Shipmate your recruiter was garbage. You should have smoked any OPFA or PRT because your recruiter led you in PT during DEP meetings. Hopefully you were mentally prepared for boot camp as well. The more you are mentally and physically prepared, the more you stand out for leadership positions. But it sounds like you adapted and overcame. Find you a good mentor when you get to the fleet. It will be hectic on the first day, but less hectic after that, as you will get use to it or hope that you get use to it. Boot camp was the worst time of my life, even harder than OCS.

My Navy boot camp was difficult. If I had everybody in my company to be like me, it would have been a breeze.

I went from boot camp in San Diego to OCS in Newport. I didn't ask to go into the Navy. I was drafted.

Boot camp is fun if you go into it with the attitude its all a game and you just have to play along to the best of your ability. I was always in trouble for being a smart arse, you want to get through it with ease listen and be good at what is expected. Dont be a kiss ass and dont stand out. Speak when spoken to with confidence and shit the fuk up the rest of the time. Learn whats expected to memory and its friggen easy unless your are over weight or/and out of shape and are soft in mind and body. Be a stand up guy, honor, courage and commitment. Be about integrity always!

RADM Couture relieved Sandin of command over a ARI as the scuttlebutt goes. Smith been replaced as MCPON as well. Important to point out for anyone wanting to study ahead. You'll have your RDC, the Ships LCPO and the Ships officer as well to memorize but recruits will find that out when they get organized into a division. The video that is on the bus never updates quick enough so try not to pay attention to it to hard. You'll have the training guide to write everything down and study.
