayo Clinic in Arizona or FL or MN if you choose since you've passed your NCLEX already. You just have to apply for your state license then. You will only have to pay for your application. I recommend you applying for Arizona since it is a compact nursing state, which probably won't matter if you really want to work for Mayo Clinic. Or better yet, you can just submit your job application with Mayo Clinic while simultaneously wait for your AZ state license. DM me on my Instagram @infu_zen if you have other questions since I could reply from there a lot faster.
@@raisaagcaoili4630 Hi! Congratulations! I thought I've already replied to this but maybe it didn't go thru... anyway, yes, you can directly apply to Mayo Clinic...one of the questions on your application will be something like, "..do you have or will you have your license to practice..." and you can just say yes but simultaneously should be applying or pay the fee for your Arizona/FL/MN state license where Mayo Clinic is... follow my IG @infu_zen since I'm on there more often and will likely to reply much faster. Good luck!
Hi, I am an immigrant here in US. I've been a nurse since 2012. When talking about years of experience, do they only count the times you work as a nurse? Because although I've been a nurse for 11 years my work experience is kinda on off nursing.
Yes, they only count the times you worked as a nurse:)
Yes, they only count your “nursing” years.
Hi Lolita, thanks for sharing such information, I have just subscribed to your channel. I've just signed for an ICU Nurse position in Medford, OR.. do you know anyone around Southern Oregon? I would love to ask some more questions.
Hello! I love Oregon!! What a beautiful state! No, I’m sorry. I don’t know any nurses out there! Good luck and thank you!
Congratulations! I hope you are loving your new job at Louis Vuitton.
Hello! I actually quit the day after I got my schedule because the store wanted me to work EVERY weekend:(
@@meetnurselolita Oh no, I am so sorry to hear that. Having to work every weekend :(
Whats the pay in LA?
Depends what hospital you work at and how many years of nursing experience you have. It ranges from high $40’s to $60’s per hour, which I don’t think is even enough to live off from considering the cost of rent/food/gas
Hi do you know anything about the in patient /acute dialysis unit in Harbor UCLA medical center ?
Hi! Yes, they do have one. I don't know much about it except that they are always wanted (hence, busy). But that is the best thing about working in a teaching facility is that I feel like they are very supportive in terms of how they allocate the work that their staff can take.
This is actually a really good concept!
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing! Although the picture you show for "Epic" was Cerner I believe haha
Oh really? Haha I’ve used both! I love Epic! But I’ve grown to love Cerner
👋
Pls,can you give names of areas in Nocal and southern California that has public transportation like buses for work
Hi! All of the hospitals that I've worked at has bus transportation outside of them. I believe this is required per city.
@@meetnurselolita thanks so much
well done, takes a lot of guts to lay it out the way you did. I wish more nurses and women in general talked about pay and benefits out in the open so people won't be taken advantage of.
Thank you! I agree 💯
Very informative. I hope you share more videos about your experience lving in Cali. and your work as an RN.
Thank you! Will do! I'm happy you appreciate the content! I have a lot of experiences living and working in California, both northern and southern. I hope to put out more videos soon; unfortunately, I've been so busy with my new venture! But thank you for watching!
Killer king huh.
I think that’s what they used to call it before it got shut down. But doesn’t seem that way about the hospital anymore. I’ve met a lot of staff who truly care about the patients who come thru. It’s the are around it that’s kinda sketchy.
🤦 promosm
I know nurses at UCSF that drive 1-2 hours to work everyday because of the pay.
Yep! I know people who fly to SF area to work for a few days straight then fly back home ie OHIO lol
Hi, can Indian pharmaD worker come to USA n work as nurse
Hello, no you cannot. Since you already have a degree, which I am not sure if your degree is recognized to get into Nursing School Master's Accelerated program. Please re-check. But you cannot be a nurse without going to school for at least 2 years and then taking the Board Exam.
That extra money is actually for rents assumed, because direct pay doesn't mean that you actually get that post taxes
You are absolutely correct! There are so many taxes and BS fees that only CA takes out!
Federal and CA state taxes take out a huge chunk of your pay, your actual take home pay is way less than you would think. The higher pay also puts you into higher tax bracket and so a greater amount of your pay is lost to taxes
Yes, you are correct! But it does make up for the higher cost of living. And then it depends where you live also in the Bay Area or out in LA County. Yep, the tax bracket sucks both for CA & Federal. But I know some nurses who fly from OH to the Bay Area (northern Cali) to work because the pay is so much greater!
Taxes are not as bad as you think especially if you havw a good tax guy. Who can write off a bunch if stuff including school loans your gas internet car you come out. Or you can stay in states where lvn make the same or more than rn
That’s not how taxes work. Go educate yourself
Here in America a lot of taxes are taken out of our pay. There is a big difference between gross and net pay. You go educate yourself.@@africaoriginalvlogs6140
@@africaoriginalvlogs6140 @africaoriginalvlogs6140 be more polite and go educate yourself
Hi! Is PACU salary higher than OR nurse? Is there a difference in pay?
Hi! In some hospitals, PACU is considered Critical Care and you may be able to get get a little bit more. However, OR is very specialized that it’s more in demand. When you look into travel agencies, they pay OR nurses more than PACU nurses. But both departments take CALL so they do get paid standby and call pay.
As far as I know, there isn’t a difference in pay and also it depends on the facility
Thank you for the info it would be great if you have also included the cost of living in each city.
Thanks for the suggestion! I will do that!
Close to $100/hr for a nurse. Doctors should be paid at least twice as much, including PCP.
Agreed!!
What? $38/hr on standby?? while us in midwest area, $3/hr for standby on call😅
Yep!! But look at cost of living! Although, I should put up a video on how much rent is there esp. in Palo Alto! It's totally worth it!
3 hr standby yall need to go on strike
@@watching789 there’s no union here to go on strike

Obviously they gonna pay u more coz of ur beautiful body as well. Pretty privilege is def a thing and be grateful u have it. Saying it doesn’t exist is just naive.
Given that pay is based strictly on the union contracts, your comment is just sad and cringe.

But can nurses buy houses in la or the Bay Area?
Love your question! In the better areas, no lol
I know female nurses dont like talking about this topic. Kinda a little female nurse secret. But I had surgery few years ago. I woke up in the recovery room with 4 female nurses hovering over me giggling and talking with my gown lifted up to my chest. I kinda sat up a bit, I guess they realized I was starting to come to it, so one quick pulled my gown down and the other 3 left the room right away. So.... would you see ANY reason for there to be 4 nurses in a recovery room? If there was an issue that required that many then why were they laughing? Why did they leave immediately after I gained consciousness? And why was my gown lifted up exposing me? I asked a couple female nurses I know and they said they were sneaking a peak and gawking for NON MEDICAL REASONS. They said A LOT of female nurses will sexually degrade innocent defenseless unconscious male patients under anesthesia. And even the ones who dont do that stuff turn a blind eye and ignore the ones that do and dont report it because it's being done to Male patients. They said if a younger, fit, good looking guy or other Male patients who fit a certain criteria have surgery you can pretty much guarantee female nurses in surgery and PACU will PURPOSELY expose them post surgery while they are still sedated. So, in your expert opinion, where they doing what we all think while I was unconscious? And how do you think female nurses would like it if when they had surgery 5,10,15 male hospital employees were sneaking in and lifting their gowns up to laugh and gawk? Why do you think its acceptable among female nurses to sexually degrade and sexually abuse male patients? I'm NOT accusing you of any of this, just curious to why you think female nurses find sexual assault funny and why male patients aren't given the same respect as female patients? Just trying to get a female nurse to have a REAL answer to this stuff so our sons, fathers, brothers, husbands, our best friend's sons, favorite uncles, nephews can have surgeries and stop having to worry about being sexually violated by female nurses when they do. Thanks!
Hi Dustin! I am so sorry about your experience! No one deserves this at all! Personally, I have never known anybody who has ever committed such behaviors. These behaviors are not tolerated!
@@meetnurselolita that's good!! Too bad not every hospital is like yours. I've had a couple female nurses spill the beans on some things A LOT of female nurses do to unconscious male patients under anesthesia and even a Male nurse tell me stories he saw and heard female nurses do. One female nurse told me a story about a local TV anchor who had surgery, word spread throughout the female nurses and female employees in the unit. So afterwards while he was still sedated from anesthesia, 30 or so female nurses quick shuffled in, I'm guessing the recovery room, and took turns lifting his gown up. They thought it was HILARIOUS to sexually degrade him like that. So... out of 30 female nurses NOT ONE had a conscious to stop it or report it??? Kinda disputes the whole "few bad apples" argument. She said that stuff is common, she said female nurses will do that stuff to certain Male patients. It will take a nurse with integrity and honesty to admit it, but I've had a few female nurses admitt that female nurses dont treat male patients with the same respect and dignity as they do female patients, that playing these games with unconscious Male patients is acceptable among female nurses because they see it as harmless fun as long as it's being done to Male patients. Sad
